🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 amazing tutorial! Thank you!
I have a non-gyro version and I can't justify buying the new model with the gyro. I'll probably add one to what I already have like you showed. :)
No problem. Yeah since you already have one adding a gyro is a good option so you don't have to buy a whole new one with a gyro.
Thanks for posting this and the other video comparing the new version with the gyro. I really wanted one of these for work and wasn't sure if the original without the gyro was the way to go or spending the extra money on the new one was better I loved the dasmikro on my ldrc cars so much i bought 3 spares. Lol found the first version for sale on AE for$23 with free shipping so i jumped on it. 👍
No problem man, glad I could help you make that decision. Yea that's a good deal, don't spend more than you need to with these for sure. Who knows they might come out with a new version soon better than the others and make us all feel like we wasted our money on these older versions haha
Thanks again for the tips and how to videos. Thanks to you not only have I got my 4 ldrc drifters tuned perfectly but the difference on this little car is like might and day with the gyro and the suspension mod! 👍
However, I have noticed the steering angle is horrible on these my wltoys 1/28 awd has a much better angle. You think there's any way to add more angle? I haven't taken it completely apart but you think a rwd conversion can be done?
@@bighextacy That's awesome to hear bro, it always feels good to know my videos help guys like you out. Yea the steering on these little cars is pretty bad and they can't be modified easily since they interfere with the chassis/electronics when you turn the wheel as far as you can so the only way to get better steering will be a whole new redesign for the front end and removing the stock electronics. Modding one for RWD was already on my mind to fix that problem and others which I will go over some of that in the next video. I will be disassembling them in the next vid and will talk about all the issues they have like the front diff being a solid axle which is not good for an AWD drift car, it should be a front one way or atleast an open diff but I think they are too small to even make that work or it would of cost a lot more to make at that size so that's why they went that route I bet.
Looks pretty painless to add to one of these cars. I'm curious to see how everything goes once you swap out the esc and rx, keep up the good work 👍
Thank you. Same here, I'm hoping aftermarket electronics will unlock the gyros full potential.
Looks nice👍
Thanks man
Nice I'm going to try do the same
Sounds good, definitely worth a try.
I understood cause you want me to
Thank you a million
A friend indeed

You're welcome my friend, I'm glad I could help you out 👍
прикольно) только цена гироскопа почти такая же как сама модель =(
I know it sucks. But atleast that gyro is half the price of most other gyros out there.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV 😄
I just got my little BMW car. Your videos are super helpful! I'm looking to do the same to mine. I may mess around with some 3d modeling and see about that rear suspension... I've never messed with 1:43 scale rc cars, only 1:10.
Awesome, hope you have good luck with yours. They are small but fun, definitely needs some modding to make them better though for sure. I was thinking of doing something like that as well but I have multiple things I'm working on so it might be awhile. I put a little spring where the back plate is with the screw and loosened the screw a little and that helped some. Obviously not the same as real suspension since it's really working to dampen the body not the chassis but it's better than nothing for now. They came out with a new version that comes with a gyro now which I will do a video on this week so you might have bought that bmw a little too early lol it's not too bad of a gyro and cheaper than adding an external one so I think people will probably prefer this new version over the old. Either way you can make the old version better it just will cost a little more, I have 3 old and 1 new with the gyro so it is what it is.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV alright cool! I was about to spring for the gyro but I haven't yet. Holding out a bit as I'm curious as to how different the built in gyro is on the newer version vs adding that v5 gyro in. I'm thinking of completely tearing it apart and using the board, servo, and motor and redoing the complete chassis with proper suspension. Just a little bit of a fun experiment. I found the gyro version for $40 with shipping. I may just go for that and use the BMW for a tester.
@@2Mackfish I just finished recording the review on the gyro one and will probably have it up tomorrow night once I'm done editing. Yea 3d printing a new chassis may be the way to go but adding suspension will be tough since it's AWD drive and has a driveshaft through the middle of the chassis with the back wheel mounted to one rod that had a gear glued to it, you can't make the wheels independently move up and down so we are gonna have to cut them and figure something else out. I'm thinking make it RWD and take the front differential and front wheels and move them to the back and then move the back wheels up front, separate them and design new hubs and suspension with more steering angle.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV yeah, I may have to make my own driveshaft similar to my other rc cars. I was going to copy the design from my slash 4x4 to see. But your idea seems like it could work. I was able to return the old one and get the new one with the gyro installed for the same price. So I will have the gyro version in a few weeks! Can't wait!
