    Switch the aperture to the marksman. It can still be used in closer-medium ranges. It also doesnt have the downside of having the terrible aperture.

      The aperture isn't for everyone, which is understandable. I like it personally. I feel like most players have a hard time using a scope at closer ranges unless they main snipers though, and the aperture at least has the advantage that you can switch to iron sights on low vis maps. Boils down to player preference more than anything ofc, what is most comfortable for the player will ultimately be the better choice

    Love it. I use the new Mako Aperture instead but same concept. Great video!!!

      Thank you! I just couldn't get the Mako to click with me, but Bizzerk and Thistlewayne (from my streams) have used it to great effect in this setup.

    Pennyshot derringer compensates the close range deficit, if you dont mind passing on flaregun/poison mine

    I like the extreme variety that comes with Solo loadouts. There are hundred out there and every single one fits a different playstyle. Me personally I like to use the Cenntenial with bleed and a handcrossbow with poison darts. Of course, at long and short ranges I am at a clear disadvantage, but I can work best with the loadout im familiar with. Perhaps I will try this loadout in my next session, and see if it is perhaps one I can work with and integrate into my arsenal.

      That's the great thing about Hunt right? There is a load out to suit anyone's play style, helps a lot with replayability. Centennial/Hand Crossbow is an excellent choice, I played it just last night on stream actually. I hope the Everything Loadout does well for you!

      @@impossibleironman I tried it out last night with my guys, its actually pretty good. The Lebel Diopter definitely is a good weapon, especially with Spitzer. Also has a big magazine which makes it possible to stay in the fight longer before having to reload. The Drilling I could never really get accustomed to. Because of weeklies I instead used Uppercut precision and sometimes Uppermat. Although I will probably try to get a medium shotgun into the mix. Something like the Rival sounds very fitting. I will experiment a bit.

      Thanks for the feedback! Ultimately you have to use what feels comfortable for you above all else, and I understand that the Drilling feels clunky for some. Uppermat is a similar choice and gives you some ammo stacking, I've seen a couple comments now suggesting it as a substitute, and it's a good one without a doubt. Glad to hear you enjoyed experimenting with it and potentially found a variant to add to your arsenal!

    What about centi sniper + lemat ?
    You got range, ammonspeed, fanning, pénétration, and slug

    • @impossibleironman
      @impossibleironman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A decent loadout for sure. I think the main issue with the setup however is the damage fall-off on the Centennial compared to long ammo. If you're comfortable clicking heads with it and/or used to using it more at medium range (approximately 75-100m) that's one thing, but at the ranges you want to fight at with the Lebel (125m or more), the Centennial will often require 3 tags to put someone down if you're not getting consistent headshots. Also, while scopes are easier to see through than the aperture, scopes become a hindrance on low vis maps (granted there are no low vis maps in rotation besides night time, temporarily). As far as the LeMat, it's a well rounded choice, but you're losing out on the bigger shotgun barrel of the Drilling, even with slugs it almost never one taps unless someone is extremely close (under 10m). You also lose out on the melee tool of the hatchet, which means you lose the extra flexibility of having the open tool slot. Personally, I also don't like relying on fanning rng, not saying it's bad but it lets me down more often than not. All in all a solid loadout, but when compared to the Everything Loadout it loses out on range, power, and flexibility.

    I usually remove quartermaster on my loadouts if a hunter comes with it but I'm gonna try this out tonight. The everything loadout is about to get stress tested by a scrub 😂

    How do you think this load out would compare against slate+uppercut?

    • @impossibleironman
      @impossibleironman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Slate+Uppercut is a solid loadout, one I play frequently actually. Slate is obviously going to handle close quarters better and when paired with the Uppercut will generally handle compound fights better (depending on the compound of course, something like Fort Bolden will favor the Everything Loadout). This means that it will handle defending a banish more efficiently as well. There's also personal preference to consider, sometimes you play better with a certain set-up regardless of how it looks on paper. Outside of those scenarios however, the Everything Loadout will outperform it in every way. The Uppercut has less damage fall off than the Drilling Hatchet (with dumdum rounds, FMJ is a much closer comparison), but the extremely fast two shot will usually be more important at mid range. The Lebel with Iron Eye will compensate for anything else in said situation. At long range you can keep up against Mosin loadouts, and will outperform them if you find an opportunity to push. The flexibility of the Everything Loadout also helps more in teams, since you can play at multiple ranges, you can adjust to the play style of your team mates. They want to rotate more? You have long range. They want to push? You have slugs. Ultimately, if you're more comfortable with close range loadouts, the Slate will probably feel better to use, but if you're more of a "jack of all trades" player then the Everything Loadout will feel comfortable pretty quickly.

