  • It's Been TWO Years Since We Purchased Our Georgetown XL. Would We Buy It Again? We purchased our coach, a 2018 Georgetown 369 XL in May of 2018. Would we buy it again? In this video we tell you our top favorites of this rig as well as the things that are not our faves. At the end of the video we tell you if we would do it again.

    Well…. we made it and have created our You Tube Channel titled Rollin’ Into Retirement! Over the past 30 years we have traveled and owned a Class C, Travel Trailer, Fifth Wheel and now a Motorhome. Along with our blog rollinintoretirement.com we are documenting our travels in our RV Motorcoach, a 2018 Georgetown 369DS to places we have seen along the way, RV Tips we have come up with, RV Resort reviews and walk arounds…, all while spending quality snow bird time in Florida!
    We will periodically add new videos that will include more of these topics along with our other hobbies of Photography and of course food and wine! All while we are Rollin Into Retirement! We bought a 2019 GT5 last year. It's funny. They've addressed a lot of the things you've discussed. Specifically, the new dinette seating is MUCH more comfortable than the old design. They've also redesigned the kitchen cabinets a bit to allow more storage space. They went to new although not necessarily better bathroom sinks and faucets.The sink is a nicer shape and you don't get splashed but with the factory faucets, you can barely get your hand under the water. It's too close to the back of the sink. We changed our faucet out and now it's perfect. The driver's seat is still just as difficult to swivel though. I'm not sure there is a great way to fix that.

      Excellent! Glad to hear they addressed the dinette. I saw the picture of your sink on the forum.......great job. Thanks for watching the video!

    I wish I could find a video that would go through the control panel how do use each function how to turn on the heaters how to use all the functions that it has just a walk-through would be nice do’s and don’ts. Still can’t figure out where to turn the lights on in the dark 😂 thank you for warning me about turning the seats around and the wires underneath I am definitely going to check that out and see if there is a better solution.

    Great job on the video; we have a 2019 34L5 and we have the same 'non fav' list. Have you had any problems with the screen shade near the dinette? Ours will not go up anymore and this is not like a home shade that you can remove easily. On the whole, we love the layout and the theater seats we have are great. Loved your video!

    Boy-😩-Boy do I wish I would have found you guys before we bought our 2021 36K7 GT7.
    For starters, the drivers seat remains the same and yes, so does the wiring. The fuses blew in both of our seats, when the wiring harness shorted from rubbing sharp frame work.
    Yes our wood trim work falls off even though each piece is still fastened with "three" #18 1 1/2" wire nails.👍
    That full body paint... they do look pretty from the outside, but don't they all.🤗
    Honestly, we're embarrassed to admit we bought a Forest River product and are looking forward to getting rid of it before years end.
    PS. We did get a special option. Our vinyl floor covering is revealing (4 to date) blisters and splotches from repairs made, before our coach was delivered to us.
    Looking forward to seeing more videos from you guys. Our next will be your link, about replacing the mattress.
    Our bed came with a mattress that now resembles, sleeping on a pile of burlap bags.

      Yikes so sorry you had to go through that. At least try and enjoy some trips and hopefully they will take care of those issues!

      @@rollinintoretirementrvtips3680 Off subject..... SHOUTOUT to Jason, Nick, Ray, all the skilled techs and a very lovely receptionist at Forest River Plant 41 in Elkhart Indiana.
      I am happy to say, because of these people, my wife and I are now 'reformed disgruntled' 2021 Georgetown GT 7 fulltimers.
      These folks are an asset to Forest River without a doubt. If I were an owner of any industry, I'd want these guys and gals on my team.
      Thanks guys, we are happy campers once again.
      Annnnnd now, back to our regular programming.🤭

    Generally speaking generators are sized to the need. There is nothing wrong with a 5500 watt generator. It all depends on the electrical needs of the coach. Things like residential refrigerators and a second air conditioner can add to the electric needs of the coach. So the bottom line is that it actually better to 5500 watt generator vs the larger one if the 5500 meets the need of the coach. Bigger isn't always better.

    Thanks for the review of your rig. We are considering purchasing a Georgetown and I'm just wondering if you have needed any service on your rig from your dealer and/or Forest River and what your thoughts are on the service they provided. We are looking at Tiffin's as well and many people say their customer service is top notch and that their rigs are great quality. Any advice?

    • @rollinintoretirementrvtips3680
      @rollinintoretirementrvtips3680  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thanks for watching! We had one issue when we first bought it that we had to deal with Forest River but I will say it was the dealer that was awful and caused a delay. We got the extended warranty so when we had an issue with the awning we had a mobile guy come and it was covered. That being said....we looked at the Tiffin and it was out of our price range but would have chose them if we could. Hopefully that helps.

      @@rollinintoretirementrvtips3680 Same here as far as Tiffin goes. We really like the layout in the Georgetown because of the full couch. And I hear you about the L-shaped couch. We really want the four person if we get one. Do you think if we bought a used one with the L-shaped couch there would be a problem with needing to replace the flooring if we decided to change out the couches?

    • @rollinintoretirementrvtips3680
      @rollinintoretirementrvtips3680  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have talked about swapping the couch for the straight one and the floor looks fine on my 2018 but it’s easy to see the floor before you buy. It’s visible

      @@rollinintoretirementrvtips3680 Thanks! We hope to find something soon. We've been researching for a few years and the Georgetown was the first unit we walked into at the first RV show we attended. Since then we've never found anything else that we could afford that compared for the amenities we wanted. There were some 5th wheels we liked, but my husband thinks he would be more comfortable driving a Class A because we've never had an RV. We really like the idea of having the bath and a half, king bed, washer/dryer, and the full couch (so I can lay down flat when I need to). We laughed about your sink review because my husband and I always said we didn't like the look of the above counter sinks, but at least the white ones were more pleasing to look at than the clear glass ones. Who knew they aren't very functional either. Thanks for the advice. Hope to see you out there someday soon! Stay safe!
