- Proxima Midnight guide features tips, pros, cons and game play on how to use this interesting and unique character in the Marvel Contest of Champions mobile game. This is my first guide and thought she would be a good choice as she is a rather new champ at least at the time of this character review. The video will be a combination of actual game play video action and also some general talk on how to use Proxima. Much like many of the newer champs she is not just a hit and smash character but has several abilities and methods that help her become a very dangerous player.

I really enjoy Proxima Midnight and I do not regret at all ranking her up. I find her gameplay a lot of fun and trying to get the missions complete to see that extra damage keeps my quite interested. However, since Proxima is not an easy to use cut and slash type champ it can be riskier to use her in pressure situations such as Alliance Wars. Plus, her lack of protection from debuffs such as poison and bleed and her personal buffs that will surely make high level mystic dispersion champs quite happy. Please tell me what you guys and gals think and who you might want to see for my next guide.

You missed a key strength of Proxima. As stated in the description, when blocking she reduces opponent ability accuracy by 200^.
What that means is that Unblockable attacks, for example, are blockable and can be parried. This is extremely valuable for events such as the Uncollected August event versus Hudra Adaptoid.

Thanks for making this video. I recently got her as a 6* and had no idea how to use her. She was hitting so light and I didn't understand how her missions worked. This helps alot

I just got myself a Proxima and remembered you had this - one of your first videos on this series - so ran to check it. Thanks - fantastic as always. That said, it is 1 year something old. Was wondering what's your thoughts on her these days and if changed much?
There is another video about her defensive ability accuracy reduction as well, make sure to check that out, and yes the video is a little dated so things are a little different. I have a love hate relationship with Proxima. She is a lot of fun when you can mission her up and unleash your specials, even 2 missions can take care of most fights with 3 or 4 on the harder missions.
Here is my biggest issue with her, she has crappy block, even the parrying to do one of her missions you just watch the health drop on her against high end opponents, Kabam made her for long fights but didn't give her the health to sustain it. So I find her really good for one or two fights unless you want to heal her up a lot, I do not find she is a great champ for starting a quest path and doing the whole path with her but I do find her useful for that big fight thanks to her shutting down defensive ability accuracy and her damage.
Some people have ranked her to r5 and love her and if you are really good at intercepting even better, she has a long reach and though I used mostly mediums in my videos a lot of proxima players focus on her long light attack. I have no plans on R5 her, I like her I enjoy her but there are other cosmic champs I like a little more such as Cap Marvel Movie Version, medusa, Hyperion , perhaps Corvus but I have never pulled him.
She is also great for some of the tough nodes like the ultron boss in act 5 as seen here th-cam.com/video/IaqqGY0GWsE/w-d-xo.html that alone is good to rank her but I would say a R3 could do this too.
DarkZodiacINC many thanks bud, this is the exact detailed sort of feedback I needed - super helpful. I suspected she wouldn’t be your go-to MVP favourite champ for everything but you named a few utilities that might be worth getting her to at very least R3. Also and luckily for me, I do have a Corvus witch goes well with all her jazz and the reason why I got intrigued with her in the first place ;) thanks a mil and also for the other share - will have a look.

great video - i have her as a 5* unduped so need to learn her ways, as I have a 5* CG too for synergy.
ah one of my older guides:) still not bad though. She is great, little risky at times, duped is only needed for super long fights over 100 hits in a row or 75 I believe with CG synergy, I still do not have a CG
I have an issue with her prowess.
Dave says that (and he's not sure about this himself), for every new temporary prowess she gets the damage will multiply with the existing prowess.
It goes like this, let's say you have 1 permanent prowess and then you get the 2nd prowess that's temporary before it goes permanent, (250% x 2) + (200% x 1) = 900% special damage while the 2nd temporary prowess is still active.
And it goes on like this [(250% x 3) + (200% x 2)] as you completing more mission.
However, what I understand from her profile, it should just go like this, (250% + 200%), [250% + (200% x 2)], [250% + (200% x 3)] and so on as you completing more mission.
So what do you think?
Heya, honestly I have always hated trying to figure out the exact percentages:) However I am more prone on how you describe it then the other example but I am not 100% on it, one thing for sure 3 missions and more usually kills anything on the map. KAbam is famous for making vague descriptions, I guess so they don't freak out the younger players:) or those that just want to play the game and not work out math problems:) I am interested though now, you got me thinking what it is haha:)

intercept mission works on more aggressive champs as well, WS in ROL is not to aggressive

are you talking about ways to intercept? I have not made a video on interception yet but there are several online do a google search for How to Intercept Joel Line he is a former TH-camr (retired from MCOC) but has some nice intercepting videos
A con is you have to redo all the missions in the fights, I don’t believe she carries them over
yes she does not carry them over from fight to fight, which is one of the reasons I do not think she is a top choice for Labyrinth, just so much to set up to get good damage and if you die in that fight guess what you got to start all over again. Proxima I think was a good attempt by Kabam to do something unique but they did not quite do it right in my opinion, though I still find she has her uses

