Today we go to a local Winery in Orlando to taste some wine and have some lovely food. The day doesn't go as planned and we end up in Hospital.

So glad he's ok. They do say Kidney stones can be more painful than childbirth so the pain could have made him sick. Poor guy. Hope he can enjoy the rest of his holiday.

So pleased Dad is okay, to drink plenty of water to flush the kidneys....no more drama now. Wine garden, restaurant was brilliant how they took care to box everything up. ❤

Poor Leigh’s Dad. Do hope he was able to enjoy the rest of the holiday (I am still working my way through your videos chronologically - I’ll catch up eventually). I just went through the same 4 weeks ago - it is a bad pain, I couldn’t sit at all for 5 days. I could stand or I could lie down, that was it. But was lucky it didn’t happen 2 weeks earlier when I was still on holiday in Scotland. Loving the videos. ❤️

These recent posts remind me of all the amazing Years I spent with my parents in Florida in the nineties.
Up until 2016 I owned a small mobile home very near Orlando and escaped the harsh winter in Canada with my late husband. So many places that you are showing we visited. Florida is such a great place for people to enjoy.
It must have brought back a lot of bad memories for u both im so glad he’s ok , I always feel dread if my phone rings late at night always think worse thing after losing both my parents in such a short time, im sending all my love to you both as always xxx
I so felt for your Dad, Leigh. I got a kidney stone in lock down. It was so painful and made me sick too. Hope he's had no more problems. ❤
So glad you’re Dad’s on the road to recovery. We’ve been watching you a few years now and not missed one! I’m currently binging you’re 2019 vlogs. I’m up to June and you’re doing your 4 hour charity walk on the beach. Love the vlogs, makes me laugh and helps me get through the tricky days. Sending positive vibes 😊

I truly feel for your Dad, I had a 6mm kidney stone which I had to have removed. The pain when they are moving is excruciating. Hope he is feeling loads better now. The wine tasting looked lovely and how nice of them to box everything up for you

Glad to your Dad seems improved. Island Grove looks very interesting. The food they boxed up for you looked great. You did a very good job of recreating the fanciness of the the food when you plated it up.
Glad you're dad is okay. I had a kidney stone years ago. I was septic and I now have stage 3 kidney disease in my right kidney because of it. I had to have it blasted. They are nothing to mess with!

What a day!! I`m so sorry your dad had to go through that; it must`ve been really scary for him and your mum, especially in a different country! Luckily you already knew what to expect and could reassure them. It sounds as if they were well looked after and hopefully travel insurance will cover all of the costs` You had such a lovely experience planned for them too, but the winery were lovely about packing everything up.
I am staying in the GF in September, so excited !the charcuterie board looked very very nice ! I love a good charcuterie board myself ! Yummy glad your dads ok Leigh!

Enjoyed this vlog so much! We are always in the Disney bubble when we go to Orlando so this was a nice change of pace! What a great winery!

Oh, that wine tasting looks great! Would have been a great activity to do with my dad two weeks ago, when we stayed in that area.
Lovely video again with the folks , so glad dad is ok , but it’s scary when things happen like that especially at the moment you are trying to recoup .
Will try the winery when we are there in sept, and that’s a perfect time to go boys too , we do every year and it’s calm in general .

Kidney stones are horrible. In the ER it was always a good and bad thing to diagnose someone with them. Good because it's not something that usually needs emergency surgery, bad because you just gotta pass them. Also this winery is fantastic, they have amazing food and such friendly staff!
Celebration hospital is lovely. My daughter chopped the end of her finger off in Downtown Disney (as it was then ) at the indoor place where all the arcade games were. Everyone from cast members, 911 and the hospital were fantastic. The only problem was we kept getting bills from the hospital up to a year after saying we hadn't paid.

