Of course in the 80s we didn't have all the medical advancements we have now. My 3rd baby was breech but didn't find out till a month before he was born. My midwife told me to let gravity work for me so every day I laid in a slanted position with my butt and feet raised and he did indeed flip around and was born naturally at 9 lbs 2 Oz.
My son was like your daughter breech my entire pregnancy. I did all the same things you did and he flipped around 34 weeks. I definitely felt it happen. I was able to give birth vaginally.
I'll be 34 weeks on Tuesday, and my baby is still frank breech 😅 I've also been dealing with low AFI/borderline AFI this entire time. I'm a 4th year medical student and also have been humbled by this experience. So many similarities with you Dr. Ali! 🤣🫣😅 I feel you!!!!!
This might be a silly question: If baby does move, would you feel the change in position or would it just feel like other movements throughout the pregnancy?
My baby was frank breech my entire pregnancy. Then at 37 weeks I went into labor and she was head down and ready to come out. 😅 🙏🏻 Hoping your little one decides to position right. ❤
I commented on your low amniotic fluid video, also 34 weeks now and he’s still breech so I’m right there with you! Every week before my BPP I convince myself he’s flipped and the sonographer is like, baby’s still breech. Send flipping energy to both our babes!
I’m the same way!! I feel big movements and I’ll scan myself and she’s still breech the little stinker!! Sending all the positive vibes your way (and mine😅)!!
I had a successful ECV with oligohydramnios at 37 weeks followed by immediate induction and successful vaginal delivery. I feel like I never hear ECV success stories so here’s one for you. I tried all the maneuvers including handstands 😂 Hope your little one flips! 😊
I had done all the stretches, walking, ball sitting since tri 2. Found out at 34 wks he was breech, continued trying to flip and was sad. I did everything in my power to flip. He ended up deciding to come early at 36 wks 5 days - water broke in the middle of night and I had to have a section. It was scary but the best way to go. I'm so glad he made that choice for me (it was also during a heat wave - thankful I was in hospital during that.) My partner bonded with me through my healing process - helping take my first steps, 💩 for the first time post op. My baby boy is 8 weeks and thriving!! I wish there wasn't this stigma with sections, because it's all normal. Not saying you have this opinion; but we tend to feel sad because of sections because we can still bond, grow and be powerful during this type of birth! Good luck!!
I was told when I was 13 that I could not give birth naturally, and that is something that still makes me sad at 28 years old. Having my first baby I definitely felt like I missed out on that part of birth. C-sections are just different and it makes me emotional seeing everyone’s birth stories and how am amazing their experience was. I will always be a bit sad I won’t get to do that and share it with my husband. You are allowed to be upset about it ❤ wishing you a happy and safe delivery, whichever way that happens.
Thank you Dr. Ali for this video. My son was breech, and I wasn’t a good candidate for an ECV due to position of my placenta and size of my baby. When I learned about this, I was completely devastated - exactly for the reasons you listed. I wasn’t aware how much I was looking forward to feeling the contractions and coping with them with the help of my husband. Whoever I talked with made me feel (although unintentionally) kind of guilty and ungrateful for having an otherwise perfect pregnancy and baby, but thanks to your video now I feel like I was allowed to grieve over this. I did have a c section, all went well, my son is perfect . But I still feel a bit misty when I hear vaginal delivery stories. I wish you all the best, and all the luck in the world!
You’re 9 weeks ahead of me. Baby girl is due Feb 2024. I feel like I’m growing with you and getting a little glimpse of what’s just ahead ❤ Thank you for sharing your knowledge and first hand experiences.
I was in the same situation and swimming in the pool is what got my baby girl head down! I had a vaginal delivery and very blessed and grateful for my girl 💕
I’m currently 34 weeks and doc said at my appointment this week that baby was breech based off of where her heart (rate) was located. I was super surprised because she was head down at my 32 week ultrasound. Praying for the both of us!
