I always love easy straight to the point videos. My dash cam quit and I figured it was the fuse. Followed your video and now it’s working again. Thanks.
I just changed the fuse, everything fine until having to get my hand in the small square to pull out the fuse and getting the new in 😭 but I did it! Thanks to you I knew what I was supposed to do.
Right? What a crazy place for a fuse! I suggest needle-nose pliers if you have to change it again. They made a huge difference. I got the longest, thinnest pair I could find.
Thanks! Super helpful. A little hiccup though, while trying to remove the fuse with that yellow tool, it shot out from my hand and I have no clue where it went back there. Needle nose pliers worked fine to remove the bad fuse.
Thank you for this comment! I struggled with that crappy extractor for an hour, then saw this comment. Went to the store, got some nn pliers, and had the fuse changed in 30 seconds.
Thanks so much for making and posting this. I particularly appreciated that you noted the type of fuse required (ATM) and the type of driver for the screws in the dash (torx). I looked for this info for hours in the Renegade documentation and couldn't find it. Now I can fix my fuse!
Thanks for the clear video and giving the fuse type ATM, odd this is not mentioned in the user manual. Helpful tip; I found removing two square connectors between the banks of fuses made more space for my hand to remove/insert the fuse. FYI there is plenty of space for a fuse tap should you be looking for always on power (blue F36) and/or ignition power (blue F94) for say a dashcam.
I m having exactly the same fuse out..it was blown by the electric air pump it came with the car but some how it shorted it self and shorted the power charger too ,thanks for the video
JeepRenegadeGuy, I loved the fuse replacement video....i have a 2017 renegade and the rear window washer is not working . Do you have any tips on taking apart the rear spoiler so I can look and see if the hose is disconnected? (The fluid actually leaks our the rear panel to the street, so obviously the pump works . Thx!
Blessings! Thank you for this easy step by step video. I literally just changed my fuse. I had to use long nose pliers instead of flimsy yellow tool but besides that it would have been a 10 min process. 💕 Anyone can do this 🎉🎉🎉
This video is old now, but I just used it to change a fuse on my 2020 Renegade. If I can do it... anybody can. I recommend forgoing the fuse puller. It's a really tight space and an awkward angle, so you need a tool long enough that you don't have to stick your hand in there. I did not know they made 11" needle-nose pliers, but I'm really glad they do. I could have saved myself an hour of frustration, sore knees, and some arm skin if I had started with them.
Excellent video, well done. The Italian version of the owner's manual has forgotten the section related to the cigarette lighter fuse... I can replace mine, now.
Could you tell me if this is where the fuses would be to hard-wire a kit for a dash cam? I have a 2016 Renegade Limited, and I saw a guy on TH-cam show a fuse box in the engine area near the driver's side. And in another video, with a Renegade Trail Hawk I think, the fuses were behind the glove compartment. Thanks.
Thank you for the video, the owners manual and pdf download from jeep both useless and without the video i’d still be looking thru 697 pages. This was and is a pia to change. The removal tool provided is of little help but knowing where it is half the battle
Hi....Thanks for your video. Very helpful. However We have a right hand drive model and I am still struggling to fine the fuse box. Is it in the same location or will it be on the passenger side on my car?
Cool tutorial, but please note that on a 2.4L auto, the fuse box faces forward to the left and you would have to take front plastic panel completely off for better access - overall easy swap, just kinda a pita to get to...thank you
Not sure if you monitor this. I’m having a problem where my FOB is not being detected and there’s no power to those fuses that you just messed with. Do you happen to know which fuse/relay feeds power to those fuses?
Need help, I have a question for a 2015 renegade. There’s an outlet in the back of the center console. What can I use this outlet for? What’s the highest voltage or wattage I can use without damaging my battery? How does this affect the battery? Thank you to whoever helps me lol
Hello, not sure if you still monitor this video but I have an issue with the buttons on my steering wheel on my Renegade. I think it's the fuse.. but I can't find out which one to replace!! During a stop start moment it completely died then it stopped working, all the buttons on the steering wheel and the stop start system. All other electrics work fine.
I just learned that if you want to have constant power to the cargo 12v DC power outlet, you just have to move the 20 amp fuse from bay F18 to bay F30. No more need to have ignition on. :)
Who flipping designs these fuse panel placements!? They should be as easy to access as possible. Damn engineers that don't work on things with their own hands!!!
@@JrsGasolineAlley they could make it invisible under a removable panel on the left side of the dash too, like in other cars I have owned. This is a bit ridiculous.
They could make it like some vehicles and put it the rt. side of the dash since they have that access in that location anyway. Also, increase this circuit to 20 amps since it is the flat tire air pump that comes with the Renegade. There is a serious lack of 12 vdc outlets after all it is a off road. Make it a standard feature on 4 x 4 only. No full size or even a doughnut spare tire kind a bad for trail riding too.
Hello i told my husband to change it almost 1 month and nothing so I did my self today and It was easy .. unfortunately it's not the fuse . Any idea was wrong?
I would have never assumed they'd put those fuses behind panels. Thanks for the video.

