Massive thanks to Cug for being the best NY Deli guide ever! Where shall we go, what shall we eat, who shall we eat it with next? Send us your ideas.... jollygreatideas.com
Y'all didn't eat the Jewish deli classics.
just like the south korea trip, do a new york city trip
@@Joeshapiro7 zionists dont have any delicacies, they stole from others
Cug looks like a budget version of Nickelback's lead Chad Kroeger.
Submitted two ideas!
I love Cug's humor. "You could always go back to accounting" "Yeah, I could also kill myself". That had me rolling.
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT 🤣🤣 he’s so witty in the best way and he had me dying

The set up to that Ratatouille joke was sublime
Hahahah you're right 😂😂
Came here to say the same thing. Pure perfection *chef kiss*
100% had him SHOOK when he dropped that line hahahah
God I love seeing the like american just dark humor meeting the snarky british humor, everytime Cug drops a dark joke Josh looks so shocked and I live for it LMAO
because theyd probably get arrested for it in england lol
More likely in the states. "Free squeaks "lol...
josh and ollie are the posh brits so dark humour is a bit improper for them but there are plenty brits that do dark jokes
@@Keno9988 lol, no. Watch any comedy set by Jimmy Carr. In America he'd be hunted. The UK has FAR more intensely dark humour than any American comedian could even think of saying. UK dark humour is about 1 million years ahead. I'm not even from the UK and I know this.

“ I want to met a baby that talks like that”. Best line in this video😂😂😂
😂 can you imagine? 🤣🤣
‘Sandwich geologist’. WHAT A JOB DESCRIPTION 😂

Definitely a sneaky and hilarious insult.
@@dizzysic2587 why an insult siney characters are mostly adorable, if they are not the villain- and even than there are people loving them :D
@@kaahfee the insult aspect was a friendly one. My friends and I roast eachother from a place of love.
That insult is so funny
I dunno I think he was kinda hurt
The Ratatouille question was one of the funniest moments ever LOL
I can't believe Ollie went there!!!😂😂😂😂
with the "New Yorkers are rude" thing I liked a thing Brennan Lee Mulligan said about New Yorkers. It was something along the lines of "New Yorkers aren't nice, but they are kind." Like they may not smile and start small talk when they see you, but if you are on hard times they will help.
It's the difference between nice vs mean, and polite vs rude.
We are the same way in Jersey. We may not always come off as nice but we'll give you the shirt off our backs if you need it.
Moving from NYC to the South, you learn that difference. You can be friends with someone down here for 10 yrs and never really know them. They'll never invite you over to their house.
In NY, if you make a friend, you'll hear their life story and they'll invite you to meet their family. Friend for life.
@@bodyofhopeThat’s not my experience in the South. When I lived in the South, I was often invited to gatherings at people’s homes. People often host crawfish boils and fish fries at their homes and invite a bunch of people. I went to Myrtle Beach for a few days after extending a work trip. The people were friendly and a few times locals invited me to sit at their tables in restaurants. Your problem might be your vibe. Mine is very approachable and friendly.
@@anndeecosita3586 Yeh Im from the NYC/NJ area, and I find the opposite of what the other person wrote to be true. Is NYCers that dont invite people over because lets face it; what is there to see? The apartments are super tiny.
I grew up in Brooklyn and I have to say that his accent is really pronounced. Wow. I do love that he is showing them real Brooklyn-italian foods
He's from Staten Island. Also, as I'm sure you know, NYC accents aren't really borough specific. They're class and ethnicity specific.
@@BP-or2iu to be fair a lot of Brooklynites moved out to Staten Island, Long Island and New Jersey
I'm an American and I need subtitles for Cug!
he sounds exactly like the lunchladies i grew up around 😂
Sounds like everyone else in Dyker Heights. It’s really that bad? Like people can’t understand us?
Having lived in NY for going on 10 years now, I can say that New Yorkers are some of the nicest people out there. They're always willing to help somebody out. Just don't waste their time, cause thats when they get grouchy
I approve of this message
New Yorkers are not nice, but they're kind. Major difference to these other kinds of folks who are nice but they ain't got a hint of generosity in them. A New Yorker can see you having car troubles on the side of a turnpike, call you a moron, and then help you fix your tire, call you an idiot again, pat you on the back, and leave. Gotta fucking love the legit fellas
Yes, we do!
@@AsianAtTheDisco009 Yes! Exactly this!
From the south I can kindly say you're dumb 😂
Maybe the most *BEEPED* episode of Jolly and I love it. lol
He doesn't have much of a vocabulary, that's for sure.

