  • As I'd predicted Ched Evans was found not guilty, but is there a danger now of making a false allegation of false allegation? Who's really to blame for a miscarriage of justice?

Interestingly, in a recent update, he even debunks my claim that the acquittal of McDonald indicates that Evans’ conviction was unsafe, arguing quite convincingly that McDonald’s acquittal may have lain in his “reasonable belief” rather than in her consent. I hadn’t considered that.

We men are pretty thick. These happenings mean little to the average guy. He'll just keep on keeping on until the system has him and then he'll be surprised. "Me? but I'm a good guy".

You're right. We all think it won't happen to us. There are pros and cons of being a celebrity. On the one hand, because he is a celebrity the press made a big deal of his case and his name in inexorably linked with rape nationwide, but then again the support he received and the campaign to prove his innocence only happened because he was a celebrity, and he was only able to appeal because he had the funding. What would have happened to an ordinary Joe in the same situation?

Mark P. The ordinary guy will be perceived to be a villain all along.