Very painful-
Make sure he stays hydrated because the Florida heat could have caused a bit of dehydration and could have exacerbated it. Hope he is all well soon
Grand Floridian hotel is ace. Stayed when I got married at the wedding pavilion. Glad your dads ok

When you started described his symptoms I knew you were going to say kidney stone. I had the same kind of pain and it was horrible. It changed my drinking habits and I now drink way more water that I did before and touch wood I’ve been ok since. Hope he recovers 👍

This was indeed a very eventful vlog! Those wines did sound interesting - I know fruit wines are out there, but aside from wines made with grapes, I’ve not had much experience with them. I’m sure the kidney stones were incredibly unpleasant for Leigh’s dad, and I’m glad he got taken care of so well. No one ever wants to get sick when they’re away from home, but it sounds as though everything turned out all right.
We have been to that lovely hospital in celebration. My wife fell off her bike in celebration and badly sprained her ankle. We managed to get back to our hotel in disney and they called out the disney paramedics who came to our room at the time they didn't think she needed to go to hospital but after a week it was still not much better so our insurance company sent us to celebration hospital, no 4 hour wait there. After proving we had insurance she had 4 xrays seen by orthopaedic surgeon and given a boot, they were even going to arrange physio. We were in and out in about 1.5hours. I remember she had a coloured wristband that showed she had insurance and didn't need to pay anything, I would hate to think how much it would of cost. Hope Leighs dad is on the mend
I'm glad your Dad is ok!! My ex-husband once had a kidney stone over the middle of the Pacific Ocean coming back from Hawaii. The crew thought that he was having a heart attack and called out for any medical personnel on the plane. After watching for a few minutes, I remembered that he had eaten a lot of spinach in Hawaii and said that I thought he had a kidney stone. They all agreed. We were in an exit row and had the best seats that we had ever had on a plane. They said he could no longer sit there. Bummer.
Your poor dad Leigh, hope he’s back to rights, would love to go to the winery, so many different wines to try, and the food looked smashing, even though it had been boxed up still looked great, Thankyou Nick and Leigh xx

Ouch, oh I can sympathise with your dad. Iv had kidney stones, it was agony, defo worse than child birth!! Morphine was my best friend! Agony😢 hope he's doing OK now. X

Oh Leigh I’m so glad you’re dad is ok. My husband had 35 at one time and had to have 2 surgeries to remove them all. 😬
I sure hope your parents took out traveler insurance since we don’t have state sponsored insurance here. That visit will be a fortune.

So sorry for your fright, hope all goes well with your dad, please don't go home till it's sorted and the stone has gone, my dad had a stone when in Germany in lot's of pain , he wouldn't let them Lazer it , as he chose to be involved in the Berlin airlift reunion, sadly he chose he came back to the uk of which no lazer so backward are we, they operated, I do believe if he had it done in Germany he would still be here now. No putting to sleep, no cutting, In and out within the day.

I always ended up having my eyes closes to Avatar ride as I suffer with vertigo, I'm the same with soarin too can't look down, make me feel sick, but love both rides , need avatar in disney paris
So sorry to hear about your Dad, I'm glad to know he is feeling better. Out of interest and being noisy, what is the US health system like when stuff like this happens, i.e asking for insurance details before doing anything etc etc?
It was brilliant. Called 911 and they were there within ten minutes. Fire engine and Ambulance. They didnt ask for insurance details until he had been treated in hospital then we just had to fill some forms in
I feel for your dad Leigh I had a kidney stone years ago half the size of a grain of rice and the pain my oh my I’d rather have a baby and I’ve had three via c-section hope he feels better soon try and keep away from too much dairy as that can cause you to form them

So glad he's ok, must have been so stressful for all. Glad that his treatment was fast, nothing like the UK. Can I ask a practical question? Just so I know if this kind of thing happens on one of my holidays in UK, do you pay for the treatment then claim it back on travel insurance afterwards?..
No, you just give them your insurance details and they sort it out with the insurance company

Ohh ur poor dad, I had kidney stones doctors kept telling me I was constipated, 1 year later 2cm kidney stone, omg its worse than labour pains I was crippled over with pain I had to have 3 operations in the end hope ur dad's OK x
Hope Leighs dad feeling better now. My husband got rushed in hospital last year with same. Just wondering what would have happened if that happened to him in usa. Does your insurance cover that. Always worry with health stuff when we go to Florida. ❤

Diabetic, but I still eat normal food, I just watch what I eat, limit myself
There is nothing to do at the Swan Reserve Hotel, it is just more rooms for the convention facilities, boring!