I had twins. One was breech. I had a csection at 37 weeks. Everything was great. I dont know labor pain. One of the twins was meassured twice during the last ultrasound so we thought that they were 6 pounds each and we were ready. During the c section we discovered that one was 6 pounds and the other one 3.15 pounds so tiny. If we had waited until 40 weeks I dont know what could had happened to my little one. Dont be afraid of csection. I know not everyone is the same but I had a quick recovery, no labour no pain. I was walking in the halls 5 hour after. God bless you. I will pray for you and your baby Dr.
My first baby was breech from 27 weeks to 37 weeks. The day they were gonna schedule a c-section for the following week, that morning she turned … I felt a big movement but I had given up on the thought of her turning cos I tried almost everything and she was stubborn as heck (and still is lol) and she really stuck it out through to almost the end. I had her the following week. Hopefully your little one cooperates on time! Tho I remember with her pregnancy, my ribs were so sore, they felt almost bruised cos I would wake up with her head nestled in my ribs. With my pregnancy after, he was head down the whole time, and from about 32 weeks, the pelvic pain was not fun lol
My baby was transverse then complete breach I did spinning baby’s also had massage and chiropractic care lots of muscle work in the hips and muscles that connect 2 appts with my chiropractor and she switch to head down at 36 weeks ! Good luck and thank you for always sharing your OB knowledge!
My middle baby was breech. A homeopathic doctor recommended rubbing my belly counterclockwise. I had nothing to lose, it worked like a charm. Didn't feel great, but I was thankful.
Successfully flipped my breech baby via ECV at 37 weeks. Was induced after the flip due to high blood pressure and vaginally delivered. Was so happy with my ECV/pitocin story ♥️
Awww sorry your getting bummed out…. You and Cory will still be bonding no matter how the baby makes her appearance into the world… sending you great big hugs and prayers for the baby to flip and everything to go smoothly for you!
I really love that I found you on YT a couple of months ago. It is awesome we have been going through our pregnancies together, when you upload a video I’m in the same spot. I’m 35w 3 days ❤ I can’t wait for all of us moms to meet our babies!
I had a c-section. You might not get the bonding of going through labor but you for sure get the bonding with your partner when they have to help you with everything after you have a c-section.
Fully believe the health care worker phenomenon! I used to be a PCT and am now a medical student -- I have GDM requiring insulin 2x/day and very strict diet, had a partial placenta previa for a little bit, and now baby is frank breech. I'm only 24 weeks, so I'm hoping he flips, but we'll see!
I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and I’ve been extremely scared of C section as well as natural delivery even though I wish for natural birth. My baby girl was transverse for most of the pregnancy until 36 weeks and a half apparently she moved. I’m praying she is still in the right position at the moment but I can tell you those exercises you’re doing helped in my opinion! Sending prayers and let’s hope that both our girls will come into this works healthy and in the most natural way possible.
I cannot sugar coat it and say c section is fun because for me personally it wasn’t. But one thing I’d say focus on is having healthy baby and you. Make sure you focus on breathing that helped me a lot to stay calm. It’s definitely an experience to say the least just be gentle with yourself and take it easy. It all will be okay ❤ sending positive prayers.
If you can find an experienced provider, you might have the option to safely have a vaginal breech birth. Breech Without Borders has a list of breech providers that can provide support. (It's like a google directory so a general list, you have to vett them yourself). They also have a lot of great videos and information.
I’m really glad you spoke to this because I’m pregnant with my 3rd and always wondered what would happen/what options would I have if my baby was breech. I’ve had 2 great uncomplicated vaginal deliveries but if this baby is breech, I think I’d elect for a C section. Don’t like the risks involved with a breech delivery at all! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Very informative!
My girl was 30+ weeks breech. We did the spinning babies exercises, specifically the forward leaning inversion. Do that super pregnant was so uncomfortable but she flipped by 36 weeks!
I felt the same way you felt I wanted the same bonding experience with my husband I cried felt like a failure. Had one emergency c section and 2nd one was scheduled. But every birth story is different 🤍 and there all beautiful stories. Hoping your babygirl shifts around. God bless you and your family🙏🏼🤍
I learned a new to me term because of our 3rd kiddo - transverse! No matter who turned her during the last week, she wouldn't stay head down - or even head up! She used my womb as her hammock. Yes, a C-section was deemed necessary. She still teaches me new things, and we love her so much!
