2 year review: I bought these when they first came out, about two years ago. I love the sound quality and fit. The sound coupled with the noise canceling creates a definite immersive experience. The mic is good... not the best out there... but pretty good. No complaints with the mic, except for one minute thing, which deals with the software. I wish there were options to change the sound of your voice. I'm being petty... but for a headset that looks as fun as this does... I wish it included some fun options. Everything was spot on... except for... after 6 months a piece of plastic randomly fell off.... and then another random piece a month later but from from the otherside. It wasn't very noticeable... but when it happened, my heart fell a bit because I was really loving these headphones and I wanted to believe they were perfect. But unfortunately, they werent. A couple months later, more things started to fall of. At about the 1 year point, the fabric inside the ear cushioning that covers the "speakers" began falling apart... and then the ear cushioning that rests on your skin began to deteriorate. For a year, little pieces began falling off. I am disappointed with the headset quality regarding the cushioning and fabric.. Perhaps mine was just rare bad one... who knows. If mine didn't have that problem I'd tell everyone to get this headset.
me and my friend have the same headset and the exact same issues mine are just about a year off, sound cuts out constantly, cushioning is ripping off the quality sucks
Bit of a late comment but it gets the point across, I bought these on a MASSIVE sale for 100 dollars. I was fairly skeptical of them at first, then looked at the regular price and decided to wing it. I use these for my VR headset mostly, I haven’t even set up them on my pc yet, these are an insanely comfortable piece of tech! I find the headset hurting my head before the headphones. 10/10 love these things.
Beyerdynamic has utilized those open wires from earcups to the headband since mid 80's and that has never been the first thing to break on their headphones. It's not a bad design by any means.
Its not too much of a big deal to run a usb battery to the headphones, especially if you're on a seated journey, just run a cable from your pocket down your pant leg, back up, round your waist, up your back, round your neck, down your front, back up your sleeve,down your pant leg, back up, round your waist, up your back, round your neck, down your front, back up your sleeve, down your pant leg, back up, round your waist, up your back, round your neck, down your front, back up your sleeve, down your pant leg, back up, round your waist, up your back, round your neck, down your front, back up your sleeve, down your pant leg, back up, round your waist, up your back, round your neck, down your front, back up your sleeve, down your pant leg, back up, round your waist, up your back, round your neck, down your front, back up your sleeve and into the headphones.
The engine for this head set turned it into a BRICK! The head set only works when I uninstall the engine that has all the cool features it... im happy the noise canceling still works with the engine off! If it didn't i would have return these! It took me an hour to figure out what the problem was! The head set dose have nice sound and feels good on the head. ill give it a 7/10, sound gets a 9/10, mic gets a 7/10, engine gets a 3/10(super buggy).
I'd like to hear more about the audio quality without any effects in use, like how you would listen to music with it. Only a very brief explanation of that, then again, it's a $200 product and it should definitely do well both in games and music listening.
Hey, thanks for your comment. Yeah we really focussed on gaming, as the Quantum One is marketed towards gamers. But for me, I used these day to day and I didn't turn on any of the 'gaming' effects. Ran them as pure as possible, and used the equaliser to manually tune my audio. I thoroughly enjoyed them for music consumption though, if that's any consilation.
i actually love the gamechat mix knob and feel like it should become mainstream. being a pc gamer, there are so many instances where i cant hear voice chat because the game is blowing my ears out
Difficult, as they're both very nice headsets. Unfortunately though, we've not had huge hands on time with the Arctis Pro Wireless, so I can't say difinitively. I did really enjoy my time with the Quantum Ones though, the audio quality was superb.

