Michael Peterson Interesting. Unless the seal was bad and you didn't put the cap on tight I'm not sure these would leak. Been very happy with these. Always make sure the seals are in good shape.
Does that funnel work for filling the bottles at a gas station? I'm not carrying a measuring cup on my bike. And I need a way to fill the bottles out on the road. Also, many people have inquired about that funnel. Can't find the number you gave anywhere. It looks to be the perfect size for the bottle. Informative video....Thanks!
There are several companies that make similar bottles in 1.5l now. This seems like a good system though. These bottles are rugged and will stand up to a ton of abuse. If you ever camp... it’s not much more bulk to add one of the stoves these bottles are made for. Several models will burn gasoline.
so these bottles filled with gas are safe to carry in a vehicle also? how long can you store fuel in these bottles? if i keep couple of these bottles filled in my vehicle for emergency like i have spare tire, is it safe to keep these bottles filled with gas for like 6 months or even a year?
Farhaan Tariq Well, let me say I do carry them. Do so at your own risk though. I never leave gas in them more than about 6 months. I'll use it then refill with fresh gas.

I only didn't get fuel bottles because both brands I could find, including msr, are made in China. I got a traditional USA made 1 gal gas can. Fits perfectly in my side case, using half the case space. I am looking at other options still, but no China made. It shouldn't be needed these days.
These are steel and vented. Rated for fuel...just like your actual gas tank. Why carry a water bottle? If you don’t have the sense or $20 please stay off the road.

Thanks. You cannot use the funnel at the gas station to refill the bottles. The funnels are at my local Walmart and Meijer.

these bottles are made for backpacking i believe, MSR makes several gas stoves i would be comfortable carrying them in the car
Do these have vented caps?
You can fill it to the top if you only use it as a fuel storage container, but not if you use it with a stove.
