Wonderful views! Thanks for the review! I strongly recommend to visit the castle! This would be also suitable for visiting with kids, as there was a nice entertainment program for kids when i was there.

I visited this amazing castle in 1966 in the days when the German currency was in Deutsch Marks. I don`t remember an entrance fee then, but perhaps the bus tour I was on, from Stuttgart which also visited the University town of Tubingen, may have included the fee for castle entry. The restaurant in the castle was also very affordable then also and I`m glad to hear it still is, and hopefully as good as in 1966.
I have great memories of the trip and I suppose a reasonable castle entry fee will not deter visitors and help to maintain this great German legacy into the future. This is a visit place !!

Your video certainly brought back good memories and I am sure I have kept some old camera photos somewhere of this magical place, that I will try and find. I`ve always remembered seeing this very prominent castle on it`s conical peak from a distance and thinking it looked like something out of a film set

Thank you very much for the nice informative video. I have some questions. Is the access to the inner courtyard free?or do we need to buy the ticket for it. And from where the shuttle journey starts and ends? Is going by foot possible?

You are welcome !!! I'd say it is better to check the official website as they might change some rules. When I visited we had to buy one ticket that included everything- entrance ticket - to the inner yard as well, bus and visiting some rooms inside of the castle. Shuttle journey starts from the parking lot, goes up to the castle and back. It takes 2-3 min with the bus or you can walk around 10 min, it's not that difficult.

Not that easy 🙈 from Stuttgart you can reach Hechingen by train, then there is a bus to Boll Kaiser. Afterwards, it is still more than 3km of walking...

It is not allowed to make photos/videos inside of the castle (as usually)... but as I said, I liked much more the outside
