Well done fella. Great video and commentary. Just walked this bugger in 14 days and that was as hard as hell and I finished looking much worse than you! Massive respect for this - proper superhuman - I can scarcely believe this is possible! So strange to recognise everywhere I have just been - that drop down to the bridge at Yair is an absolute bugger mind.
@@runnerrossco2483 Seriously and genuinely - you're an inspiration mate, I've been doing some half hearted training, you've given me a kick up the arse I needed. You're mental state throughout that was amazing.
@@runnerrossco2483 Wow, that's great! I'm going to do my first ultra in two weeks. I've never run more than 42 so I hope I don't die lol. Any tips for me?
Absolutely thrilled to raise money for GOSH. My run was just a walk in the park compared to what you and your family have been through over the past couple of years. I’d run it there and back without a seconds thought if it meant raising enough money for everyone who needs it at GOSH x
Holy moly, this was insane. Not only did you get to the end of this mental race, you kept composed enough to be able to speak to the camera even in the later stages. Massive kudos to you mate, keep up the good work!
Great race vlog buddy, what an adventure! Very impressive and inspirational 👏... Brought memories of the Ultra Scotland 50 this year, which takes in a small section of this route. Doing the 100 next year and the RAS is my ultimate goal. Thanks for sharing!
@@runnerrossco2483 it’s inspiring to see that in a race this long you can feel rough ( as you did at 90 miles) and still manage to find your way round the ups and downs to get to the end..
hi mate really like your enthusiasm, i felt the same and under similar cicumstances 32 years ago when i ran the west highland way .im nearly 60 now 3 hip replacements 1 knee replacement later. i love watching guys like you and remembers me of how i was many years ago. Well done pal.
I'm attempting my first 100 this year, the snowdon 100,and this video was really refreshing to watch. Well done and I wish you all the best on future ultras 💪🏻
This is amazing. I'm on a similar mental and physical journey right now. Half marathon has become way too comfortable, about to do a marathon but it seems too achievable and comfortable albeit still hard. Next up ultra next year but ultimately I want to get to this point too. Very inspirational thank you, from a fellow Scot.
This was great fun to watch, thank you for sharing. I recently caught an advertisement for this race, so your video appearing in my suggestions was timely! I have this on my wishlist now. Congrats on the finish!
No worries. Really enjoy watching these type of vids (was a good way of passing the time in history class) but it's really good when people capture the scenary, the mood and a adventurous story. You got that done really well.

Wow mate just incredible!! Where did that sprint to finish come from lol. Massive congratulations for this mate. I bet the feeling never gets old of what you have achieved. I'm doing my first G2E ultra in around 6 weeks. Hence the reason I have found your vlog. Serious Kudos mate.
So happy for you man. I run my first ultra on Sunday. Saints Way Challenge, 28.5miles (N-S.coast Cornwall. One year almost to the day that I started chemo (which was a success). Somehow managed to get myself in shape. When the struggle comes I’ll be thinking about you pushing through this mega Scottish triumph!
Well put together video. Loved the especially for you rendition, I think The Voice will be calling. Also nice to know Jenny was going the extra miles in massage that you hoped your sister wouldn't. Lol Thinking of holding back to the family could see it. Agree with the others an emotional ending as that was really the only time you looked like it could beat you, and you still just pressed on.
This is truly amazing Ross, you got some steel! You're dad would be proud. Keep up with these great videos. Do you have a video on how you train for these events? Thanks 👍👍💪💪💪
Thanks John - that’s very nice of you. I’ve not really got much other than races themselves. Not sure how much of an audience a training video would get - but you’ve certainly planted a seed and it’s given me some food for thought.
I’ve just watched this again it was so good. 👍. Could you tell me what shoes you were wearing or what sort you would recommend? I’m in my 70s but you give me hope!
@@runnerrossco2483 nice work I'll be running my first half marathon at the end of the year and I been looking for something to motivate myself on race day and I found it on your video ☺️. Oh hello from Australia.
Thank you. I used a combination of Hoka Speedgoat for comfort and cushioning but changed to more grippy Sauchony Peregrines for the more technical stuff.
I'm just about to sign up for this race. Large part of it was seeing your video of the experience. Such an impressive achievement. Have you got Strava? I'd love to see your training for the 200+ mile events. Cheers
Looking forward to volunteering on this race later this year, so glad I've found this!
