    I love your music, I'm hoping to try to learn from this and make similar-ish music. It's absolutely beautiful.

    really lovely work, man. Great textures. nice melodies. I especially love the FM, bell-like tones I'm hearing around the 6-minute mark.

    It is truly wonderful... Very soothing. I might get the Norns Shield, and it would be even better with that grid... but my wallet... 🥲

      Thanks! start off with a Shield. You can do a lot with that alone! The grid is awesome and you wont regret buying one, but you can use the shield alone to begin with

      @@HansMarius1984 I'm afraid that's too late... I found a 64 used grid and couldn't help myself. They are both on their way !

    what is the role of the operator-one in the performance?

    • @HansMarius1984

      Op-1 is the sound source on the last part of the clip. Op-1 goes into Norns/Cheat Codes which loops and manipulates the sounds live

  • @austindize

    dam im actually thinking now the grid is the one manipulating all the sound
    tell me if im wrong

    • @HansMarius1984

      The grid and norns work together, but it’s norns that manipulate sounds and run audio in/out. Norns run ‘scripts’/apps that uses the grid in different ways. In this video I’m running the cheat codes script on norns and I’m using the grid to run the functions of the script. The grid itself doesn’t produce sound and needs to be connected to something else (norns, pc/mac)

    is your monome onlu controlling norns or is is triggering ableton too? i really enjoy this but love the 6 min mark

    • @HansMarius1984
      @HansMarius1984  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! In this video I’ve got Norns synced to ableton with ableton link. Synth tones playing in ableton is tempo synced to the the patterns playing in cheat codes (norns+grid). Norns+grid is not controlling ableton in any way

      @@HansMarius1984 thanks for the thorough response my dude! cool they are just linked for clocking/tempo purposes, i was starting to think ableton was going to get pushed to the side when i went with a norns and went more modular, glad they can play together!! keep it up!