I had my son in the early 90's. He was transverse for most of my pregnancy, around week 34 or so he turned head down. Then a week before I actually delivered, he flipped transverse (Ouch). Thank goodness, he didn't like being transverse, and went back down within the day.
Correct me if I'm wrong but also opting for a Vaginal delivery does not take away the chance for a C section if things go south. So it's better to have a planned C section for a breech baby than an emergency one, at least it gives you time to prepare for it, it's less stressful and the situation is more under control. Good luck for everyone in this situation and I wish you a safe delivery 😊
YOU ARE JUST SO AWESOME!!! I'm such a medical fact geek so I just adore your videos and I just love YOU!! Thank you for such informative, factual awesome and entertaining content. LOVE IT!! Can not wait to see your precious little baby girl!!
My second baby girl was discovered to be breech at 36 weeks. She refused to turn and those weeks were agonizing! I did so much processing emotions and mourning the birth I had envisioned. She finally flipped at 39 weeks + 3 days the day before our scheduled c-section! It was absolutely an act of God. She then refused to come. I was induced at 42 weeks exactly and she was born the following morning at 12:30am on the dot. It was a wild ride with this stubborn girl! Praying that your sweet girl will flip; but if not, that your birth will still be beautiful, fulfilling, and full of joy. It’s okay to mourn what you envisioned whilst finding joy in the process.♥️
My first two babies were breech! Tried an ECV with my first 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 I’m very petite and was quite fit leading up to pregnancy so it did not go well for me. Thankfully, I did have great c section experiences and went on to have another 2 babies after that! 4 c sections later, I’m a non-physician c-section pro now 🤣 after mourning what I hoped would be my perfect birth, I embraced all the benefits and choose to be so grateful for medical technology and my wonderful doctor who kept my babies and me both alive and safe. Praying your baby flips but regardless, that you’re birth would be a wonderful experience!! ❤️
As a provider, you probably know this.. but .. Chiropractic! There are some great Webster certified chiros that help so many mamas with this. Not sure whats ur take on it but it cant hurt to try!❤️❤️ best of luck! You got this!
i had a footling breech and failed ECV. i was glad i got to try it but it was extremely painful and i was still sore when my water broke and i had to get an emergency c section. the birth went smoothly and i was confident we were taken care of and weren't at risk of injury or death. my first vaginal birth was traumatic due to low vitals and baby being rushed to the nicu. i have 2 healthy kids and am so thankful for the medical staff who took care of us.
I had an ecv at 37 weeks third baby it was successful! My situation was definitely unique. My third baby was a vbac2c. Found an amazing supportive team it was amazing. Also something you didn’t mention was chiropractic care. Look into it if you haven’t already. Definitely praying for flipping baby vibes ❤good luck.
That’s my next step, chiropractor… Apparently slight rotation of the pelvis can contribute to breech positioning! With my other little one 17 months old, I suspect my hips are out of alignment from carrying him on one hip all the time…
37 weeks and 2 days here! Incomplete breech. My fluid level is good. Hopefully baby boy can flip on his own. Planning on the ECV. I had gestational ITP last time. So far my platelets level is still OK. At least I can get the epidural this time! Good luck to you, Dr. Ali!
My Family Practice Dr. (small town & in 1990) didn't do an ultrasound for me. I had preclampsia for my 1st & now this second pregnancy. The anesthesiologist couldn't get the epidural in so he went with a general-hubby told me they both said, "Wow, it's breech." how times have changed
I had my breech daughter a year ago, never flipped with lots of efforts to try and get her to. I knew she was breech based on her movements--and doctors never did a scan until I brought up my concerns at 36 weeks. I was scheduled for a 37 weeks scan and confirmed breech. I wish I had said something sooner!
My third was breech/transverse throughout my entire pregnancy as well. I had a successful ECV at 38w2d, spontaneous labor 8 days later, delivered 27 hours later. Labor was weird because his head never engaged. They decided to do a pinhole water break at 8-9 cm. He had a double nuchal cord and was all wrapped up, around his chest, shoulders, etc., so that definitely explained why nothing I tried myself worked to get him to flip. My OB with that pregnancy did the ECV in the OR with a spinal so she could keep trying until it either worked or the baby stopped tolerating it, in which case she would just do a c-section right then. I was very glad I couldn't feel anything. It was NOT gentle, lol.