I have been genuinely addicted to your videos for the past few months, you guys are so wholesome and bring me so much joy when ever i watch your stuff. Keep up the great work!! ( also for a collab idea you should do something with Joshua Weissman)
nice profile pic
Same here, I found them last year during the worst part of my life and really needed a good laugh, I've watched most all of Jolly and about half of Korean Englishman l, I absolutely love Rev Chris
I agree Rev Chris is awesome, he really helps show what a good God fearing Christian can act like when on the internet
They actually already did! It was short, but they did a bit with him in their Texas Barbecue video. You'll like it!
@annadoncaster2427 oh cool, thanks for telling me, I didn’t know that. I will watch it right away!
I would love to see Cug in London and Seoul!! His NY reactions would be priceless!!
Can i just say as a local how much i'm loving this authentic NYC experience. I've seen these guys do NYC before and they went to high end steak restaurants and gourmet pizza in little Italy, like special occasion spots. It's refreshing to see bagel shops and delis; the places we go to everyday....BTW no such thing as an invalid NYC stereotype. Whatever you imagine a New yorker is, someone in this city fits that description, i promise you.
Cug!!! What a collab!
Jesus loves you ❤️ Please repent and turn to him and receive Salvation before it is too late. The end times written about in the Bible are already happening in the world. Jesus is the son of God and he died for our sins on the cross and God raised him from the dead on the third day. Jesus is waiting for you with open arms but time is running out. Please repent and turn to him before it is too late. Accept Jesus into your heart and invite him to be Lord and saviour of your life and confess and believe that Jesus is Lord, that he died for your sins on the cross and that God raised him from the dead. Confess that you are a sinner in need of God's Grace and ask God to forgive you for all your sins through Jesus.
Jesus loves you. Nothing can compare to how he loves you. When he hung on that cross, he thought of you. As they tore open his back, he thought of your prayer time with him. As the thorns dug into his head, he thought of you spending time in the word of God. As the spears went into his side, he imagined embracing you in heaven. Jesus longs to be with you. Please repent and turn to him before it is too late.
I remember a Deli owner Ferris, near Whitestone, when me and my date didn’t have a safe place to go. He would let us just eat deli sandwiches in his deli, behind the counter. I could not believe his kindness and still touches me til this day. Also gave great life advice.
What a lovely story and memory! ❤
❤
Cug really takes this, already hysterical duo, and kicks it up a notch. Another great video guys.
Tell me Cug doesn't sound like Ray Romano lol
He even looks like him. 😂
Yes and looks like him! 😂😂
I was just trying to figure out who his voice reminds me of lol ty🤗
Everybody Loves Raymond!
Sounds like Joey Ramone
I wasn't sure where that Ratatouille bit was going but then I saw the side profile lol
Cug is quite shy xxx so sweet
Vodka sauce is just classic Italian. It’s a basic marinara sauce spiced up with vodka and a few more spices with a splash of cream at the end to smooth it out. Simple and delicious.
I never knew how badly we all needed this collab. Absolutely legendary
Did you see the previous episode with Cug?
Food in NYC is amazing!! I also found people really helpful when I got lost a few times. But keep in mind there are millions of people in NYC and most are on their way somewhere.
My friend and I got lost walking around NYC. To give credit, people on the street were very helpful in giving directions.
So glad you always include Ducky and Luke.
Ollie always cracks me up! 😂😂 He has no filter and just says whatever he’s thinking. I think he really enjoys embarrassing Josh. 😂😂
hearing two guys with accents be incredulous abt another guy's accent is so funny
Never saw Cug before, but love his sense of humor. I’m from the South, we love to hear that NY accent. This video makes me want to go to New York and do a “deli tour.”
If anyone lives in NJ/NY there's a corner store type place/grocery store in Newark next to a dollar store
I don't remember the name but there's usually an ambulance or cop car outside
Anyways, asian guy in the deli in the back makes the best most obscenely stuffed cold cut Sandwiches I've ever had in my life
lol Cug is such an authentic NYer. He reminds me of so many people in my life 😂
He ain’t an authentic New Yorker. He is an authentic Staten Islander perhaps but New Yorker? Nah. I was born here in Manhattan and that dude is nowhere near the people I grew up around in Morningside Heights as an example. This dude sounds straight out of central casting for a stereotypical caricature of an Italian American New Yorker.
Y'all this was hilariously awkward😂 I mean Ollie was just roasting the poor guy❤
He has a huge channel. They are doing this together. They didn’t pick someone off the street
Oh trust me, New Yorkers roast each other way harder.
@@mikedirado4270 i know who he is boo boo 😂🩷 I just noticed Ollie bullying him a lil too much 😭
He is so immature! He can be inappropriate a lot times. I love a good sense of humor and outgoing people but constantly acting up and at the expense of others not so funny.
@@DeeMontezx1 yeah
NYC chronically underappreciated for its sandwich culture. This episode is gold.
That makes no sense. NYC is considered the deli sandwich capital of the world.
Again, these are things I grew up with in New York. If you want ideas try looking for Greek Restaurants, German, French, Austrian, Hungarian, Armenian & Polish Restaurants in New York that are passed down in families. You get foods that are amazing.
No truer words spoken, girl from Queens who misses a real variety of authentic international foods!
Send that to their ideas web site - it's a brilliant idea!
Lots of good Halal joints as well that aren't as expensive. I can still get shwarma for $8 bucks, post-covid. Same quality as a greek gyro for 5 bucks less.
I’m from Chicago the Greeks can cook good af
Good news, boys: the ingredients for those sandwiches exist in the UK. You just have to get the stuff and fresh, toasty bread, and violà!
