@@randomname4726 since when do ugly people not get injured? and when was it only possible for attractive people to start a foundation in their own name?
I do not blame the pilot here. He even told her and instructed her: Exit. Towards. The. Back. NOT towards the prop. Many people are saying he shoulda shut down the engine first, but as long as the passenger is instructed to not exit towards the front, it shouldn't be an issue. Plus, the engine that's in that plane is god-awful to hot start once it's shut down.
Well unfortunately it is an issue even if the pilot instructed the passenger to exit to the back and not to the front cause they don`t know if the passenger was listening to the pilot. I do agree the pilot should turn the plane off first and wait for the propeller to stop.
No we can't blame the pilot and he did tell her where to walk when she exited the plane. However, people forget & can't hear in a small loud airplane. And the propeller is NOT visible. It was a tragic accident. I am a 67 year old female that earned my Private Pilot license in 1989. It's a lot to learn and so much to be aware of. I would ALWAYS shut the engine when I had a person with me who was exiting the aircraft for any reason. It would be best to have a rule to do so. This beautiful young lady would not have had to go through this. I am so happy for her. I remember when this occurred as I live in the Dallas area.
A beautiful person inside and out. I love that she's helping others when she could just as easily be angry & feel sorry for herself. What I don't understand is why insurance won't cover prostheses for everyone, as if helping people feel complete is a waste of money (of which they have PLENTY) in their view.
Good people do NOT sue other good people. Personal responsibility is a true reflection of a persons character. She would only inspire those that take advantage of others for their own monetary benefit casting aside doing the right thing and taking responsibly for your own lack of self awareness and your position within your surroundings. She wasn't in the basement playing a video gamr. She was in an aircraft with a pilot that lets anyone be a passanger without taking an IQ test or having to answer a series of skill testing aeronautical questions . That behavior makes me shutter. Nothing inspiring there.

This is also about machine safety. An exposed lethal potential should never be allowed to be in proximity or direction to have the slightest potential of causing harm. It is not about being smart or careful. It is in case of the unexpected as well. People with long scarfs blowing in the wind, kids running away, and yes party goers being ungrounded. They have enough self respect, humbleness, and self responsibility in harnessing such awesome power that they have the compassion for the potential of an accident that you cant even begin to imagine.

Its very common/standard practice in many places. Helicopter pilots will sometimes guide people on/off a helicopter with moving blades head and direct the person to duck and keep their head down by pressing gently on their head as they get on/off the helicopter. The giant rotating blade above your head is usually enough to make people keep their heads down. Likewise for seeing a giant rotation blade in front of you and/or hearing it is often enough to make you not walk into it.
