    These videos are amazing. What is the real purpose of the fins? Are they just a training thing?

    • @RocketSwimming
      @RocketSwimming  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your compliments. Fins are for isolating your drills. If you want to practice pulls, then fins will help you because you don't have to focus on kicking. Fins are also used for diving in the deep water.

    I can do the pineapple floats easily now, I couldn’t learn freestyle breathing for the longest time, then I tried the side pineapple, boy was it a relief when I found out I could finally breathe, but I find that it slows me down when I start pulling again with the recovery arm, like I have to almost start over 😮…am I doing something wrong here? please help Johnny 😢 Grateful for having learnt so much from you 🙏

    • @RocketSwimming
      @RocketSwimming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Your progress is really good. I am glad that side pineapple helped you. About the slowing down. I suggest you to kick harder at the same time you are breathing. Try not to bring your head too high above the surface of the water as it head too high above the water sinks the lower body. Can you send me your footage on videos@rocketswimming.co so I can properly analyze your stroke?

      Thank you so much! Those are the sun glasses I'm wearing but I suggest you to wear dedicated swimming goggles when swimming. Swimming goggles have straps. You can loose sunglasses in the water when swimming as they can easily come off.

    When he is breathing with Kickboard is he blowing out thru the mouth and breathing in thru the mouth. I’m learning and was told to breath out thru nose fully submerged in the water and bop my head up to breath in thru mouth. I keep sinking and panicking.

    • @RocketSwimming
      @RocketSwimming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's up to you if you want to breathe through your mouth or nose. Some swimmers use nose clips to prevent breathing in through their nose. I suggest to practice both nose and mouth breathing.

    Why do you teach the pineapple first?

    • @RocketSwimming
      @RocketSwimming  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! Teaching the "pineapple" technique first helps beginners get comfortable with floating on their backs. It also helps them establish good body positioning, which is essential for efficient swimming. By starting with the basics, like floating, you can build a strong foundation for more advanced swimming techniques later on.

    There is it enough room in that pool for him to add the 2 strokes after he turns back onto his belly before the deep end starts…it’s very frustrating to watch because it’s almost like he’s trying to “swim in place” without moving because he doesn’t want to go into deep end. I don’t know why you don’t use your long lap pool instead of this one…there’s more room. I realize you’re trying to get him comfortable swimming near deep water and that you are the expert and know what you are doing a million times more than I do….its just frustrating to watch. Not trying to be disrespectful in any way…I love your videos and have learned so much from watching your lessons.

      I appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. It's important to note that teaching swimming can sometimes involve gradual progressions, especially when helping someone overcome a fear of deep water.
      I assure you that every step in our swimming lessons are carefully considered, with the safety and comfort as top priorities. Thank you for your support and understanding. Your feedback is valuable, and I'm grateful for your continued viewership.

      @@RocketSwimmingThis is especially true for adults such as myself who learned to swim as an older adult. That fear of water is real. I remember my husband tried so many times to have me just fall into his arm so he could teach me the back float, but it never worked because I was so scared and thus tense so I would just sink. Thank you. 😊