Plus there are actually places, e.g. Dom’s Subs in London plus many others across the UK that do sell sandwiches like this… these videos are great until they continually show their ignorance and make out that the UK doesn’t have EVERYTHING under the sun here
@@Nooticuscan be a future episode for Jolly…
@@NooticusIf you think cured meats in the UK are the same as the U.S. that is more ignorant than claiming those cured meats don't exist in the UK.
@@NooticusIt’s not the same experience.
@@liamengram6326a lot of the Italian cold cuts around here(northern NJ native) are commonly imported from Italy. So at least the Italian subs should be able to be mimicked fairly accurately in the UK. But can’t speak for stuff like pastrami, roast beef , corned beef and even Turkey over there.
I've not seen Cug before and now I am a big fan. What a lovely guy.
I'm from Toronto, and I've been to NYC quite a few times. I LOVE New Yorkers. Not rude. Just awesome in your face people. Another great vid Jollies!
Cug looks like a Disney character, I love him.
I love watching you guy not only because you reviews great food, but I want to see what the heck comes out of ollys mouth. 😂
3:49 New Yorkers and jersey blokes aren’t mean sure they may have a no fucks to give attitude and a bit rough around the edges but they’re the most genuine people I’ve ever met
100%
It's true, us Jersey folk are very genuine and we'll give the shirt off our backs if it means helping someone.
I could not stop smiling! Cug is the most chill, funny dude.
I'd love to see these boys take a gourmet cooking class, or a BBQ class, etc or a series of them! I think the content would be hilarious! Definitely my (very) "short list" of favorite Brits! Such nice fellas!
Since I watch with subtitles: Cug says "prosciutt" at 1:52 and 8:45, as in prosciutto. Contact me for more NY Italian translations!
Every time this guy speaks I think of Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond. But really, those sandwiches look absolutely delicious. Thanks for taking us along.
When Ollie was asking that Ratatouille question, I kinda guessed where he was going with it, but was still kinda surprised he actually said it 😂😂😂
My heart is breaking! American living in Ireland. I can’t find a proper deli here.
Always great to watch your videos...but with a guest (native) who can walk you through it, was amazing. So funny.
This was hysterical. I have Italian family in Bay Ridge--felt like he was talking just like family--including the slang. LOL. Forget UK having such an amazing ethnic deli--we need those outside of NYC. Chain sub shops do not even compare.
My favourite accountant joke: 'What do accountants use for birth control?' Answer: 'Their personalities'.
I was reminded of that joke when Cug said he quit his accountancy job after five days because it was boring.
Had a good laugh at that. 😅
Another great episode JOLLY! 😍
To be fair as a Midwesterner, I understand Josh and Ollie far better than I can understand Cug
Cug sounds like Ray Romano lol. I love it!
Genuinely have nothing but Love & Respect for you guys... and I include the entire crew. ❤ Just makes me happy to watch ya'll. Keep em coming!
As a British-Italian I just can't understand Cug's accent at all🤣🤣🤣 Love it! Just no idea what he's saying half the time! The Sandwiches look fantastic, even though I have no idea what half the ingredients are😅 What's "bijou"?
Your descendants probably won't call themselves Italian after like a dozen generations in England though. In the US they do, which is why the dialect is its own beast with almost no connection with Italian. Super funny ways of saying things like stracciatella and capocollo.
Gabagool is capicollo.
I'm Italian, I think he was trying to say "prosciutto", but for some reason they wrote bijou in the subtitles 😂. Other ingredients were burrata, stracciatella (he mispronounced it as stracchiatella), mortadella and capocollo, which becomes gabagool in the italian-american lingo.
@@Mat-lq6uzhe wasn’t TRYING to say prosciutto but was using the dialectical southern Italian/Sicilian pronunciation for prosciutto that predominates in the NY area as most Italian Americans there trace their ancestry to the south.
@@riccamacho6292 I also speak a southern dialect and I can assure you that's not how it is pronounced, let alone sicilian which is very different. But I know italian-american had his own local evolution, I did not meant it as an offense, I like italian-american culture.
I said I THINK he was trying to say that, not that i was sure. I guess I was wrong and he just used new york italian pronunciation, I'm no expert in that. But that's not how anyone in Italy would say it, because italian-american speech had a different evolution from italian and regional dialects.
Katz or Sarges are the best Jewish Deli's in New York City. Try either the Pastrami or Corn Beef on Rye. And most people put mustard on it
These are a must the next time you come to New York City. Katz Deli has been around since 1903.
FINALLY! Been waiting for you guys to try this as I am a NYer who eats Deli Sandiwches almost every day for lunch at work! Bagels, Pizzza and Deli Sandwiches = NYC!
It's so funny how every single time that Ollie takes the first bite, he always holds onto the food while Josh is antsy and has to lean over to take it from Ollie. Without fail lol😅
People can be fired if that is not followed? Who is the boss?
i love cug so much, collab i didn't know i needed. please bring him back, he has much to show you.
The Ratatouille joke was funny AF and Cug going with it make it better 🤣🤣🤣
To the person who did the captions, God bless you. If you have not familiar with NY/NJ Italianisms it must have been a challenge in some places.
Here are a few things I noticed that are not quite right:
- When he was talking about the vodka sauce, he had marinar' (marinara).
- In the places that say joux or bijou in the captions, he is saying proscuit (proscuitto).
Olly: "You can always go back to accounting."
Cug: "Yeah, I can always kill myself, too."
😂
it's always a good day when jolly has the craziest collaborations keep it up man!
As someone currently in an accounting program, I can definitely understand Cug’s commentary on his experience. It’s definitely not a field you should be in if you don’t enjoy learning and occasionally being a little bored or miserable 😂

