Well Done Lock Noob. One comment for anytime the disks are blocking the keyway. You can use the idler like you did to rotate them out of the way but it works much better with the sidebar in as it will fall into the detent on the disks and hold them in place. If your fully assembled the springs will do it for you. If your partially apart like you were, you could put the side bar in and use your finger to put a little pressure on it so the side bar grabs that detent on the disks. That way the disks wont come back down. I doubt you will be taking it apart again anyways but im sure some folks in the community will follow in your footsteps soon :)

Thanks! I appreciate the tips and if anyone else is trying to reassemble theirs, hopefully this will be invaluable advice for them too

At least you had a video of the strip down to watch in reverse, mind you still a tricky thing to do.👍
I like the fact that the key was sitting there watching your every move with a smirk on its face.

Star washer. That is what it is called.

Just a tip on that type of tail piece, if you use the tail piece to push down the retainer pin while screwing down the cap, then once it's tight, turn the tail piece until it locks into the pin and then adjust cap as needed.
    Have a great day

My apologies for repeating your tip. I should have read through the comments before I posted.

Thanks for a tremendous video. Impressive, as always.
When assembling the tailpiece assembly, I find it helpful to align the disk with a solid portion over the retaining pin. You can just seat the tailpiece in the nut and depress the pin, without need of a pick. Catch the threads and rotate the disk to align the hole with the pin as you’re nearing the tightness you want. If my description isn’t clear, i can make a short video.
BTW that thing on the screw is called a lock washer or star washer over here.

Absolutely superb videos on the new rotasera. It was hard to understand the nuances of the mechanism just from drawings and animations but you knocked it out of the park with your close examination. You're a credit to the community good sir!

With the discs catching and rotating in turn, this reminds me of a rotary dial combination lock, getting all the true gates to align. I better be careful because next Bowley will release a keyed rotary combination lock‼️: insert the Rotesara, turn clockwise to 45°, turn counter-clockwise around past that 45° position into the -90° position, then counter-clockwise around past the -90° into the 180°, then clockwise around past the 180° to the 225°, continuing, for all of the 8 discs. Maybe, even, after all that: now, remove key #1 and insert key #2 to unlock.

Marvelous reassembly! Super fiddly, but you did it!
BTW, I don't know a proper name for that last washer, but I've always considered them just another species of lock washers.

Well done, sir! Very glad you didn't flip one of the middle disks and need to start again. That is a very impressive lock.

The pinning tray makes it a little hard to see whats on it on a small screen.

It looks like now the bully Lock company, has found a way to make their locks inferior. The rings are the new not good. The pins were much better. The rings are the new error in this design. Before you could change the pins around file your key to match the pins in the New order. Making a new lock new key. With the rings I can find out what the settings are make a key to fit your lock and go into your home. By asking the company to give me a new key to match your lock.