Well you have a pretty nice synergy with Corvus and Proxima for that True Strike which can be very useful.
As for who I like between Medusa and Proxima. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Proxima, she is fun when you get those missions complete and do that massive damage but I hate the build up to get there and the chip away block damage she takes, tougher opponents she is often almost dead by the time you get to your 3 or 4th mission haha.
I use Medusa a lot more with her ability to shut down robots, poison immune, nice damage etc but I do not have Corvus so I guess it depends on how much you enjoy playing proxima and how important that synergy with Corvus is.
Both great champs but personally if I took Corvus out of the picture I like Medusa better for my own personal play style and enjoyment but like I said final choice is all yours and really either one would be a nice addition.

Excellent video! Does she need the Dupe and a high sig?
She does not need dupe to be good, but duping makes her better
Dupe does two things
1. After each mission complete you get a fury buff that increases your attack, attack is determined by your sig level so yes a higher sig level will benefit her
2. Also if duped if she gets a 100 combo or more (obviously in long fights) she gains two things. 1. She gets another mission complete so potential more damage and 2. She gets a permanent true accuracy so for example random evading in Labyrinth will not be possible after 100 hits

its not how many hits you do really, it is getting your missions complete. Each mission gives your special attack damage increase. For short fights one or two missions is all that is needed, for longer fights like Labyrinth obviously more the better. She does not need dupe, her dupe ability gives her another mission complete after 100 hits which again increases damage and also after 100 hits in a row your true accuracy never turns off, so duped is only useful in really really long fights
Great video. I got her as 5* recently, too bad her full potential is at 100+ hits fights and the only fights that require tha much are in LOL, where because of the cap you can't use her full potential. Dumb just dumb.
I agree, for a character where you have to do so much work to bring her up to her potential it is a shame she can't take that into LOL with her. I find she is not a great choice for LOL because of this, you have to play perfect every fight almost to get her into killer damage territory.
Smaller fights she is better because just one or two missions complete is usually enough to take out the enemy.
This long fight design is crap when the long fights she can do cap her damage at 1/8 of what she is capable of. But I guess they wanted to have an AW or AQ in mind as well. Too bad the bars to jump over are too high. A hard balancing act, which the devs have failed with.
duped proxima has good block proficiency
not from my experience, find her a bit on the soft side.
I just took my 5* PM to rank 3 after duping her. Feel like i made mistake :\ ... Need more practice with her too.
You feel like taking her to R3 was a mistake? Proxima is an interesting character sometimes I am really happy I took her to R4 other times I feel like I want a Rank Down Gem to take her down and bring someone else up. I have mixed feeling about the champ, I want to love her but times I can't stand her:)
You guys with these videos never show playing 4* fighters. Of course any 5* are better in fighting. But if you want to show how good the fighters are use 4*. Remember it the new players that watch the video.

Well if you looked at my other guides I used a 4 star Gwenpool, a 4 Star Captain America Infinity War, a 4 Star Hood and a R3 5 star psylocke in the guides as well. There is a mixture of levels. The reason being is this. I got Proxima Midnight when she was first released and had the resources to rank her up. I would not use resources on a 4 star if I was planning to rank up the 5 Star. I am a player as well an those precious resources need to go to 5 or 6 star rank ups and not the lower end.
Another thing at the time of this guide I didn't even have a 4 star, but let's be serious if you had both the 4 and the 5 star version and you were planning on ranking the 5 would you even touch the 4 star? probably not in most cases.
The guides are not to showcase how much better in fighting a 5 star is over a 4 star. In reality everything is exactly the same in regards to their abilities and what they can do no matter who I showcase, the only difference is the amount of health and the hitting power of 5 stars will obviously be stronger . You can assume that if you have an very strong 5 star that the 4 star will also be quite strong. Examples would be Hyperion, Magik, Stark Spidey and many more that can still hold their own in higher in content as a 4 star. Hope you enjoyed the videos in any case, this particular guide was my very first, find the other ones are more in detailed. cheers

DarkZodiacINC I respect the reply so I’ll change it to a like but I just didnt like that you felt the need to try and take out the fact you got hit. It happens to everyone dont sweat it and dont try covering it up. It make other people think it’s not ok to mess up
@@killakhaled that wasn't the reason I said that, I get hit all the time, it happens as you say. I mentioned it because some people are not good at intercepting so having the intercept mission at the start can be difficult for some. Was not making an excuse for Spiderman hitting me:)