We found out at 32 weeks my baby was breech. The ECV didn't work. My Doctor just told me," I will see you in the operating room in about 20 mins". I had a c section. She was 9 lbs and 6 oz. I hope your baby will turn.
Hi, I know this was posted a while ago, but I'm scheduling an ECV with epidural for next week, and was wondering if that's what you ended up having to do? Just wondering how much the epidural really helped, as most of the people online weren't given the option. Hope everything is going well for you now.
I had a ECV no success! He never flipped and started to have contractions at week 38- 4 days before scheduled c section. We had c section! Totally get all the emotions… and they are all valid! Hoping she flips 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽❤
I totally feel what you are feeling. My dr was on vacation and the Np let me know baby is breech. She said my doc will let me know my options next appointment. Well now I am here stressing out at 36 weeks! I feel so down about this. Literally doing everything in my power before knowing she's breech.
I got the breech tilt to work at 35 weeks with my 5th child. No problems with any of the others but he went transverse and then full on breech for a week. Did so much inversion that didn’t seem to budge him but a steep breech tilt worked.
I also read the 58% success rate for ECVs, but apparently with first time mums it’s more like 33%. Have you ever read that/confirm that it’s more likely to work for 2nd, 3rd, 4th+ time mums?
My daughter was breech. I also wasn’t a good candidate for ECV due to lower fluid and her size. I tried allllll the things from spinning babies and even used an inversion table to see if it would help… nope!! I was so scared and literally said my entire pregnancy that I just did not want a C-section because early on I also had placenta previa but thankfully that cleared up. Everyone thought it was crazy for me to do a scheduled C-section for my first child but I followed my doctors advice for our safest option. Was it the delivery I expected?? No and it wasn’t easy, BUT I am thankful at the end of the day because we were both safe. It was also kinda nice to have a scheduled time for her to come because I had everything ready and was able to take a couple of days off from work before her birthday to ensure I had all the last minute things done. I’m pregnant again, almost 14 weeks. Is it true that I have a higher probability of having another breech baby?
My second daughter was a preemie footling breech. I went to the hospital saying I could feel something weird down there. My doctor didn't really believe me until she did an ultrasound.
Congratulations and I'm pregnant with baby #6 and don't know how far long I am cuz I recently just found out Nov 5th first baby appointment on Nov 27th. And never had a breech baby.
Would you mind talking about iron deficient anemia during pregnancy? Risks and treatment at labor/delivery? Googling always leads to worst case scenarios and being almost 37 weeks pregnant, I'm getting stressed!
I had my first daughter back in 2020 and I found out at 35 weeks that she was transverse with her feet down. I was set up with a C-section and at my last appointment before that, she had flipped! What did I do? I was swimming in my parents' pool! I swear, I felt it when she flipped while I was swimming! I'm currently 29 weeks with my second daughter and while she still has a ways to go, she's also currently transverse. Since we're heading into winter, I won't be able to swim, so I'll need to try some other ideas to see if I can get this little one to flip herself around!
New follower. Binging your content! What are your thoughts on water/home births? If you have a clip on it already, lmk and I’ll keep looking for it. Ty and congratulations 🎉❤
My husband and I bonded after my c section….I took too much gas medicine for the painful gas, that I shit myself. He cleaned me up 😂😂😂😂 took our relationship to a whole new level 😅❤❤
I remembered when I was pregnant with my son and he was breech around 16 weeks then after he was turned around 32 weeks… ❤ but in middle of October I had an successful C section that went well 😅
DIOS TE BENDIGA ATI Y TU BEBE ❤❤❤❤
I love watching OBGYN’s that are prego for the first time Bc they always would say to others “Oh that’s normal and blah blah blah” now you really get it don’t you? 😂😂😂
Sending flipping energy your way!!! 😊😊😊 Can we talk about this edema!!!! I’ll be 34weeks on 11/7 and I’m starting to see swollen. My goodness my feet are starting to look like sausages lol.
