The only reaspn he hesitates so much for killing gods is because he has seen its consequences ..... The whole pantheon goes extinct thats why he doesn't want to kill gods
The devs actually said that thor only knocked kratos out, which makes sense because for thor to revive kratos, kratos would have to die which is impossible due to a curse that was put on him after he slaughtered a village and his own wife and daughter

Spartan rage is the usual state of Kratos in all 3 parts when he was always angry and hateful towards everyone and because of this he was so strong, and now he restrains himself almost all the time without fighting with all his might, so when he starts to get angry (Spartan rage ) he can immediately kill all the Scandinavian gods