Where can I buy It?
ive bought this gyro and there is just no way to connect the wire of the gyro. Its so tgiht that ive cutted the boarders of the connector and still there is about 1mm overlap. I think they changed the socket to avoid using the gyro
That's not cool if they changed it. I've used it on all my old versions and it fits on all of them with a little bit of force so if you got an old version it should work. So if you got a new version that has new connectors that's pretty annoying if they changed that so it won't fit. You'll have to make you're own connectors then by cut and soldering or use adapters.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV ive tried it so hard to press it in that no the cables in the conector seems loose. Cause sometimes the gyro blinkes sometimes it dosnt. I will solder it tomorrow cause it annoyes me like hell. Also IF its connected and it blinks finaly, then i cant turn the steering. The steering is powered by the gyro, cause i cant move the wheels to left or right. But the led just blinks slowly and nothing happnes. What could be the issue? Any idea? The car was driving so nicely and I could make full powerslides with no problem. Then ive wanted to tighten the conector with a little bit of hot glue, so it isnt so loos, but after the hot glue the pins in the connector are loose now and the mentioned problems happen.
@@gaboaaa23 So what I did to help keep more contact with the connectors when they get loose is just slightly bend the two side pins of the three outward a little to help create more friction inside the connectors. It can be a little tricky to get the connector back on but once you do it usually will hold much better and the little pins will make good contact with the metal sleeves inside the connector. You can also take each sleeve out of the connector one at a time and pinch the sleeve closed some so it sits tighter on the pins when connected. Try getting a good connection first and see if that fixes the blinking light issue or not. If it doesn't we will trouble shoot some more. Sometimes when I'm holding the car in the air and turn it on the gyro won't set and keeps blinking until I set it down on the table for a few seconds and then it calibrates itself and then goes solid and I can move the steering again. You can also try resetting the end points to see if that helps get it working right again.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV hi, yea that makes sense with bending the connectors! Will do that today. Thanks!
I cant reset the ending point, cause "IF" the gyro blinks and there is contact, i cant even steer. I turn the wheel on my radio controller but the servo or wheels didnt make any nooise or movement. But the gyro seems to be active, cause i cant push the wheel direction by hand. Its locked in the middle(streight direction)
LED just slowely blinks. As if the gyro is out of connection somehow. Anyways, I will try to make a solid connection and then.....
This little car is so much fun! I instantly could make perfect powerslides or drifts.
My 1:18 LDRC Nsx was not halt the fun(even with the dasmikro installed) as this little car is.
Im affraid though, that it want last long. Are there parts that can be swaped? The plastic gears for example? Or a other motor? Servo swap? Its SO MUCH fun this tiny car!
@@AirToGroundRCFPV ok, little update. The gyro works flawlessly now. Just the connection isnt stable. I dont know if i can solder the tiny wired to the even tinier contact pins.
it works also for gymkhana car?
Yep, the setup is the same for all 4 cars.
Could a dumborc g01 be put on it?
Most likely, as long as the connectors are similar.
Its 4 wd do you really neec gyro on this
If you don't think it's necessary then get one without a gyro.
They've also released a gyro version recently for $5 more than the regular ones, and it also has a gain knob on the remote!
Another undocumented feature of the gyro versions is that you can save your steering trim and it doesnt reset everytime you turn off
Awesome, I will look into those. Yeah that steering trim bs is pretty annoying, glad they are fixing that. I wonder how good the gyro is on those versions though since cheap gyros don't usually perform very well. What they really need to do is add better suspension especially since the rear has none. Thanks for letting me know, I wasn't expecting another version yet.
awesome....aliexpress sellers are still selling the regular ones mostly for almost double the price now. will have to wait a few months i guess for it to become available for a decent price?
@@Ezio470 I don't know if they will drop the price down to what they were before until after Christmas maybe if at all. I just had to spend 40 with shipping on one that comes with the gyro now just because I wanna do a video on it. Since the demand went up, the price followed and it's getting harder to justify spending that much on a little car like that. Hopefully they will bring the price back down one day but it might not be until they come out with a version two or something either.
Best bet is to try and get one when AliExpress has one of their sales or find some coupons. I doubt they are cheaper on any other site but look around maybe you will get lucky.
@@Ezio470try just searching for “1/43 gyro” and you should get better results
So that's why mine went all crazy huh
I don't know, which part of what I talked about do you think caused it? Did you put the gain too high or was it the way you mounted it?
Too much gain, thanks for the help, I'll tone it down and see if it works, but right now I'm at uni haha
@@jose.p1527 Gotcha, yea that's probably it then
@@AirToGroundRCFPVyeah , but now it won't even work, like, it is not wobbly but it just straitens out the car and won't turn
Also I plan on buying the new gyro variant of the rc, you think id be able to sue the v6 on it? The contorler has a gyro gain knob
