There has been something in the back of my mind nagging at me for a while. It keeps getting sparked by a lot of people wanting Singora to be resurrected, which I highly doubt will happen. I don't think Venti meant the Tsaritsa when he asked if she "Stole her master's face". What if she was a previous Hexenzirkel members pupil? One who we know to be dead. That if she can change her face, is Dotorre involved with that? I haven't seen this discussed anywhere, and I would love to hear your thoughts on this theory

Plot Twist, Turns out Arlecchino was just mad that Freminet ate the last of the food at the recent BBQ Dinner.
Double plot twist, Marcotte orginised that BBQ dinner as trap for this while Arlecchino knows it and she is just pranking.

Exactly, even in the 4.6 livestream they practically spoiled that they’re just "training" / "sparing" (but with some twists and more than average aggressiveness in it) when they said that phase 1 is just "like any other ordinary training session" implying that even if the whole thing has more to it it at least started as just training.
Yeah, there is zero chance that there is any conflict between Arlecchino and the kids that doesn't get resolved in some convenient and tidy manner. Certainly there will be no lasting damage or change in the status quo.

Hey miss Ashikai, just a quick fun fact: In the official Brazilian Portuguese translation of Genshin Impact, Arleccino's is often refered as "A Serva" which translates to, yep, you guessed it: "The Servant". You can even see it in 4.6's website preview if you change its language to PT-BR. I'm very excited to know more about her lore when the patch drops.
I think it’s only in English that her title can be interpreted differently, in Russian her title is clearly says Слуга - Servant
Arlecchino in commedia dell'arte is often portrayed as a servant, hence Arlecchino's subtitle is "the Servant (仆人)". The title "the Knave" is an archaic way to say servant, which is far removed from its modern English definition.
That's true for most languages. English tends to always add a little flair with its translations.

God, I hope this is true! I love love LOVE vampire mythology and the whole "Arlecchino is super vampire-coded" theory is one of my favorites. I would LOVE for this to be true.

It’s weird how for how crack this theory is, the one thing she got right was how the child Clervie exhibits a classic vampire behavior of not being able to go into the sunlight.

After introducing Arlecchino's story quest, when they talk about the Focus-Experience mode. You can see the SQ name: "When The Hearths-Flame Go Out," and the second title for the quest is "The Child Who Doesn't Exist."
I doubt the quest heading and sub-heading would be a red-herring they intentionally created just for the Special Program.

i don't like the "leg counting" justification for spider/insect/crab because genshin impact has a TERRIBLE track record of accurate leg numbers for arachnids/arthropods anyway. even the real spiders in game only have 6 legs, so do the scorpions in the desert, and i think the crabs are missing 1 pair of legs too. i don't think only have 6 legs/wings crosses out the spider imagery at all lol
@@paulpreston1569 Crabs have only 6 walking legs chef here, they then have two "swim legs" and two "Chela" or Claws.
many people have pointed out the arlecchino swan motifs, but i've always assumed it was more of a stork... since here in poland, storks are said to be where babies come from: they bring them to their parents, carrying a swaddle in their beaks. since, you know, kids and orphanage! and also kind of a rebirth motif, since storks return to europe in spring. but it might be a little far-fetched
I know this has nothing to do with Arlecchino but I'm just so surprised no one has talked about this before; Barbatos’ statue in Mondstadt city (in front of the church) has distorted voices near it. Adjust your audio settings with dialogue and music to 0, and you can hear it pretty clearly; although I believe it’s in Mandarin, so I’m not sure what they’re saying. I don't know if this is lore important or not, but I still think people should know...

nah I doubt that since dehya story quest they been doing pretty good job in SQ in terms on not focusing too much of npc even the "bad" ones are still pretty decent and more focused on the playable character

So basically Marcotte is Elysia or an ALT of her. The King is a "sa or finality point etc" and They create "herscher" "vampires" and the blood is primordial liquid which makes up all things in the world of Tyvat that wasn't there to begin with. It would also explain the similarities of the "Domes" of Eternity (Raiden) IX (Archon) and with her. Also the "Crab" is consistent with the Sea of Quanta creating Sea like creatures. The Harbingers are messengers of things coming from Outside this world.
If you have read the Stormlight Archive, she can be something like a spren which bonds with a human, and the 'evil' aspects could be her being a voidspren.
Marcotte kinda sounds like Nahida being a branch of Irminsul
I don't think the title of Knave meaning "servant" should hold as much weight as is being attributed to it. After all, that's the *definition* of the role of the Harlequin in the commedia dell'arte (which all the Harbingers get their title from). So unless we're going to start making the argument that Dottore is the head of the household, Tartaglia is a stuttering statesman, and Pierrot is a sad clown (I am not joking, these are their roles in the commedia), I don't think we should be putting all our eggs in this basket just yet
Yeah. As much as these theories are fun, mhy tends to take the easy way out. Details feel too random at times to really make these details relevant.

Marcotte is said to represent purity and sincere care.

Honestly, I see arlecchino testing her children, and so that Lyney can take over her mantle without any connections to the fatui if her blood debt is repaid. That being said, the Maricotte child/princess could somehow be a past form or version of the prior arlecchino (meaning the one that was in power prior to the knave we know of) and somehow the maricotte princess has a way she can relinquish Arlecchino’s blood debt.
That’s personally how I see it at least, as Arlecchino is negotiating with Neuvillette as well, I think it’s her trying to get Lyney into the role of being the leader of the house of hearth, but also leading the house of hearth away from any fatui attachment. So “turning against” her children is the only way she can make sure that the rest of her children are able to stay safe without the interference of the fatui at large.
ASHIKAI HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE ARLECCHINO ANIMATED SHORT TEASER 😭 (right at the very end there's a scene with what I think is young arlecchino and princess Marcotte what the heck)
My thoughts on this video:
1) 0:47 This seems like a very strong interpretation. Even though Arlecchino is a Pyro user, she is still from a region heavy with aquatic motifs.
2) 3:35 The way I see it, Arlecchino may have obtained the power to depose the pervious Knave by convinced Marcotte to side with her.
3) 4:15 I find this particular part to be a bit questionable. First of all, all harbingers are only appointed as such by the Tsarista. Second of all, what does Arlecchino's appointment ceremony (in what is clearly Snezhnaya) have to with whether or not she personally killed the pervious Knave? Why would these two things chronological be the same event?
4) 6:58 Let me guess, some of your other theories have to do with the One Winged Angel/Grim Reaper/Masque of the Red Death

I took it they mean Father in the patriarchal sense, considering the orphanage is based off a Russian one the person managing the kids would be female and called matushka or in English something like mother. I thought referring to her as father as playing on her nurturing them in a masculine way rather than a motherly empathetic way. The Father thing also might fit with the possibly vampire lore too, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out, would be cool if they could merge the two though.

This video reminded me of something. I always thought it was odd that many of the recipes available in Hotel Debord included Marcotte as an ingredient. Sold by the weirdly-named "Sanguinetti", which felt somewhat out of place. Also a recipe for blood sausage in there. Probably irrelevant, but an interesting coincidence.

Wouldn’t Freminet then be a better replacement for Arlecchino instead of Lyney? Simply because he worked for Marcott despite what Arlecchino wanted? Just spitting out some thoughts but Lyney seemed pretty adamant about not going against arlecchino no matter what (which he will definitely start pulling back from during this quest for the sake of his siblings)
I personally, if I was Marcott, would rather Freminet replace the current Knave as MY servant than Lyney. Simply because he was very loyal to me as a person despite all odds against him.
