I think it would be the most wanted and most searched review.. nailed it Bro !!
Punch is my first car. Yes, there is some lag with the engine, but not bad. I drove 2200 km covering Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra, Telangana, all kinds of roads. As a new driver without any discomfort I was able to do long drives, particularly Highway experience was really good. There are other cars comes with better engines for sure, but TATA built quality is your insurance.
Price sir
I am using Maruti Wagon R ZXI 4 cylinder engine AMT. Even in that supposedly refined engine you can feel the lag at lower points. It's typical of any AMT gear boxes. I have driving almost 1600 kms at a single stretch in 3 days from Chennai to Madurai, Srivilliputur, Trichy, Tanjore Mannargudi and then back to Chennai. Even though the ride quality is fine, high speed stability even above 80 km speed is missing in that. Whereas I have seen my friends driving punch AMT without any stability issues at above 80 km speed in highways. The point is every car has got its own merits and demerits. Punch scores in terms of highway speed stability and 5 star rated safety whereas Maruti and Hyundai has better engine and reliable services. But one has to be alive to enjoy these benefits 😊..So punch in spite of its little laggy performance at lower gears is a better bet any day.
Today I did test drive of punch and Exter. I feel Exter is smooth to drive, no vibration. Exterlooks good. Both in AMT mode.
Exter scores vital points in Engine and service plus interiors.
Punch came to market 2 years before and Exter is released 1 month before hence Hyundai studied all features and came out with product that will take head-on with Punch which was dominating past 2 years. Good for consumers. Hope TATA will gear up and do something to elevate Punch market soon. Very good comparison done. It is going to be tough for people to take decision unless they do test drive and get satisfied.
😂😂😂 do you know about venue sonet and kiger.. everything is based by past models bro
Punch need to refine the engine.. no other options to stand in market.. people are aware of 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder difference.
As per new norms punch is not 5 star any more. Need to bring other safety features too
Punch is always top

if Exter get 4 and above NCAP rating then nothing to choose punch instead of exter and also the main bad impression was TATA service so much of complaints we can saw in social medias. my choice is Exter as of now.
Nios platform will get only two star with six airbags.
@@jagananand2623 6 airbags useful if accident happened on ocean, can be used as flotation device.

Sir, you should have also mentioned about features in EXTER which are missing in PUNCH (HAC, ESP, Sun roof... and also vice versa, which PUNCH has. but not in EXTER.

Few corrections:
* 10:25 Punch engine BS6 Phase II is modified and got more power and vibration is reduced drastically. Phase 1 Punch is used in this comparison. But still Exter's engine is more refined and less noise.
* 5:10 Rear compared in the wrong way:
You have compared the punch rear seat by sitting at the back of the driver's seat (driver seat adjusted to your position) where as you've tested Exter's rear seat in the back of the co-passenger seat which is not adjusted for your position in front
* 19:57 Exter's IRVM is not auto dimmable. It has SOS button on it
Overall comparison is very informative and helpful. 👏
FYI: I've just booked Punch on Exter's launch date and am waiting for the delivery 🚚
Near future Punch updates: Punch is about to receive mild update with Sunroof along with CNG and also 6 airbags

Excellent comparison review bro! Most useful for people who need to choose between the two. Have been a fan of the efforts you are putting into your videos. Keep up the good work! One correction though, even Exter doesn't get auto dimming IRVM. It only gets SOS, Road side assistance and Bluelink buttons. But no auto dimming available. At 17:36 minutes in the video, please note the manual switch to activate dimming.

With less noise 4 cylinder engine, loaded with lots of features, and expected 5 star rating in GNCAP, here the EXTER becomes value for money car

Definitely Punch is a better looking car,but if Exter avoided sun roof (sun window?)and given driver arm rest, rear arm rest and little width, it would have been first choice for many !
Punch BS6 Phase 2 is the current selling model which is much more balanced than the version shown in this video. To all buyers, take a test-drive of the vehicle and make your purchase.
If automatic Exter is the choice, paddle shifter’s definitely helps… In manual maybe punch still holds on

Good one to one comparison. 👍 Rear seat 3 people occupancy is missing in review. I think child can seat in middle. This for both the cars.
semma detailed video. very useful comparison between these 2 rivals.
Just test drove Punch Bs6 Phase 2 verion few hours after test driving Exter. Surprisingly this version of Punch has an impresively refined engine on par with Marutis. With a better pickup in the MT variant Its a major upgrade being downplayed by Tata sales people.
Punch is more Robust, but Exter is refined and sophisticated, the three cylinder is more noisy and four cylinder seems more cool, external looks more modern.
After seeing your review, I think Punch is anyday better. It feels more like a SUV than exter which is same like i10 nios.