Cug rules. Epic laughter during this. Thank yall from Texas.
Funny how these guys can speak great Korean but can’t understand someone speaking the same language just with a different accent 😂
I'm pretty good with languages but when someone is Southern Scottish I'm only picking up every 3rd word and I feel stupid...lol

11:53 Eeeyyy, Ollie getting his flowers for the journalism! 👏👏
Omg-😂 i just discovered that the majority of this episode was being played face down on my living room rug, unaware that it was still running after i thought i paused it. Upon coming back into the room i thought the voices were coming from some neighbors from outside, & then looked down & saw my phone facedown on the rug - WHAT A MAROON!

Such high respect for sharing bites together

Watching this made me think of my two favorite subs in college which were every bit of 10% of the solid food I ate.
Patsy's had an eggplant parmesan sub that was a religious experience for me.
The Brooklin Pickle had an Italian sub where rather than banana peppers to spice it up you used a relish of chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, sub dressing and crushed cherry peppers which was allowed to marinate for three days.
Listening to your channel while I work makes work so much more enjoyable. 😂
I hope you also went to Katz’s or 2nd Avenue Deli to try traditional New York Jewish deli. It’s not a real NY Deli if you can’t get matzo ball soup

If you're Italian-American, chances are you've heard capicolla pronounced as "gabagool," mozzarella as “mutzadell," and ricotta as “ree-goat ” LOVED THIS VIDEO OF ALL YOUR VIDEOS! God Bless!
Originally from Syracuse, located to Oklahoma in 1969 and I still pronounce gabagool, mutz and ree-got. That’s why. But no deli like a NY deli 😢
I love the three of you together. Your friend is so nice he has a great accent, and I love his hair.
