- In this intriguing video that will fascinate people from around the globe (probably not), I will be remove an annoying flaw that has plagued me from using this device. I am replacing the male power input plug of the soundbar with a female one (dc inline switch - which I had laying around), essentially standardizing it and allowing it to be used with many of my DC wall power adapters. Pretty easy, simple for anyone. Lol I'm not buying a power adapter specifically just for this soundbar.
Good video!!
Nice BG music and Good vid, thanks.
Being that I have multiple 12v adapters, I just hard wired an adapter to it, no DC plug.
I bought the same soundbar for $6 and I'm about to connect it directly to a SATA power cable (yellow is +12V) This would eliminate the need for separate DC power adapter and it would turn on with the PC.
connections and soldering job could have been made within switch case - no tape, no mess
Can it can to laptop usb port for power??????
I have the same model Ax510, One Speaker is working fine but the 2nd one is not working, how i solve it?
Well amazing video but I want to ask additional question, I live in Ukraine and I can't find a female to male switch, so can I cut a dc power adaptor and connect it directly to the sound bar ?
yes, at your own risk. make sure the wiring is correct (e.g. positive to positive), solder and then isolate with either heatshrink tubing or electrical tape.
@@ThatsSoM0 Thanks a lot, I did it and it worked just fine, Thanks for the amazing video
HI, I must admit that i am a bit of a noob when it comes to electronics... But I also got my hands on such a Dell soundbar and well I want to try something like you've done but I am not sure which connector I should use to make this mod. Does it need to be 12V and 2A or can it be any other amount of current?
I’d suggest minimum being what it states (12V, 1A) maximum doesn’t matter it will use what it needs.
So minimum is 12V, 1 Amp . It will run with less but may run out of power at max volume.
You also need to have 12 V or no sound will come out - I tried 9-10V and it turned on but no sound.
When I plug it into my computer it will not turn on
Can you specify, which female socket fit it, 5.5*2.1 or 5.5*2.5?
i believe it is 5.5*2.1**
EDIT: had a recheck
Dell AC511 is usb powered.
When can I buy this switch
?
I think he meant where he can buy it
"ebay" or you order online.
There is a female electrical receptacle on the back of Dell AX510 monitor to accept the male plug from sound bar. Why is all this necessary. If you really need a switch to put off the sound bar use the volume control knob. IMO an unnecessary venture.
Not all of the soundbars are attached to a Dell AX510. Some monitors require a power adapter.