Hey man, this is super random but struggling with what to do. I have the Quantum one headset but wanted to ask if I need the JBL usb controller in order to get full surround sound (PC). At the minute I have an Astro mixamp plugged via usb into my computer then the JBL headset into that mixamp via audio cable. I'm guessing I need the usb controller
Great review, but there's one thing you didn't mention. The annoying voice/sound, or how to turn it off, that interrupts the content you're watching. It comes everytime a button on the headset is touched. Suppose I'm not the only one laying in my bed whenever I watch a movie on my laptop and the buttons get pressed by the pillow.
What setup would you recommend for a game like valorant? Stereo or spatial surround sound? Just started using the headset and trying to figure out the best configuration/how to get the most out of the headset for gameplay. Thanks!
Good question! We’ve found the most important things in Vally is footsteps and knowing where your enemies are approaching from, so whichever mode offers the most clarity on that.
Probably not. The reason being is that these headphones work best with the included USB controller to pan your audio. If you used these, then you will lose mixing capability that the GoXLR provides. The GoXLR makes the JBL USB controller pretty redundant. But, if you did want to use these headphones with your GoXLR, then you can use the 3.5mm audio jack into the front. But because of the USB powers you'll lose the spacial awareness audio that you can only get delivered through USB audio. It's a tough one for sure as these headphones are great.

I wore this headset with my glasses with no problem to comfort. Regarding using them with a console you will lose the features that are delivered through the JBL software.

You're correct. For the virtual 7.1 audio and spacial audio you need a PC and the Quantum One Sphere360 driver. Edit. You will only get stereo sound through a console. But... Don't discount that. The headphones still sound phenomenal and give a sense of placement anyway.
This headset should be using DTS Sound Ubound app for DTS Headphone X/DTS X: Ultra (Spatial) in the Windows sound settings. Quantum360 doesn't even come close.
I have this gaming headset I play warzone and cyberpunk. If your buying for the advertised quantum 360 sound and head tracking I wouldn’t buy. I have that turned off for both games because it sounds too echoey and just not accurate sound. On the other hand when I run it without the quantum surround it is a premium top notch headset. Sound is crisp and accurate.

In fact I think it will hinder my performance if I use it. I’m not talking about the headset itself I’m talking about the 360 quantum sound. If I have it off this headset is great on call of duty I hear every footstep, the sound is accurate, I can be outside of a building not even that close and know there is people inside because I hear the steps. Since I got so used to having quantum 360 sound off I forgot to try it on a story mode game like cyberpunk 2077.
I take it back. I used the the quantum 360 again it’s been about 2 months since I last tried it and it was wayyyy better the sound was 80% more accurate and didn’t have that echo sound anymore. I set the equalizer pre setting to “clearity” and it works great in warzone.
Anybody had issues with the chat mixer volume fluctuating? Brand new pair had this issue, tried on multiple PC's. Replaced for second pair - same issue.
Mine have a high pitched buzz when the USB is connected and it doesn't matter what laptop/PC it is connected too. It will be returned. Tried different USB/AUX/MIC cables and no difference.
@@TechNuovo Problem solved. I discovered that by not using both cables together, the high pitch nose disappears. I couldn't find anywhere on the instructions where it says not to use both together, so I just presumed that this is how they were to be used. Now they work as intended, so I am back to gaming. I need a replacement for my SteelSeries Arctis Pro with DAC. Are these a good option. The Arctis pro are great but after 8 months they seem to have broken. One side of the ear is about to fall off.
Went ahead and picked these up. Have to say i do love them sound and fit are great. I enjoy how the mic can be removed. The software not so much. The software is missing few things, well maybe more then few, but it does the job. After month I didn't mind . I do miss the Steelseries DAC and software/addons . At the end of the day i would have rather picked up the JBls rather than the stealseries. They are so much more comfortable and better sound quality.

