@@Inf7cted the first time I showed interest in these machines was, as a child, when I first saw that machine squashed in the 007 Goldfinger movie. You know the force necessary to bend the iron, with your hands it is impossible, yet those machines do it very easily and they give me a great feeling of strength and power, especially when you see those huge pliers that tear the motors or cut in two a truck. Great!

Why is it that in every video sledgehammers are put in the crushing machines and do not get shown to be crushed? Can it crush them or not?
it probably can, but it woulda kinda struggle since the blade doesn't really bite the hammer, its just floating, without doing anything

yeah that would not really work out too well. I used to work with an industrial one that weighed over 300 pounds! no way ANY shredder could handle that. these ARE fun to watch AND listen to though!

So what happens to all that scrap after it is shredded? Recyclers won't take it cause it is mixed with steel, aluminum, plastic, rubber and wood.
watching electrical components and parts usually in machines fall into a shredder and be utterly destroyed kinda reminds me of watching a human body be destroyed since both had a use before being... ya know, shredded. The human body is strong but so are a lot of the things in the video.
