I watched the video - nice bench, love the colour - and as you were finishing up, I said to my wife "he's going to need some drainage holes in that" - and then you tell us that your mum said the same thing. I immediately said 'always listen to your mother' just seconds before you said the same. Respect to your mum!
Who doesn't like a project that combines two uses, very practical Matt, the perfect place for some bags of compost and empty flower pots or the waste recycling and a nice place for a cuppa ! What's great about this is you could even adapt an existing chest (if you have one) in this way !
Really beautiful work, Matt! It turned out amazing! 😃 I think about building something similar as well, to keep gardening tools! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Hi Matt, That is a nice looking garden bench and lock up handy for garden tools, hose pipe and spare plant pots. Love the colour , as always a great video Take care
Nice use of decking, it us the cheapest timber you can get! Regarding feet I have used the old fashioned rubber internal door stops/bumpers on a couple of things in the garden. Cheapish but gives a bit more clearance and helps if the floor is a bit uneven.
Nice design Matt. I will be very interested to know if the glued panels stayed glued over winter. I have never had much success with glue out doors. Wood expansion and contraction always wins
Gidday Matt! Justca quick word of appreciation for the video on the garden bench with storage, the blue-coloured one. I dont wish to sound greedy, but its fantastic to have such a frequent flow of videos lately mate!! Cheers always! Don.
Hi Matt 4 years ago you refurbed a Multico A1 Table/Bench saw and I was wondering if in your search for information you came across any such as manuals or parts. I know you are busy and possible have forgotten about it . Any help would be Great
Protecting your new bench from hand saw, instead of the cut pad you could make 1 or 3(for supporting in and out) bench hooks from scraps. Rex Kruger has a simple example.
I don't understand why you didn't have the sides flush with front and back and top wider stop water ingress at sides and bench seat would look a lot better, always like your videos good idea with your bench expanding storage
Feet I used

Nice build Matt. Practical and simple to modify for different needs
👍👍👍 Nice build. Thanks Matt
“Always listen to your mother.” That way you get homemade cookies! 😊
A nice simple but extremely practical garden seat Matt. Make sure you chain it to the post so it doesn't wander off
Hi Matt, the storage seat was brilliant, you will have to be careful your mum doesn't grab it, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Thank you Les
Very smart mate.
Looks great and already pricing up materials! 😊
Thank you
very clever matt with that 10 degrees meaning the lid stays open, very stylish! well done
Thank you very much
Lovely job Matt, and yes Mum is always right :)
She definitely thinks so

Door stops are a good idea

Thank you Don
Where did you get the green Matt from ?
Clever idea to combine seating and storage. Note to self, need more clamps.👍👍😂😂
Always need more clamps
all the weight will hang on the side panel screws, no screws from leg to front/back panel
That turned out great. Enough storage to fit a human in lol
I flexible one
Very nice indeed
Thank you

I’m afraid I found no information on it and sold the saw years ago
when empty can tip backwards

What's a harsp?

was thinking exactly the same thing ;) but for flowerpots and the like its great anyway.
1800mm might have been a better length, you could then have a third use - somewhere to hide the bodies. 😂 👍
Nice, the catch being screwed into the side and sticking up, rather than under the lid, is triggering me though :)
