- Understated liveable sophistication is at the very core of Project 350 by mckimm, a contemporary family and forever home designed to accommodate the present whilst planning for the future.
Setting out on the journey of building a family home is one of life's great challenges. The pursuit of this difficult goal requires great sacrifice and a powerful trust to develop between the client and designer. Through Project 350 this trust becomes evident as Nick McKimm, founder and director of mckimm, and his team were tasked with developing a contemporary residential space and home for a young Melbourne family to grow and mature for many years to come - a true forever home.
As summed up by Principle Designer Lorenzo Garizio, "We will see this home continue for generations through the family", the true mark of a great family and forever home.

I love how this house isn't just empty, like most big homes. Their use of space is perfect, nothing in the house is boring or overwhelming
this is like one of the few rich people houses that you see on youtube and it actually feels like home and a place that'd you enjoy living not showing off

but aren't these houses cold and not homely? It's a honest question. I've never been in such a house. I love how it looks but it doesn't feel very warm.
Donald some people dont like clutter and tight spaces seen in old designs. Clutter can also be visual like having weird or ugly materials and unneccessary design elements like you see in mcmansions.
The way these homes are designed in a minimal way leaves more room for the residents to create a homely feeling themselves. Its not the disposable memorabilia that gets hoarded in ”homely” homes but its the people that make the place feel warm and welcoming.

It's such a special family home, and we can't stress enough how lovely the homeowners were - really they were such brilliant people!
Hi; about design: the problem mainly is to have enough space (and money to pay the annual taxes depending on the sq/meters that you built) to design such things; like the entry way and hall in this house; that are very wide; very nice but demand too many sq meters for the final count and sometimes in some areas or Countries; you cannot built more than a given meters in a given plot; so to design in an smaller scale these types of spaces is very difficult.

This property is exceptional! No matter the design or layout I always find something that makes me slightly disappointed or let down, even if it is something small, because I seek Function, Form, practicality and logic. First time I have been in total awe and can't find fault at all. It is truly a beautiful home. I can only dream. !

I have been making digital builds in a game called ARK for a few months now, (few years actually but more seriously since the pandemic broke) and I've gradually turned from building fantasy stuff, which will prolly keep happening, to appreciating the marvel of houses. Everyday houses built to stand the tests of time and pass through generations. The way they talk about their meticulously designed houses make me feel the same thrill I've been feeling about music and any form of art I've experienced. It's simply touching. Thank you for sharing. It's making me more obsessed with making justice to this form of art through my craft.

This is how a real architecture looks like. You have to show the building in it's raw form with only natural lighting to capture it's beauty. Otherwise it's just a video of 5 star hotel
