They still have fat inside which warms them, there may be discomfort before movement, but they are already created that way. It is not possible to speak for animals. But I think it doesn’t hurt them, the skin must be thick to glide on the ice. Otherwise there would be a constant belly covered in wounds and blood. How painful it is for people to slip and scratch on ice in winter. 🥺