Bro , thanks for your video. What is your view on steering smoothness while driving ?
Well Done Birla.... Very useful comparison on both cars. Amazing.
I believe that during the media briefing Hyundai officials mentioned that that as of now there are no 4/5 stars rated car in the micro SUV segment. The Tata Punch was rated 5 stars as per the old GNCAP where 6 air bags and ESP were not mandatory. As per the new parameters for a car to be rated 5 stars, 6 air bags and ESP are mandatory. Of course Tata Punch and other cars need to have 6 air bags by October 2023. Adding 6 air bags and ESP will add to the basic price of the car. Let both cars be tested as per the new GNCAP or BNCAP criteria and until then let us not brag that one is 5 star rated and the other is not. I see everything going in favor of Exter, engine refinement, durability, reliability, maintenance, safety, features, etc.

Sir, what about price comparison???
Why u sat in the driving Side of punch and passenger side in exter?? When sitting in the back
Very detailed video, very nice
Heard that exter is having rear suspension issue. With full load capacity (including luggage)the rear body is mostly fouling with the tyre. I saw some random videos too. Pls some one clarify this.
The typical customer of Punch is someone who wants a true rugged SUV, a 5-star safety rated car, 370 mm water wading capacity all in the price of a hatchback. This customer was never really about engine refinement or overall refinement. The Exter though touted as an SUV is just a raised hatchback and looks exactly like a hatchback. For that matter even the 2022 Ignis looks more rugged and better proportioned. Not sure if a person who favors the Punch might favor the Exter.
The Exter however would look a very very good option for the NIOS customer as well as the Venue/Sonet petrol 1.2NA customer. Whether the Exter hurts the Punch or not, which time will tell, it most probably would cannibalize both the i10 NIOS and the Venue/Sonet lower models with the 1.2NA petrol engine.
Arm rest is missing in exter
Is it available in genuine accessories
Kiger RXZ vs Fronx Delta plus which is better and value for money?
அருமையான விளக்கம் நன்றி
Every car has some positive side and negative......Can't get 💯 percent perfect....So choose a Car within your budget...enjoy ride😂😂😂😂😂😂
Exter rear seats position is lower for a SUV design ( rather like a hatchback). Thinking about it , it could be a design strategy. Normally in any SUV design the bumpiness in drive is felt mostly by the rear passengers due to the lower weight at the rear and overall higher CG in SUV design. To reduce the rear bumpiness , the rear seats might have been purposefully lowered to reduce the CG at the rear( which in turn makes like normal hatch seating).
One important point about Exter over Punch is the rear window and hatch glass are larger which makes the rear side more bright and airy.( Whenever I see a Punch on the road , I wonder how people are able to sit in the rear with very less window size and makes it more busy and claustrophobic)..
But you Comparing with Exter high end model..wt abt mileage... ??
Tata build quality is plus
Hyundai 4 cylinder engine is plus
A car should have both
Hyundai, Kia, Maruti build quality are not inspiring. Life of the family is utmost important, even I willing to pay 2-3 lakhs extra for it.
Tata 3 cylinder petrol engine is not driver friendly.
In this comparison Tata Punch is good as a family 1st car. Features are gimmick without build quality.
But I prefer
Tata's 4 cylinder diesel engine in Altroz.
One of the best car available in India right now.
5 star build quality and 5 star engine.
Now they added features like sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging as bonus too (though it is not a priority)
I thought altroz and punch same engine used..are u referring to turbo
@@bharathpr Punch don't have diesel engine as far as I know. 3 cylinder petrol engine not did justice to Punch design, turbo is just a band-aid not a solution. If you want to enjoy driving never look beyond 4 cylinder engines they are balanced and refined. If you are ok with going point A to B, just see driving as a work not enjoyment then you will be OK with 3 cylinder which are unrefined, low in pickup and cost cut done on heart of the car. It is like a old man doing sprint.
@@atyt1517 punch is my first car, never driven any car before..so am not feeling any difference. It's good for City
