You could use a couple of ratchet straps for loose board.
Another great clip ✊
that 9mm MDF looks just like 9mm OSB
A few more inserts and your star knobs could hold the front panel on the underside during transport.
Yes that would work
My thoughts exactly, and by closing in the shelves you can use that space to transport display materials etc
For the storage of the panel, use more threaded inserts and and the star knobs, that way its all together and they won't go missing.
Matt, maybe an easy fix for the front panel:
turn the table upside down, fold the legs down, lay the front panel om top of it and drill the four holes, add threaded inserts and voila: stored the panel and locked the legs all in one take
To carry the front panel with the folded table, add some more threaded inserts to the legs when folded nd use the thumb screws to hold it onto the folded legs. Then you can carry it with the table folded and it will prevent the legs from swinging out when being carried.
You could also hinge the front of top pannel so open it up unfold legs and use the star knobs to secure to bottom front legs when packed away use same star knobs to secure front panel so the table is completely boxed in
Great design and build - it also advertises the quality of your products on its own. Star knobs into the folded legs might work to attach the front. Chalk board paint is genius!
Thank you very much
Pretty nice table. Good job.
Love how your workshop keeps evolving. Wish I had that much room. My “workshop“ is about 1/4th the size of yours.
Thank you. We all wish we had more space
Matt this looks great! If you close the legs down then could you insert some threaded inserts into the legs and then you could just attach the front pannel to the underside using that?
Could definitely see this as a product sold on etsy or similar sites 'craft fair folding table with storage' etc!
Very inventive Matt and the perfect solution for your problem.
We are all watching a very smart badger!
In the closing shot you should have included a fake pick up and strings, would have made a hilarious Guitar. Seriously though, brilliant design!
Nice job Matt why don't you just add threaded inserts to the table top and use the star knobs to fix the front panel to it for carrying then once it's set up you'll hardly see the inserts on the top when the table is covered in items. Great build mate
Great build! Perfect as is! ❤👍
Add some threaded inserts into the leg assembly to screw the front board onto the whole table with the star knobs. Two hands free! Lol 😅
Thank you
That's osb not mdf.
Love it❤
Great job. Could you use the star knobs to secure the front OSB against the legs (during transit)? Just a thought 😉
Clearly the front panel can attach to the folded legs by installing a couple of threaded inserts for the knobs - which then will not get lost.
Nice design, good job.
very clever and well made Matt. i made a couple of folding shelves for my wife's craft fairs (she's a card maker) out of pasting tables. they work really well.
Thank you. Folding shelves sounds a good idea
Inspiring as ever. That colour combination of the dye and the blackboard paint works really well
Thank you very much
Very nice! the front panel is a great spot to advertise your logo!
Thank you
Great design. I love those hinges.
Thank you
Great job Matt.
Thank you
Another really nice design and execution...love the contrast of colors. Well Done!
Thank you very much
Top job as always Matt. Take care & stay safe.
Thank you
Good table Matt, good simple build, interesting to watch.
Thank you
Nicely designed and well made.
Thank you
Great build! Love the colour
Thank you
For the front panel, just add some more threaded inserts along the legs so you can attach to to them when folded up. No loosing the knobs and no worry of the legs trying to open when carrying as well. Very nice project!
Just add 2 extra threaded inserts to the folded table for carrying the front and the knobs
👍👍👍 Top job. Thanks Matt
Thank you
Fantastic work, Matt! It turned out great! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you
Nice job. The front panel needs to be attached with hinges so that it folds down when the legs are deployed. It could probably be secured to the bottom of the unfolded legs with rare earth magnets or shoot bolts, thus eliminating the need for separate knobs.
A good finish for the OSB top, is to paint it black (or whatever colour you like) and then sand it, leaving the colour in the low spots...coat of varnish on top and it looks great.
Matt, why don't you use some of the magnets to hold the panel on the table while it's in the storage position then your not having to carry the front panel separately!
