      Depends on where you live. Several local companies in my area offer training, including ours. Cutting keys with any of the high security cutters is not an issue (at least duplicating). It's programming BMWs, VWs, Mercedes that's an issue. Most out of the box programmers do not program them. It is a pretty specific skill, and it's something my company chooses not to do.

      By code, I'm assuming you mean the code for the key cuts. There are companies that provide you the code information using the VIN number. You need to be verified as a locksmith with them and you need to provide customer's proof of ownership for the car before they will give you that info. Then yes, once you have that information you can use the SEC E9 to cut the Key.

    Would you recommend the SEC E9 over the HPC Blitz for the only code machine on a van?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I asked my shop manager that very question after we tested our first one. If all you are doing is automotive and house keys the SEC E9 is going to take care of it. But the blitz will support a ton of different keyways that the SEC E9 doesn't have in their db.
      So it really will depend on what kind of services you are going to perform and the variety of keys you expect to be seeing.

      Do you typically buy the SEC E9 with all 12 clamps?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theone-so9br We have, but not always. It's a matter of choice. The Tibbe keys can be cut on an HPC if you have that adapter. Tubular keys can be cut on a tubular key cutter (and that cutter is less than the cost of the clamp). Flat sided keys can be cut on any old key machine. So it just depends on what you prefer and how you plan to setup.

    Wouldnt the Miracle A9 have been a better choice since the SEC is just a knock off of the Miracle a9?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they are basically the same. I bought a Miracle A5 when it first came out, and we were happy with it.
      I do believe the SEC E9 is about $2,000 less than the Miracle A9 though.

      Just bought another one for a new location. I love them. And they are now sold/supported by a US distributor.

    Even before you started talking about the sec e9 I was gonna gripe about it, but I'm curious how many people get lemons with those, I had one lemon, but it cut me hundreds of keys before it went out. I like the machines, I'm just worried about them constantly.

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have three of them and have not yet had any issues with any of them. Even if I did, I could replace them four times before spending the same amount of money on the "American" version. Which, most likely, comes out of the same factory.

    What would you need to invest in to program German vehicles? Could you by chance give me a link to what we need to invest in to reprogram and cut for German vehicles, please? Thanks in advance. Hope you're well.