Hi Nuovo! I just recently purchased a set of JBL Quantum One Headset. Even at max volume with the dial set to favor maximum game sound, set jbl q.one game as default playback device and every other settings cranked up to maximum (even its own software), the volume still remains too quiet. Do you possibly know the fix for this? Or anyone knows how to fix this? I'm on PC Windows 11 Pro
The sound quality of these headphones were great, and I couldn't recommend them more. The light behind me on the wall are part of the Nanoleaf Shapes range. We have a video on the channel if you're interested in seeing them in more detail.
Need USB power for the RGB stuff. Sorry we didn't mention it. Also need the drivers to access the software too. Still a great sounding headset without this stuff if you ask me.
I am using them for last 6 months, Sound is great, 7.1 works very nice, not that satisfied with quantum spatial sound. MICROPHONE stopped working now, once i adjust microphone arm sometimes it catch but once you move it gently MICROPHONE DOESN'T work. In my opinion it shouldn't happened in headset worth 220 pounds.
I have been using Microsoft rewards, and I want to buy a headset. What would be your recommendation? From what I am looking at, the JBL Quantum ONE, and Razer BlackShark V2 Pro are the two headsets I am thinking about. But I am limited to the Microsoft Store, and I'd like to keep it under $300

Idk..I got these after coming off the arctis 9 and stealth 700..for the price wasn't too impressed with the sound..sounded no better than TB stealth 700 and worse than arctis 9...at this high price there's better options..like for insurance the nova pro just to mention one ...

Yep, although can be awkward if you're using the USB connection. If you use the 3.5mm aux, the you can plug directly into the front of the GOXLR Mini but you will lose specific features these headphones offer by using the USB interface.
Sound quality will be excellent. You'll just lose everything that comes included with the PC driver like the head tracking and spacial audio. But it'll still sound amazing.
Oof, I do not like the looks of this headset at all. It looks like it's something that was made 5-10 years ago (quality). Looks way too big, the pads already look really worn (no idea how long they were used up until the moment of making the video) and I feel like that in 1-2 years they're going to be even worse.
Is, the vibrating/cracking sound normal when you have bassy sound on max volume both in youtube and windows?, it disappear when i apply pressure on my right headphone that it seems like i need to have it sealed. any idea if this is normal or its faulty?
@@mhikko147 mine does that too, I’ve been having massive software issues with them, try disabling the anc it picks up the base and makes it crackly through the anc mic’s

This is hands down the most uncomfortable headset I have ever worn. Ive had it for a week now and i feel like my head will implode if i put it on again Its so tight on your head and creates suction in your ears (i also have a smaller than average head size too). Also the sound sucks, everything is so unnecessarily Bass heavy. And if you lower the bass it sounds even worse. Especially listening to music. If you're getting this headset to play competitive games i really do not recommend. This has just been my experience on PC.

Great question. I'm not sure you can turn off the voice prompts on this headset. It's not an option I saw anyway.

I got the newest Quantum 910 (for PC). Is it true the driver and overall sound is the exact same as the Quantum ONE?
I need a replacement for my SteelSeries Arctis Pro with DAC. Are these a good option. The Arctis pro are great but after 8 months they seem to have broken. One side of the ear is about to fall off.
A main contender to the Pro, I’d say give them a shot, we were impressed.
Went ahead and picked these up. Have to say i do love them sound and fit are great. I enjoy how the mic can be removed. The software not so much. The software is missing few things, well maybe more then few, but it does the job. After month I didn't mind . I do miss the Steelseries DAC and software/addons . At the end of the day i would have rather picked up the JBls rather than the stealseries. They are so much more comfortable and better sound quality.
So does it play very loud? That's all I wanna know
It was loud yes. But I never really play games at max volumes. So the headphones were plenty loud enough for me.
They don’t have Bluetooth mate.