An interesting idea Matt, and it came out good and solid, they did you a favour insisting on a "modesty panel" as that stiffens up the legs really well, if it didn't need to be the whole depth you might be able to alter the design a little to incorporate it against the top between the folded legs, but that might impact on the depth of your side shelves a little !
Excellent idea. 👍🏻 My only design change would be to cut the whole table across the middle and hinge it. Even the front board. 😎👍
Thank you
Like the design Matt 👍🏻.
Thank you
Just a thought....put some threaded inserts into the top and use the star knobs to attach it to the top for carrying
I don’t really want holes in the top
@@Badgerworkshop Fair enough Matt.
Hi Matt, That is a nice folding table, like you said it will be good for you mate's stall and handy as a display table at a car boot sale. Nice and solid that is needed for a portable table Like the stain on the OSB table top and the black board paint on the sides and front a great finish. Just a thought the front panel could you fit another clasp to attach a strap or cut out a hand hole at the bottom of the board. As always a great video, Take care
Could you not add inserts so when legs down can use the star knob to screw the front to cover the legs when folded keeping the front and star knobs all together with table very good idea tho keep up good videos
I like it 🙌
Thanks Aidan
Good effort well done
Thank you
Oiling or waxing the top might be on if you're going to be in the rain quite often, unless you've made a matching gazebo from some scrap battens and a couple of golf umbrellas.
We have a gazebo so it’s not a problem
That's a great design! I don't need another portable table, but I'm still tempted to give it a go.
For the front panel, maybe you could have it hinged to where the inside of the frame meets the table top? So that it folds down after the legs come out and attach to some cleats on the inside of the legs.
It would perhaps mandate a bit of a redesign though, and because I'm Norwegian I might make little sense. Happy to explain further if what I wrote is confusing!
Thank you
Matt, add two more inserts into the table top and use the star knobs to mount the front to the table top whilst you are carrying it.
Or add the inserts to the legs (if they line up) so it can be stored on the underside.
Excellent build, could you cut a carry handle slot in the black board that screws to the front, it would hardly be visible and make it easier to carry.
Yes you could do that
Hi Matt, you are certainly a very good ideas man, thst folding table looked great, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Thank you Les
Do the holes in the front panel line up with the frame for the unfolded legs? If so then just use more threaded inserts and attach it to the underneath of the table when not in use and when it is up you can probably us the spare threaded inserts to have some hooks screwed I for display. But other than that it's a great project.
funnt looking mdf, more like OSB lmao
Maybe use the threaded inserts and star knobs to hold the front panel to the underside when folded away
how about more threaded inserts into the legs when it's folded closed to attach the front to?
Yes could do
Great design like the hinged for the legs ive been looking for something similar when i do wood fairs just a quick one why dont you mount the front to the top for transportation saves carrying the front and the fixings its only another 4 thread inserts you have to use in the top
Thank you. I don’t really want screws in the top
needs a little pouch for the chalk/wiper ? front board screwed to the top plate for transport ?
Why not attach the front panel to the table top with 4 × 30mm rare earth magnets and penny washers, just an idea??
Looks like a proper sales counter, great result! Any desire to make it fold in half like your plastic table, for even better portability? Thanks for sharing, all the best
I don’t feel the need as it fits in the car like this
Star knob the front to the actual top
Great work and video. Can you add additional threaded inserts to the shelf side of the legs to attach the front for transport? Also keeps the star knobs safe.
Yes that might work
Where did u get the star kknobs from? I got some the same but they had small marks and scratches on them. Could no way sell the product they were for. Thanks
Mrs Workshop won't be happy losing a handbag strap
Haha
That isn't mdf, it's OSB.
Congrats, you’ve passed the test!
TLAs are always confusing.
Matt said MDF at the start but corrected to OSB
@@pauljouxson2834 may have been an idea to correct it with text overlay prior to publishing ? I stopped watching when he said mdf
So you posted your reply before finishing the whole video @davidStanton 😊
