This is basically the hatchback version of Corolla E150. I don't know much about the Kenyan market, but here in Holland there is a preference for hatchbacks because they are more versatile in carrying cargo. You can carry longer and larger items, because of the larger opening at the back, especially after folding the rear seats. A small sedan like the Corolla is limited in this aspect. When you can only own 1 car, a hatchback is normally the better choice.

I have driven an Auris before and I can honestly say I loved that car, it didnt feel small or light, its actually carries its weight well and drives very well and its fast too. It's generally a nice car to be honest I cant hate it..id rather get this than an axio.
The ease of maintenence makes the car have high demand. I believe the high price is dependent in the demand.. Most people want the car coz that will give them peace of mind

I have driven the both this and an Axio, the Auris is heavier and more stable. Axio feels like a feather.

Fast forward to YOM 2018 when Toyota introduced TNGA and the Auris is repackaged as one of the most attractive hatchbacks, namely the Corolla Sport. The Auris is an important model to the Corolla heritage because it carries the shape & size they want for the mainstream Corolla going forward.

That price doesn't make sense at all. You mean it has appreciated?? That car was bought for less as a new import, it was aprox 850k. Its being sold at a profit after 6 years of use.

the only plus about the auris , is reliability.
The Auris is the sports Corolla - it's essentially a Corolla (size, engine, price point) and the 2016 model is same wheelbase as the Axio, but slightly wider stance. It looks better and looks sell (ask Mazda) but all in all, it's a proper solid car, some weighing in at 1.4 tonne stock. That said, the lower trims shouldn't cost as much as they do and just ride on the higher trims
I bought an Auris like this for my first car, the one with 1329cc engine, and I only paid 4500 eur for it, which I think is a great price overall for that car that had no mechanical faults at all. It was also lighter than what you say as 1.4 tones, probably because of the engine.

Any model that falls in the corolla hatchback lineup ie.(Runx, Allex, Auris, Corolla hatchback) is costly across the world, may be a lot is spent in design stage to stand out for corolla hatchback lovers irregardless of whether the value makes sense to the users
additionally any well known Toyota attracts the "Toyota tax" vs other brands, globally - RAV4, 4Runner, etc, etc...

This car can do crazy turns on top speed, and it has a 5 star ⭐ on driver crush and 4star on passenger crush.
The current model has 5 ⭐ Star for both driver and passenger crush and 4 star ⭐ for Baby crush.
On speed, the 1.5Litre drives very smoothly without struggling while the 1.8litre drives like supercharged.

You need to consider ride comfort, cabin noise, and safety features. You will realise this car is actually better than Axio, Fielder, Premio same generation. Vitz sio same WhatsApp.

A good product sells that translates to high demand hence the price tag. It fits most of the consumer needs locally.
Have driven a golf, axio, fielder, premio, and auris. Auris for what it is , is one of the more stable Toyotas. Its way superior to vitz, axio and even premio in terms of stability on the road and safety features. Which axio of that generation packs stability control, 6 airbags, efd etc. In terms of size its wider than the axio, fielder and premio. What makes it short is the small boot.
I suggest you redo this review and not bash a car without looking at things with a magnifying glass.
It's one of the greatest cars. It's underrated because of its size but powerful than some of its competition.

My attention has been drawn to the general slander on Auris cars, okay I get there are those basic ones and yes it shares some components with the sweet mother Corolla (one of the best-selling Toyota cars of all time). I have a 1.8 L Auris 2010 and it has the 2ZR-FAE Manual transmission and I can tell you it's not your run-of-the-mill car... It's zippy and drives well. I can't tell you how many times I have had guys in bigger better cars eating my shorts every time I am coming from Eldy, especially at that long stretch of Kinungi climbing lane
