      Video pacing - I don't see many videos on how to create a pacing plan for video creation - such as how often to cut, how to create a consistent theme (like, don't use ALL the transitions in ONE video.) Advice on how to grab an audience's attention with subtle, but effective screen elements... that sort of thing.

    Very cool TechSmith and thank you Nick. I can't wait to start using some of these new features. I've been using Camtasia for two years now and love my pro subscription that gives me the automatic/free updates including this one! Of course all these tools don't replace good solid content, tricks and gimmicks can't replace quality content development - but they sure can add to it.

About the cursor I would like to comment: it is possible to increase its size without compromising its quality: when clicking on the project track in the timeline you will see the "cursor properties" on the left. In it you can freely increase the size of the cursor in older versions. Success!

    It doesn't sound like they added the ability to scrub the audio... That's probably the one area I miss in Camtasia, but overall I really like it (I have 2021). 2022 sounds cool. Having the ability to use a screenshot and add a mouse cooked into the software is a nice feature for someone like me and my workflow (since a lot of my videos are tutorials that need to show things on the computer. Many times I record the 'how to' narration, and then record the actual 'doing it' while listening to the narration and following myself.

    Thanks,. Downloading v2022 as we speak. But honestly, it's too much and I'm still not aware of all the options in 2021. I mean it's great of course.
    What I find difficult is I do talking heads (never screenshots) and would love to sometimes just find help on rotations of screen and images or annotation and transition effects.
    Is there any QUICK way to find what I need without watching so many tutorials? Perhaps a silly question but I like to save TIME ;)

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The rotations and zooming type of things all happen in the “animation” panel. All of the transitions are in the transition area and all you have to do is drag the one you like to the place where two clips meet on your timeline. The annotations are in the annotations area and now also in the library like I showed in this video. If you focus on those areas in 2021 or 2022 it will do all of the things you need.

    I do love the new gradient & background options.

    • @NickNimmin
      @NickNimmin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can use them to make branded video assets. I had that segment in the video showing how to do it but took it out due to the length of the video. But, add the gradient on a blank background, preferably the gradient with motion. Then add an animated text block on top and it looks like a really clean animated slide.

    This looks great, especially the editing process w Audiate. Question, what does the fine tuning look like if Audiate doesn’t do it perfectly when it edits the video after you’ve removed parts in Audiate?
    Can you make simple fine tuning edits in Camtasia to what Audiate chopped for you? Meaning, can you use what you got w Audiate and just adjust the video and audio trim a bit in Camtasia? Like, does it actually save real time to start in Audiate and finish the edits in Camtasia or is it like you have to redo the edits and it ends up taking longer?

    Question for you: those who normally edit videos in premiere pr or final cut (Like me) would you recommend to screenrecord with camtasia and then import that footage to the more advance editing software to work with color grading, audio etc.? If you know what I mean. I think Camtasia looks awesome, but I also want to edit in premiere or final cut. Not sure if it's a good workflow for creating tutorials or how other that create tutorials go about this. Thanks for your input!

    So I have Camtasia 2022 and have been using it since it came out. It's great but I am having an issue with it slowing down when I edit. I upgraded my computer a couple years ago with a fairly high end machine (AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor, RTX 3080, 64GB. However, after editing for some time, I find that Camtasia starts to slow down and dragging, cutting, takes a long time. I find that odd. My temp fix is to shut it down and restart Camtasia. Audiate with Camtasia 2022. However I am wondering that if you edit and remove text from audio then reimport the changes into Camtasia with sync on will it trim the video in those same areas with import, the same way that Descript does, or does it just sync the audio in correct locations and not affect video?

      If your channel has been suspended, you should have an email from TH-cam - I would definitely dig into your spam folder just in case it's there. Here's what TH-cam provides to help you understand what could be going on - support.google.com/youtube/answer/2802168?hl=en
      If it's possibly just a logging-in issue, you can try the Account Recovery process here: support.google.com/accounts/answer/7299973?hl=en

    So 159 for a feature that you can get from timebolt, and things we already had..

      If you think piracy is OK, and taking away the livelihood of developers in the process is OK, knock yourself out. Just beware the malware and viruses less reputable sources pose.

      @@NickNimmin I said nothing about Piracy. I said that this upgrade clearly isn't worth it and barely adds any value. And you acting like it does is just you selling out for some referral dollars.

      You mentioned Timebolt, so it was a fair assumption. Each user has to determine in the upgrade is worth it for them. If you deem it not worth while, that doesn't mean its not for someone else.

    I dont want to sound ungratefull but despite some of the features being really neat, this barely qualifies as a new version. I got really excited when I saw custom paths aaaand then found out its only for the cursor, not the objects. Start screen, cool but I spend like 2s there, blend mode...well thats actually great. But I wanted to see more adjustible interface, ripple scrolling tool, custom shapes, advanced animations, possibility to change anchor points, slightly better color correction, transition creator, voiceover tool without the need to save the file immdiately (Audiate, get it, but that sadly doesnt support my language). Dont get me wrong I still use Camtasia for 99% of my videos and I will be, but I am just sad that I am seeing features that could have been downloaded as a simple plug-in, not a year long software advancement.

    • @NickNimmin

      You can see the full list of new features at www.techsmith.com/camtasia-compare-versions.html
      Of course, make sure that you reach out to TechSmith with feedback at any time as a regular user of Camtasia. I'm sure they would appreciate all feedback, feature requests and anything you want to share to help make the product even better.

    Hey Nick I am just starting our I have zero subscribers. I would like to promote my video and channel through Twitter, reddit, and Pinterest and other social platforms and search engines. But TH-cam URL is so lengthy and complex and ik I need 100 subs to be able to create custom URL. Should I wait to start Pinterest and reddit until I get my custom URL or just change the link or how do I handle that.

      Rome wasn’t built in a day. Star athletes don’t happen overnight. No one has ever picked up a guitar and been able to play a jamming guitar solo or sat down at a piano for the first time and played Mozart. TH-cam, like everything else can take time because we have to learn how to do it and all of the things involved. Keep going.
