    I just bought the UX 250h, my first Lexus and first SUV. I love it in every way, and the fuel efficiency is nothing short of amazing. I have learned in these first months how to drive for better mileage. Depending on temps and traffic lights, I have gotten 52 mpg driving from Roslindale (an outer section of Boston) to Cambridge (9.7 miles) Last week driving from Roslindale to Newton (8.5 miles) my UX got 64.9 mpg. 64.9! Plus it is so enjoyable to drive. It was not possible to choose from many colors at this time, but I was able to get Obsidian with camel interior, which looks very sleek and elegant. Thank you for your comprehensive review. It is spot on.

      how did you drive to get your mpg up to 65??

    • @mainecooncatman
      @mainecooncatman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@kevzzang I learned over time to let up on the gas whenever possible, or to minimize how much I press on the gas. The day of the 65 mpg, I hit all the lights so as not needing to stop and start , and the traffic conditions plus many down hill stretches allowed for much coasting or very little gas. Some days I do everything to keep in electric mode as much as possible. Other days I drive for fun- as in "step on it". Even then I get good mileage. Playing with this gives a new dimension to the driving experience.

    I own this car. I have about 10k kilometers in so far. The consumption is at around 6L per 100km and I am not mindful of slow acceleration/deceleration to fully utilize the hybrid system. A proper driving style should be able to score around 5.5L per 100km easily. It barely burns any gas in traffic in start and stop conditions.

    • @mikej238
      @mikej238 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@conradce lol it's hardly a land yacht. I've watched 100 reviews for the NX nobody called it a yacht. I wanted a UX for 3 years. We test drove it last week and like it but you can't fit anything in it except 4 people . Plus the NX has 59 more HP and the same gas mileage as the UX..
      I ordered a 350H.

    • @conradce
      @conradce 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@mikej238 It all depends on what you’re used to, and what your needs are. I drive a Tesla Model 3 and my wife drives a Honda Prelude. Both are low to the ground and have tight suspensions and great steering. By comparison, the RAV4 and Lexus NX felt very floaty, had a lot of body roll, understeer, etc., while the UX actually had decent handling.
      I realize probably all SUVs are like this (unless it’s a Porch Cayenne maybe?). So maybe that means we’re just not SUV people. But my wife didn’t like the feel of the NX and pretty much instantly fell in love with the UX. We’re this close 🤌🏻 to ordering one.
      She thinks the cargo will be adequate for a weekly trip to Costco or a trip to the nursery once a year for a few plants, or for her mother’s walker, which is all she cares about. We’re a pair of empty nesters so there’s no soccer or hockey equipment, and we’ve never taken bikes anywhere or anything like that. On first glance, the cargo space looks comparable or superior to that of the Suzuki SX4 crossover she used to drive around, and she thought that was plenty. But a couple of reviews and now your comment have got me thinking that I need to double check the cargo space-maybe test that walker. But it fits fine in the trunk of my Model 3, so I doubt the UX would be a problem.

    Was interested in the UX250h but the woefully outdated infotainment system & the fact a decent spec new factory order takes you over the £40k higher vehicle tax bracket in the UK meant I didn't bother. The updated C-HR with new Toyota Smart Connect infotainment plus the 2 litre hybrid power train is a much better choice. A fully loaded C-HR with option packs still keeps you under the £40k vehicle tax threshold.

    • @manuitisholk3488
      @manuitisholk3488 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey can you explain this higher tax bracket part?

    • @leepower2717
      @leepower2717 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@manuitisholk3488 - Basically If the official published manufacturers list price before any discounts is more then £40k, you have to pay higher rate vehicle road tax for years 2 to 6 inclusive, which means £510 per year ( X 5 years ) to tax a decent spec UX250h. A fully loaded C-HR falls under £40k so £155 a year to tax it.

      Thanks! Nothing mechanical changes for the 2023 model but, in theory, you could make it to a higher speed in EV mode. This hybrid system is weaker than in some other Toyotas so we struggled to keep up with traffic here in the States of we didn't take off more aggressively. Hope this helps.
