    Honestly love your calm and precise sketch. Every line looks intentional. I love that you get the pose and down with the one-minute timer and then continue from there. When I attempt to draw people, I get so caught up in proper autonomy that I forget the fun and interesting shapes that the cloths form. This seems like a great way to warm up and loosen up. Wonderful sketches I can see the practice behind them.

      Maybe years of practice, TH-cam artists they all have something in common, and is the time they put in developing what they can do now... Maybe I didn't catch the joke XD

      It is a great exercise to teach yourself not to focus on details too early and get the feel and shape right instead. You see it with almost all art forms. In painting it is like blocking in shapes of colors with a large brush, only going down in brush size much later in the process for detailing. Or silhouettes where if the general black and white shape communicates the idea to the eye of the viewer you know it is a solid starting point. You don't even have to commit to finishing anything, you can just do 1 minute exercises as practice and still find it super fun and you'll be amazed how much it improves your work.

    Ah yes Croquis, that how the story of Spirit fingers started. A pretty fun art related web comic if anyone's interested. Anyways this is one of my favourite exercises doing this regularly really helped me with proportions and especially with figuring out fabric and shadows! Get a friend or try it with your family I promise it helps!

    • @ClayWheeler
      @ClayWheeler ปีที่แล้ว +1

      8B isn't for beginners.
      Seriously not recommended, and it's very difficult to erase if you made a mistake. Or gets the paper dirty because of the Pencil Lead blackness is very strong.
      HB & 2B is the most recommended.

    The dude is like a gangster rapper, he just dropped the mick! Totally bad-ass! I was waiting for him to pick up an eraser and clean that ??? up, but no! "He made it work." I would have never started with that dark charcoal pencil. This guy started rolling hard with a dark-as-pencil. It was like I was in the back seat of a speeding car and he didn't pump the brakes to slow down. I said to myself; is he going to clean up that line? "O hell no! He kept on rolling hard with that dark pencil. I was totally scared, but, he could do no wrong. It's like; "how do you start with a dark pencil and nothing tells you to grab an eraser and clean up a line are two? It's like everything I ever did with a pencil was wrong, and everything this guy does with a pencil is progress. Now I want to be like this guy. I'm just totally blown away right now.
