Shredders make such compulsive viewing - it's like watching train crashes or airline disasters without the unbearable sense of guilt of knowing that you're witnessing genuine tragedies occurring. It's nice not having to look away in shame.
I'm interested in the various 'tooth' designs of the rollers (or whatever they're called). There's so much variation in size, number, overlap, spacing and pitch. Some of the biggest machines pulverise rather than shred; do recycling plants feed their initial relatively large chunks into finer shredders to yield a more useful or manageable end product? 🤔