My baby didn't turn. I had a planned c section for health reasons. Her head was flat on top and the doctors showed the students mentioning that this usually happens when the baby stays breach for a while lol. She was very chill in the womb. She is now a couch potato. My first baby also matched his energy in the womb. He kicked me constantly. His legs were always going in me and in between my ribs. And those legs are always moving now. 😂 you know your children before you deliver them
Your daughter was thinking, "Ok mom, let's get us A LOT MORE SUBS ON OUR TH-cam CHANNEL! I'm Gonna STAY BREECH so that ppl will stay tuned in and show lots MORE ppl about our channel so that THE WHOLE WORLD WILL SEE OUR CHANNEL!! After all, mom, we gotta make money with this channel so u can buy me TONS OF TOYS and LOTS OF CUTE CLOTHES AND JEWELRY!!!" LOVE your videos and I'm a single 55yr old woman who never had a baby😿
Mine flipped and then when labor came he flipped back around and he was trying to come out butt first. The dr was like you can push him out that way but it can cause him nerve damage. I said no take me for a c section as I’m not risking him any injury not to mention me ripping from one hole to the other.
Having a breech vaginal delivery is a variation of normal- this needs to be brought back and taught in medical school…but follow the money… when health care providers make more money doing cesareans, that’s exactly what they will do and they scare the mother into having a surgery
Im 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant and i found out yesterday that baby is breeched and im terrified of a c-section and im trying everything to get him to flip.
I was born before ultrasounds. They knew I was a girl before I came out because my feet were tucked up around my ears. Fortunately for my Mom I was a little over 5 pounds.
i waz born frank breeck in 1969- mom had me vaginally. One thing i read is that many frank breech babies have back problems in adulthood- that has been my experience, also.
My twins were both born breech. They were transverse and a scheduled c section. I would’ve had a c section either way with them but had it earlier due to blood pressure elevation at the end.
You said depending how far along into your pregnancy you are the cervix can closed around babies neck when delivering. Is this more common in full term or premature deliveries? Just curious as I had a vaginal breech delivery at 30weeks. X
I’m 37 weeks today with my 7th pregnancy. She is my first breach baby. I’m so scared because I have a previous placenta abruption with a still birth. Would you take the chance to flip the baby if this was the case? I don’t want ac section but I never want to mess around with my placenta.
I found out at pretty much at 38/39 weeks that my baby is transverse😭 trying so hard but im already loosing amniotic fluid, cramping a lot and dialated. Trying hard to have her flipped. But she seems to be very comfortable in her position😔
My bby has been breech since 15wks i also have low amniotic fluid n I'm constantly scared cuz of d health factors dat bby cud b born with but im glad to know dat it is possible dat bby cud flip closer dwn to birth im now 33weeks in my pregnancy......does anyone who had low fluid had health factors during pregancy n is ur bby born as yet n how is it going
Had ECV w/ 2nd baby at 37 weeks. Took one minute. They induced me afterward. He came out in 7 hours and I pushed twice (first baby 36 hour, pushed for hours). I'm 5'1 and was apt 135 lbs, baby 7'11. I'm super thankful my MD was able to do the ECV.
Im almost 34 weeks I have my dr appointment tomorrow I'm pretty sure the baby is breech because of the kick and hiccups location Starting to worry I reallly don't want a c section scar😢

Omg literally the same situation!! Hopefully these babies start making more fluid and flip🤞🏽🤞🏽!!
This might be a silly question: If baby does move, would you feel the change in position or would it just feel like other movements throughout the pregnancy?
@xjwxsweetness My son was frank breech till 38 weeks, then he somersaulted and locked down head first. I definitely felt it.
I also have borderline low amniotic fluid, my AFI has been dancing around 7-8 and baby is breech! How did your pregnancy and delivery end up going?
My baby was frank breech my entire pregnancy. Then at 37 weeks I went into labor and she was head down and ready to come out. 😅 🙏🏻 Hoping your little one decides to position right. ❤

Hi! I had twins & baby A was breech. I got a scheduled c section & did great! I wish you the best of luck. You will do great as well!
I’ve had 6 vaginal deliveries. The last 2 were successful ECV procedures. My doctor is a rock star and I’m so glad that it worked for me.