My pleasure, glad it's going to help you fix your car. Not sure why Jeep made it difficult and gave little information but at least I can help.
I only heard a Torx bit but not the size.

Good tip on the add a fuse

Glad to help
Same thing here. Air pump blew it.
Same issue.
Yeppp... same with me. Go figure... seems those air pumps are problematic.

Gracias. I understant everything. My husband is going to replace it. But he does not understand English, so I'll translate to him. Thank you.
Excellent video, well done. The Italian version of the owner's manual has forgotten the section related to the cigarette lighter fuse... I can replace mine, now.
Glad I could help!
I broke my fuse puller and lost a fuse down in that compartment first time i did it. Sure is a wacky place to put the fuses.
Same! Well I lost the puller and dropped a new fuse. Hope neither of them cause any issues.
I checked that fuse and it was still connected but the 12v still won't work, would you happen to know why and thanks for the video
your video helped me the renegade 12 dc oulet look like inside is a normal cilynder lighter, thank so much

Just saw there's a RHD video; it's behind the glove box.

Good tips for 2.4l
Thanks! This video helped a lot. I was about to take mine to the garage. I forgot about the fuses.
Glad it helped!

Thank you for this video. WOW! what a pain in the butt it is to get to that thing. But I have successfully replaced my fuse.
Glad it helped. Took me some time to figure out how to get at the fuse panel and figured I could save others the time!

Check the owners manual for what fuse it would be and then you can use this guide to get to the box and see if it is blown
Excellent info. I only wish the size of the Torx bit would have been mentioned.
Hopefully you figured it out thanks
I found and bought an unmarked set and it was a part of that set. It was smaller than I expected.
What type of screw driver do you need.it doesn't look like regular philips
Great video, I would have never figured this out.
Thanks
Thanks for the vid. And it's cool to see another renegade 6-speed.
Thank you! This is very helpful. Great video BTW
Hello mate where can I find the fuse for AC compressor I’m not sure wether it’s under the hood or inside the car
Great video, But it's almost impossible to reach the fuse easily, you need to find someone with tiny hands or get a really long pliers.
Unable to find the fuse for the heater control for changing from defrost to floor, please help 😢
I just learned that if you want to have constant power to the cargo 12v DC power outlet, you just have to move the 20 amp fuse from bay F18 to bay F30. No more need to have ignition on. :)
Great tip! Might just use that in a video
changing the size of the fuse does not change where the wire are routed. You need to have the key on or change a wire .
@@RayJames552 he changed the whole location of the fuse from 18 to 30.
@Trisha Bowman Exactly. One of the bays has no fuse in it by default, so this completes the circuit.
Do you have any helpful information for the power outlet on the back of the center console? The inverter. Mine isn’t working.
Prob need to find the fuse I. Your owners manual. Mine didn't have that option
Great video. Thanks for the info. Throwing this vehicle out since it requires a lot of shop stops. Why do you need surgery for an outlet fuse?
Christ they put that fuse box in a terrible spot! 😂😂😂😂😂
where do I find my fog light fuse??
Does this take care od the rear outlet as well?
I suspect so.
thanks ! they would have it make it hard....but great and easy diy vid ! schweet
Great help thanks
Which one would be the radio fuse
Check the diagram on the fuse box. or in the owners manual
Thanks for the video. Good job.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
My signal light works then it turns off. Then back on again .
2018 renagade
Thanks for the video. Made it as easy as it could e been. Dumb design by engineers though.
Thanks
It worked.
Awesomeness 👍
Really appreciate the video - was feeling a little intimidated before I watched you walk us through it!
You got it Craig! Frustrating at first on where the fuse panel is but after finding it the job is pretty easy. Keep enjoying your Renegade!
