It’s baffling to me that Kirsten Dunst is one of the most influential actresses of our time and yet she gets little recognition. Fargo was nominated plenty of times but never won (I think). She has been in so many great movies and you don’t really see people hyping for her, except for her role in Spider-Man which a lot of people loved. One of her movies that is an absolute masterpiece is Melancholia. I just cannot understand why she isn’t receiving more praise, she is very talented and had so many iconic roles. But she seems well and happy, I’m glad that she’s doing alright. Can’t wait to see this new movie she’s in
Something I’ve always thought put into words. This comment is exactly how I’ve felt for many years. I also cannot wrap my head around how she does not get the recognition she deserves. Her talent and mesmerizing looks. The whole package. It’s like Hollywood put her on a lone island and forgets she’s there, it’s baffling to me.
@@lisettegarcia sorry. I was trying to say that she is one of the best actress that started as a child in the 90s. Kirsten, Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams.

I was in the studio audience during this taping with Kirsten Dunst and Wilmer Valderrama. The original Spider-Man film trilogy was a huge part of my childhood, so seeing Kirsten in person (was in the front row seating area) was such a surreal/emotional experience (I also worked with an actor on a film 4 years ago that used to be friends with her/attend parties). She was very nice when not filming as well. The Spider-Man fan/that kid that saw the Spider-Man trilogy in theaters is very happy \m/. A full circle experience :D.
She should've been nominated for Melancholia. It's probably her best work so far not to mention she won a Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival but not nominated for an Oscar is a total crime. Can't express how truly phenomenal she was in that movie
She should have been on her fourth nomination this year: one for "Interview with the Vampire", another for "Marie Antoinette", a third for "Melancholia" and this fourth one for "The Power of the Dog".
It's really interesting because the impression I get of Dunst from reading her interviews is completely different to seeing interviews and appearances on talk shows... It's surprising just how much the perception of someone can change going from one medium to another. She seems so genuine and kind and honest in this and man, I want to see her in more films!
I bought that season of Fargo on DVD. Probably seen it five times or more. Kirsten is such a funny quirky character esp paired with Jesse Plemons! That season set a new high bar.

I've seen her in past interviews, she's quite different now and for the better, marriage and motherhood have been beautiful blessings for Kirsten. Also, her husband's seems very sweet and is an enormous talent, ( I remember him in PT Anderson's, "The Master" wonderful performance), I'm sure that's something a talent like hers needed first and foremost.