I would never opt to labor with a breech baby! So if she doesn’t flip then I’ll have a scheduled section❤️
Ali!
Omg. Good luck ! I hope everything is safe and you both are healthy
Can you do a video on what causes the c section shelf that forms around the scar and if there are any ways to avoid it? Thank you!
Great question!!
My twin girls are nearly 14 1st girl born normal 2nd born breach. Thank God all went well. God bless you and your baby girl on safe delivery
I love this video. I call my baby little buddha because he keeps on sitting with his legs criss crossed. So cute on ultrasound
how did it go in the end? thank you so much for sharing, wish you all the best
Nice Owala bottle 🤩 the way you share this information like a human being is so great. Thank you for educating us!
You are so sweet! Thank you for your video. I hope your baby girl flips for you♥️
Hey!! Why would you be cursed, please don’t think like that. You will do great, and the baby will do great! ❤
Positive vibes your way momma❤
Spinning babies!! Forward leaning inversion 3 times a day.
I can completely relate with all of the emotions around having a breech baby girl. My daughter refused to flip!
Anything I can do I am 14 weeks and my placenta decided to come low. Plz pray its gets back to normal position. For now I am told many care tips.
Congratulations and I'm pregnant with baby #6 and don't know how far long I am cuz I recently just found out Nov 5th first baby appointment on Nov 27th. And never had a breech baby.
Chiropractor to get myself adjusted (twice a week) flipped my baby 🙂 (chiropractor was certified in pregnancy care)
Unrelated but your dog is so cute!
During my c section my OB discovered my breech baby had one leg up by her head and the other one already through my cervix. 😵💫
You should do the prepregnancy clothes challenge before baby comes! Might be fun to look back on.
Wait I haven’t heard of this challenge!! What is it?!
@@alirodmd it's where you try on outfits from before pregnancy and see how they fit now. Kind of a celebration of our how your body has changed.
My husband and I bonded after my c section….I took too much gas medicine for the painful gas, that I shit myself. He cleaned me up 😂😂😂😂 took our relationship to a whole new level 😅❤❤
Hi can you answer the question as to why obese women are declined vbacs
I remembered when I was pregnant with my son and he was breech around 16 weeks then after he was turned around 32 weeks… ❤ but in middle of October I had an successful C section that went well 😅
I wish i could hug you!!
DIOS TE BENDIGA ATI Y TU BEBE ❤❤❤❤
I love watching OBGYN’s that are prego for the first time Bc they always would say to others “Oh that’s normal and blah blah blah” now you really get it don’t you? 😂😂😂
God is with you all.
Sending flipping energy your way!!! 😊😊😊
Can we talk about this edema!!!! I’ll be 34weeks on 11/7 and I’m starting to see swollen. My goodness my feet are starting to look like sausages lol.
Dr Ali❤ thank you for this !
After all, mom, we gotta make money with this channel so u can buy me TONS OF TOYS and LOTS OF CUTE CLOTHES AND JEWELRY!!!"
LOVE your videos and I'm a single 55yr old woman who never had a baby😿
I'm currently 32 weeks and 4 days, 33 weeks on Wednesday ❤❤ having a girl
My twins were both born breech. They were transverse and a scheduled c section. I would’ve had a c section either way with them but had it earlier due to blood pressure elevation at the end.
I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but what causes low fluid for them? Us, as mothers literally not drinking enough fluids? 😳
When i was 36 weeks my baby was breech 37 they fliped the baby with difficulty. Now im 39 weeks and i cant wait untill delivery day
Did you try the book Spinning Babies to flip baby?
I had a breach baby it didn't turn out good but this happened over 40 years ago.
I pray everyone's babies come in perfect position for vaginal delivery.
I love your vulnerability 🤍 I hope she flips for you! Go baby go!
If you're able to do a vaginal birth, are you planning to have an epidural?
Im almost 34 weeks
I have my dr appointment tomorrow
I'm pretty sure the baby is breech because of the kick and hiccups location
Starting to worry
I reallly don't want a c section scar😢
I am 34 weeks and 6 days pregnant and my OB said my baby is still in breech position
