Great vids I appreciate the extra bit of knowledge showing all the little bits that should be done , and they will make the setup and tuning way more efficient !!
I've watched a lot of these videos and I definitely learn from each person but the way you explain this is on my same wavelength. I really appreciate your time in explaining this so well. Subbed.
you can just remove the fuel plate if you want. But then you’re gonna wanna make sure your star wheel adjustment and your preboost setting are fairly conservative. Or not.. lol.. you can just loosen everything off like most people do and blow a pile of black smoke all throughout the RPM range but.. you can ultimately control the maximum fuel with your foot but without a plate once the AFC foot moves out of the way, you can have maximum fuel basically at any RPM that you can build boost.
Thanks a lot mate I'm in Australia And just in the process of slipping a 12 valve in my c20 Chevy The 12valve and nv4500 is from over your way somewhere it's out of a 96 it runs nice on the floor in a run stand at present So I figured I should educate myself on fueling and boost as I wish to bump it slightly from its 215 on its birthday standard ponies and standard torque of somewhere around 400 ft lb to no more than 250 ish ponies Just a lil I'm planning on not going too far at present till down the track I upgrade clutch and maybe spigot shaft To 1and 3/8 But rated torque on a standard nv4500 is 450ft lb So that's not a big window for improvement without helping the trans live and driving sensibly Your explanations with cutaways are a huge help in me understanding a lot of aspects of the mechanical variations to tailor fuel delivery to the engine I'm not a mechanic but I have 3 really good fellows close to me that are diesel mechanics that can help me 1 fellow is close to 70 and loves mechanical engines and I'd love 10% of his knowledge 1 fellow is about 55 has a c30 work truck with a Perkins phaser at about 250 ponies and is a Chevy and transplant wizard but conservative And last but not least a young 30ish Diesel mechanic that spends most of his time working on logging gear Including Cummins truck engines And their vehicles Harvesters and forwarders Both mechanical and common rail But mostly common rail I've witnessed the young fellow build quite a few engines in amongst other things with great success And he's a really level headed young man At least now I can understand better The mechanics of the variables To be at least on a similar page To the fellows around me Thanks again for your efforts👍 Have you had much to do with Power driven diesel AFC live From an on the run tuning perspective ? I will be running light for a few years But plan to tow a gooseneck home in a few years time once I get the truck settled and ironed out Cheers from down under Ps I need an overhaul /bearing kit for The NV 4500 and a new mainshaft The front nose is worn pretty bad Would you know where to get a good upgraded mainshaft 2wd And surrounding parts namely Yoke and shifter parts Thanks again

no problem! thank you👍
Well explained thank you
your welcome. 👍 share the video with friends if you could please.
Righteous brother well explained thank you very much. I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this big turbo time.
Thanks for all the work Darcy and explination.....you'll have my truck soon
Bienvenido from tierra del Fuego
thank you. i’m glad you found my youtube channel. I forgot to mention it today.
Very old skool !! And in depth explanation!!! Been trying to fiddle with this thing for a while without knowledge thanks man this was very helpful!!!!
you’re welcome 👍
I like it 👌
Wow, lot to learn here. I was thinking about just ripping out the fuel plate... looks to be more sophisticated than that! Thank you

Amazing video
thank you!👍
Thank you
These 2 videos were very helpful for me, you have good skills. I appreciate the effort that you spent making these videos thanks
your welcome!

And just in the process of slipping a 12 valve in my c20 Chevy
The 12valve and nv4500 is from over your way somewhere it's out of a 96 it runs nice on the floor in a run stand at present
So I figured I should educate myself on fueling and boost as I wish to bump it slightly from its 215 on its birthday standard ponies and standard torque of somewhere around 400 ft lb to no more than 250 ish ponies
Just a lil
I'm planning on not going too far at present till down the track I upgrade clutch and maybe spigot shaft
To 1and 3/8
But rated torque on a standard nv4500 is 450ft lb
So that's not a big window for improvement without helping the trans live and driving sensibly
Your explanations with cutaways are a huge help in me understanding a lot of aspects of the mechanical variations to tailor fuel delivery to the engine I'm not a mechanic but I have 3 really good fellows close to me that are diesel mechanics that can help me
1 fellow is close to 70 and loves mechanical engines and I'd love 10% of his knowledge
1 fellow is about 55 has a c30 work truck with a Perkins phaser at about 250 ponies and is a Chevy and transplant wizard but conservative
And last but not least a young 30ish
Diesel mechanic that spends most of his time working on logging gear
Including Cummins truck engines
And their vehicles
Harvesters and forwarders
Both mechanical and common rail
But mostly common rail
I've witnessed the young fellow build quite a few engines in amongst other things with great success
And he's a really level headed young man
At least now I can understand better
The mechanics of the variables
To be at least on a similar page
To the fellows around me
Thanks again for your efforts👍
Have you had much to do with
Power driven diesel AFC live
From an on the run tuning perspective ?
I will be running light for a few years
But plan to tow a gooseneck home in a few years time once I get the truck settled and ironed out
Cheers from down under
Ps I need an overhaul /bearing kit for
The NV 4500 and a new mainshaft
The front nose is worn pretty bad
Would you know where to get a good upgraded mainshaft 2wd
And surrounding parts namely
Yoke and shifter parts
Thanks again