      @@impossibleironman Thanks for the detailed answer. Slate+uppercut has been my go to for a while but I've always wanted to try the drilling. Drilling hatchet just has so much going for it but I'm terrible with the iron sights. Something about the uppercut sights or maybe just its handling lets me hit way more headshot than even a mosin (prob just weapon familiarity).
      Also about the Everything Loadout, I think the uppercut precision deadeye could be a strong contender for the long range weapon. Lebel is great and all but I don't think the aperture sights do it justice along with quartermaster being a requirement.

    • @impossibleironman
      @impossibleironman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that's a creative suggestion, especially if you're more comfortable with the Uppercut. Perhaps pair it with the Slate Riposte so you don't lose out on the free tool slot. Might give that a try myself

    Definetely the most versatile loadout that comes in my mind. Lebel aperture may not be as good as the marksman for sniping, but If you get used to the aperture it's not bad at all and you get a strong long ammo rifle, good in any situation and weather conditions. The driling hatchet Is definetely the most versatile weapon in the game... However It trades its versatility being a bit too "clunky". I'm sure there is a good dose of "skill issues" on my side, but in hight mmr, where there are a lot of good players that move confindently, fast and herratic and using specific weapons for medium and close range, i'm having an hard time. 2 bullets and 1 shotgun shell it's not much, especially when reloading It it's PAINFULLY slow. Against carabines, fanning, levering, shotguns, katanas.... Even multiple opponents are hard to counter. The hatchet can save the day at times, but even there... the range and the animation are not the greatest.

    • @impossibleironman
      @impossibleironman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Drilling Hatchet definitely struggles against teams of all shotguns. It's there more for kiting opponents who try to push you, or sealing the deal when forcing a 1v1 to finish off a team. In general, something like a Dolch P will perform better in a compound fight, but you lose out on versatility and a more efficient melee weapon. I think it boils down to player preference ultimately, I like having the utility of death traps as well as chokes/decoy fuses, I get a lot of use out of them. The Drilling takes some getting used to, and it's understandable to prefer a choice that is less punishing should the shots not connect.

    close! it's lebel aperture and dolch precision though. the dolch is just too good. yeah yeah at the closest range you might trade shots with a shotgun and get downed without the trade, but outside of that, if you hit them first at close range, they will aimpunch off you, and you will 9/10 hit the second before they have the chance to shoot again. and it's just so dominant at 10-40 meters you just can't not take it. that being said, if you're taking a fresh hunter and can't take bulletgrubber, drilling hatchet plus mako aperture is the second best for sure. Though- the uppermat is arguably a sidegrade to the drilling. can't two tap as fast, but can one tap downed hunters, shoots almost as quickly at a sustained rate, and most importantly, stacks ammo.

    • @impossibleironman
      @impossibleironman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I definitely won't sit here and dispute the proven success of the Dolch. As far as the comparison goes, this is meant to offer an alternative to that playstyle. While both guns have bleed, I like the consistent two-tap on the Drilling, and the hatchet helps free up a tool slot. Having that extra tool option does a lot for flexibility, in teams it means I can have death traps while still running chokes, or as a solo it means I can create immense pressure using the bleed rounds and a decoy fuse follow-up. Personally, I prefer having the variety of options at my disposal, as it works with my playstyle and I wanted to present it to players who like to play in a similar fashion. Again, Dolch P is meta for a reason and is great for the reasons you pointed out. As far as the Uppermat goes, the main appeal is certainly the ability to down someone who has lost a 25. That being said, the Lebel is already being used and will most likely handle a revive in place of the secondary anyway. The ammo stacking is nice, but the resupply is awful, and once you're out in a prolonged fight you're out of options. The Lebel will run out faster without the stacking, but the Drilling has so much reserve ammo that it serves as a reliable back up when the Lebel needs a resupply. The sway is also significantly lower than the Uppermat, and the shotgun mode is far more reliable on the Drilling (obviously having the bigger barrel). Bottom line, all excellent options, but most people already know about the Dolch/Uppermat loadout variants. The Drilling setup approaches the meta from a different angle and offers a more tactical approach than its counterparts.