Hi Nuovo! I just recently purchased a set of JBL Quantum One Headset. Even at max volume with the dial set to favor maximum game sound, set jbl q.one game as default playback device and every other settings cranked up to maximum (even its own software), the volume still remains too quiet. Do you possibly know the fix for this? Or anyone knows how to fix this? I'm on PC Windows 11 Pro

The sound quality of these headphones were great, and I couldn't recommend them more. The light behind me on the wall are part of the Nanoleaf Shapes range. We have a video on the channel if you're interested in seeing them in more detail.
If i play games like Fortnite and CsGo, should i keep them on dts mode or no dts mode?
When I played games, I didn't turn on DTS.
It would of been. Nice to know if you plug it into a controller you have none of the features except sound, no head tracking, no rgb no 360
Need USB power for the RGB stuff. Sorry we didn't mention it. Also need the drivers to access the software too. Still a great sounding headset without this stuff if you ask me.
Can this headset be hooked up to my phone to run discord while being plugged in to my Xbox?
Unfortunately that's something we didn't test for, but without deep diving into it, I doubt it. But I could be wrong.
Is it worth getting for PS5 I am looking to upgrade from quantum 300
I am using them for last 6 months, Sound is great, 7.1 works very nice, not that satisfied with quantum spatial sound. MICROPHONE stopped working now, once i adjust microphone arm sometimes it catch but once you move it gently MICROPHONE DOESN'T work. In my opinion it shouldn't happened in headset worth 220 pounds.

so im set up in the quantum engine in pc and after im plug in to my xbox conttoller with jack, the setup is working?
I could be wrong but I believe you need to connect to the PC using the USB connection from the headphones.
I have been using Microsoft rewards, and I want to buy a headset. What would be your recommendation? From what I am looking at, the JBL Quantum ONE, and Razer BlackShark V2 Pro are the two headsets I am thinking about. But I am limited to the Microsoft Store, and I'd like to keep it under $300

Nope. I believe it's either spacial audio for everything or nothing. I know what you mean about the under water effect though.
Idk..I got these after coming off the arctis 9 and stealth 700..for the price wasn't too impressed with the sound..sounded no better than TB stealth 700 and worse than arctis 9...at this high price there's better options..like for insurance the nova pro just to mention one ...

No you lose all of those features that you get on pc.

never mind i just figured it out… i had to go to my privacy setting on my computer and allow the mic on all apps

My audio doesn't work when its usb. IDK why but like it just doesnt work. I have it selected in sound settings to JBL something game and it doesnt work in games either
Make sure the sound card hasn't selected "speakers" as default, but headphones.

Yep, although can be awkward if you're using the USB connection. If you use the 3.5mm aux, the you can plug directly into the front of the GOXLR Mini but you will lose specific features these headphones offer by using the USB interface.

Not that I know of. Plugs straight into the controller or USB port. I could be wrong though. I didn't see wireless capability.

Sound quality will be excellent. You'll just lose everything that comes included with the PC driver like the head tracking and spacial audio. But it'll still sound amazing.
Oof, I do not like the looks of this headset at all. It looks like it's something that was made 5-10 years ago (quality). Looks way too big, the pads already look really worn (no idea how long they were used up until the moment of making the video) and I feel like that in 1-2 years they're going to be even worse.

Both similar, One has Quantumsphere 360 which is their surround sound but the 800 is wireless, everything else appears the same

Is, the vibrating/cracking sound normal when you have bassy sound on max volume both in youtube and windows?, it disappear when i apply pressure on my right headphone that it seems like i need to have it sealed. any idea if this is normal or its faulty?
No, that's not normal. Return them.

@@mhikko147 mine does that too, I’ve been having massive software issues with them, try disabling the anc it picks up the base and makes it crackly through the anc mic’s

Yep, but Steelseries high-end headsets are still great products. Not had much hands on experience with Astros though, so can't really comment.

@@Marco__xS uninstalling the usb drivers, reboot and plug the headset back in to let it run the self installer fixed this problem for me.

This is hands down the most uncomfortable headset I have ever worn. Ive had it for a week now and i feel like my head will implode if i put it on again Its so tight on your head and creates suction in your ears (i also have a smaller than average head size too). Also the sound sucks, everything is so unnecessarily Bass heavy. And if you lower the bass it sounds even worse. Especially listening to music. If you're getting this headset to play competitive games i really do not recommend. This has just been my experience on PC.
