I had no idea you played TF2 professionally, that’s really cool! And this video gives pretty good tips on how to to improve, I’ve been trying to practice stopping playing when frustrated, but it can be hard sometimes.
It's all about that discipline. Especially as modern games I feel are all about the ranked match making experience. When I play Apex now if I find myself having 3 or more bad games in a row where I don't enjoy myself I take that break and watch youtube videos (obviously my own ones)
I’m trying to become a good Clash Royale player, and I think tilt management is one of the big things stopping me from being good. Thanks for this video!
Great vid buddy. Went from faceit lvl 1 to lvl 10 (in csgo) in a year cause I felt like I could. The biggest problem I saw was mindset and toxic. I feel like 90% of the players play the same but what separate me from the lvl7-8 is the mindset of "it ain't over till it's over". Some players give up so quick and put down team mates. I am worse then some of these players but they keep kneecapping themselves with a lack of proper social skills. If they are automuted I just leave them muted and if team mates get baited into arguing I warn them and then mute them too.
One of the main reasons why I stopped playing CSGO & Dota2 is because I hate having team mates that get tilted. I find that it's just too much effort to try and stop people from arguing with each other and if it escalates further it just means the game is ruined and you can be stuck in it for like 20+ minutes of misery.
would love to see a in-depth Competitive TF2 guide from you! this was an incredibly cool thing to find that one of my favorite gaming peripheral reviewer was a professional TF2 player!
love ur channel even more after this video, the fact that you played tf2, one of my absolute favorite games from mu childhood, professionally is such a cool thing to me.
The part about blaming others is seriously a huge thing for me as I poor very poorly in games because its just inherent with me, having ADHD and all, and with teammates getting mad at me for being bad at the game is seriously damaging for me who is already inherently "different" in the first place.
01:08 I got tired of sitting right at some point and started playing very similar to this and umm... My aim was really good and my mmr was at its peak. Was also easy for my back for some reason.
man the wasted potential of TF2. I was a scout player in esea-o but had no clue you were WARHURYEAH. Pretty sure I saw you in frag videos in the past, haha. still an absolute banger and i'm sad the genre is just that and OW2
A while ago I thought this was my idea of “long term goal”. But now I know gaming just isn’t for me, as of now I’m really just pursuing something in college and sticking to that as “long term”. I just feel defeated…
I've been watching the channel for a little while now and this is one of your best videos, in my opinion. It was great to hear some points we might not take into consideration and liked the relaxed and concise approach to the video.
This is a bit off-topic but my cousin and I used to love taking turns playing The Battle for Middle-Earth RTS. Hardest difficulty was literally impossible for either of us. Fast-forward half a decade and we started LANing, doing team matches (just us). After two days we were wiping the floor vs 4 AI teams on max difficulty. Could go back to solo vs 2 and still win, 3 was challenging but often doable. I think the pressure of expectation from my teammate made me focus on where I was wasting my time. Base building stopped being theoretical and started being a kind of enemy. It's amazing the difference practice can make.
@bbrother92 I think it was a goal orientated mindset. For example, my cousin would say "okay I'm going to attack" and then I'd scramble to make a few units to join in to help. Not very effective so next time I focused on making more units early. It was just many variations of this that taught me what to focus on in early game. Having another player on your team also takes some of the pressure off, but the pressure it adds to be just as good or better was probably more helpful.
Thanks. This validated what I am doing. I’m 38 working professional, and wanted to test myself in halo so I joined a league and saw where I stood lol. It was fun tho and my team mates liked playing with me.
Been watching you for a yr and didn't know you were WARHURYEAH. I played TF2 comp for yrs and was just shy of ESEA invite my last season but even in NA I saw your name a bunch. Keep up the good content :> ♥
I also feel like people shouldn’t feel pressured to be better. If that’s what you want, that’s fine but I personally get the most fun by training my aim and I hate learning about the other stuff. I know I’ll never reach the top ranks and I’m cool with that. I play games to have fun with friends and shooting better is fun.
I preffer playing offline shooters like modded doom (1993-1994). And i mostly want to get better at aiming because the mod i play with (Project Brutality 3.0) is pretty hard, mostly because the enemies the mod adds have very good aim and reaction time.
@@jacobmcintyre6410 I've learned video games require a certain level of natural skill first. Everyone has a skill cap based on physical factors like reaction time and hand eye coordination, not to mention even if those are perfect you have people who do nothing but play these games and know minor nuances that we could never learn naturally with the time we have spent in those games. It sucks because I know I have natural talent in COD but just don't have the time or the reaction time I did when I was a teen.
I definitely agree with the swallow your pride tip. In my game of choice, forza Motorsport, there are cars that are simply better than others. You might want to not use those OP cars but if someone with the same skill level as you uses these cars, you’re going to have a way tougher time. So sometimes if you can’t beat them, join them.
I wish I had friends, so that I could duo q or smth. I love to play cs, but since I don't speak russian, I can't understant most callouts which is just a pity. And Valorant it's the same thing, I am not the best and therefor I am getting trashtalk every game which makes communication harder als well. I would like to find a constant duo, but the on the dc I only find people to play on match or sth, maybe tips to find constant partner?
"dude, why are you always in the fire range, lets play" First 3-5 minutes in, they get knocked and start screaming where the other player is and how much health they have. "ONE SHOT, HE'S ONE SHOT DUDE" Proceed to hit the "one shot"''; still has shields. -_- Get pummeled by a third party. That's one SKILL I learned early on. Find people that find the range as interesting as yourself.
"unless it's chess" Laughed a bit But yeah, chess is fucked. If you aren't a grandmaster by your early to mid teens nowadays you're never going to make it

@@RoboshOfficial same here man. you’re not alone. i recently got a console about 4 months ago and not only the fact im still getting the feel of a controller down, i just can’t seem to be good at any game. it’s as if i have no eye coordination

How much value would you place in skill practice against teammates vs against randos?
