      Dark Eldar are not a pleasant faction to collect - hence their low player count and sales numbers.

    Wraks have one advantage. When they die, they give you a pain token. Meaning you can put them in front to make the opponent have to decide. Remove them and give you pain token, or ignore them and allow you to screen and maybe even get objects.
    Not sure, if that is good enough to move them up a tier or not.
    I suspect much of these tiers will change when we get the codex and a Haemonculus Coven and a Wych Cult detachment.

    • @spnked9516
      @spnked9516 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would simply because of how heavily 10ed DE rely on pain tokens. It's a win more/lose more mechanic. If you don't pick up enough of them earlier you just tend to lose.
      Conversely, I'd drop wyches down a tier. GW effectively turned them horde unit that require you to run Lelith if you want them running anywhere near what they should be. By themselves, they don't hard enough to justify their glass cannon status, so they only really serve as meat shields for your dark lance units.

    The beast master should absolutely be tier one. The scout move allows early capture enemy outposts, and behind enemy lines with the massive scout move. Its got a ton of wounds for someone to chew through as well and is great for screening out no mans land to protect your force from early charges or to take a commanding amount if space on the board to stop t2 deepstrikes.
    I would always take 1 or maybe 2 no question. Biggest issue is figuring out how to represent them on table lol

    Bombers were auto take, now they are optional, they still are perfect fine and a B tier unit for DE, no where near as bad as RWJF or Hellions, heck you could take 1 in comp and be fine especially with the 4++ stratagem. Court are also new the top as well Tier 2 for your scale easily, they give the kabals major buffs and our of a transport with Lance, the unit already gives lethal hits, fighters first, and -1w, the Archon re-roll hits and wounds with a PT, the unit punch up hard for 85pts. Raider+Venom means when you get out of the raider the 4 weapons are anti-cover with lethal, rr all hits/wounds, they charge and do damage in melee as well. If near a transport with the enhancement the unit also now is stealth and cover from shooting, adding that -1 to wound rule from the Sslyth it gets tanky for a unit that already traded.

      Welcome. If I can make a suggestion, build your first one as a Cronos rather than Talos. It’ll be more immediately impactful. Talos are better run in pairs and especially if you’re flooding the board with 6 of them and a couple Cronos also. Whereas a single Cronos can stretch your pain tokens much further and is very tough for 50 points.

    While aircraft are generally unoptimal, Skari has been finding success with this one double Voidraven Bomber list. I think the bomber at least deserves tier 4.

  • @mikecosby40KAbridged
    @mikecosby40KAbridged 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    For Skysplinter specifically, I think Talos are down to T3. They are easily one of the most efficent units in the index, but they take so many points away from what Skyplinter wants, which is units in transports.
    Hellions need 1 keyword added back to have any discussion of usability. Infantry. Last edition they would blow throw a ruin that Reavers had to go around. As long as they are mounted they will always be bad Reavers.

    Even though the Bomber was nerfed (unnecessarily), I dont think it deserves tier 5. It’s Dark Scythes have been great in 2 of my recent games, and its still the only reliable Marine killing gun we have. I think maybe low tier 4 is more fair.

    I think these tier lists are my favourite of yours Auspex!
    The strengths and weaknesses are a close second.
    My friends and I have jumped on to the tabletop with this edition and despite being somewhat hot on the lore, we know little of what's worth spending our money on.
    Of course we know that meta changes and we should go with what we like aesthetically, but for example, I purchased a Canoptek Doomstalker when before I did so I thought a Triach Stalker would be a decent addition to the army but your videos showed me the weakness of the stalker.
    Always a head-scratcher that by the 10th edition of the game, there are such outliers such as flyers.

    Quick lore question. Does Slaanesh want to kill the Drukhari like she does the Aeldari? Obviously Slaany wants to give all the elf souls the big schlurrp. As she should, they are rightfully hers. But wouldn’t the actions of the Drukhari directly benefit her in the warp? They’re basically unintentional Slaanesh cultists right?

    • @pieterhellemans1190
      @pieterhellemans1190 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All the pain and torture they inflict on their slaves forms a sort of shield to slaanesh, it protects their souls from being torn apart. When they enter realspace for raids however slaanesh starts sucking their souls dry immediately, and they then must return to commoragh to recover their souls in all the pain and ecstasy that happens there. So they can't exist in realspace for long or they will be corrupted entirely by slaanesh. Of course you are correct that in doing so they are essentially doing the same thing as slaanesh cultists, just for different reasons

    • @daklr2501
      @daklr2501 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      If you read the drukhari lore, like the second thing it says in their codex is that for their decadent ways their souls are constantly and slowly being drained by slaanesh, so now they need to inflict suffering on others to rejuvenate themselves, body and soul, like one needs to breathe, eat, or drink water. According to the ynnari books they can go a few days without living off the suffering of others, but it causes their skin to prune up and their bodies to age rapidly. However in the path of the eldar books there is one case of an ex drukhari finding redemption, but as a consequence of their past, they still cannot use spirit stones (suppose it's called the path of damnation for a reason, dark eldar tarnish all spirit stones they touch, btw). I guess your best chance as a dark eldar might be gambling your soul with ynnead or cegorach.

    • @Sorth31
      @Sorth31 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Not entirely sure what current canon is, but back when the Dark Eldar were first introduced back in 1998 (damn I'm old now) it was hinted/spelled out that Commoragh basically existed outside of the influence of chaos due to being constructed entirely in the webway which unless they manage to breach the powers of chaos can't influence. The Dark Eldar could do whatever they wanted and none of the repercussions, theoretically, reached the warp (though there's always going to be some way for the gods to get what they want and there's no way the webway is completely fool proof. Also as soon as they left the webway all bets were off.) It's one reason why they hunt down and kill active psykers, they're an active threat to the stability of the city and can essentially plunge entire regions of it into the warp. Combine that with the Dark Eldar drawing strength from suffering and it's essentially each of them playing a game of tug-of-war with a chaos god but trying to hide behind a handful of flimsy barricades/fog of war.
      But yes, essentially you are correct. They're the remnants of the cults that actually birthed Slaanesh, so you could arguably even say that since they're well aware of the repercussions of what they do that at this point they're not even unintentional cultists anymore. Just unwilling/nihilistic ones.

    • @-Blackberry
      @-Blackberry 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The actions of the Drukhari do benefit Slaanesh indirectly but he/she/they would still much rather gobble them all up if given the chance.

    The Ravager special ability allows it to re-roll 1s to hit if the unit it targeted is at its starting strength which does seem weird, both rules-wise and fluff-wise, and could be a mistake made by GW's rules team. It would seem more in line with how Drukari operate and mechanically for in game to get those re-rolls against a wounded target rather than a full-strength target.

The FNP buff idea to grotesques would also be nice tbh. I man, if you can make Grotesques in a society where averyone wants you dead at one time or other, it wouldn't be unreasonable to make oneself a Grotuesque-type bodyguard. As things are right now, if you want to run a list themed more heavily towards the wych or haemonculi cults you are punished for doing so.
