And how about my DC CDI motorcycle is running then the battery charging system fail will the engine stop and not be able to start after the battery becomes empty because the charging system suddenly failed?
I had switched my stock for the orange CDI on my Peace Sports scooter about a year ago and when I hold the ignition and it starts right up with no hesitation. Not sure how long these last though, as it does take slightly longer to start up now. But it could be my battery, which I may need to replace soon. Edit 4/09/19: My orange CDI Still going strong, and had to install a bigger battery since I had a big bore kit installed a few months ago. I also recently bought the blue CDI, seems to not start my scooter as easily as my orange one, but I seem to get slightly better acceleration on the blue one. I'll have to see how long it holds up though.

the information on your headlights and scooters it will run the headlights because you're not creating power from the stator to power the headlights they don't run off the battery batteries just cranks the starter
Some of your information is not accurate at all on the AC system the light will not turn on unless it's running because the stator has to be creating power in order for the lights to work so if you kick over your scooter and your headlights turn on and flicker it's an AC system and also your light will be very dim on idle and when you rev up your engine the light will increase in brightness also a Telltale sign that you are running an AC CDI also will run without a battery because it creates its own electricity to run Battery is for lights and other options alarm radio what have you they use the same concept on Dragsters that's why they don't have to have a battery or starter they started externally and once it's running it doesn't turn off unless you kill the fuel
Not entirely true. My bike is an AC system and right away I replaced the cdi with the blue ac one. Later I installed an ignition switch, battery, regulator/rectifier, and a whole lighting system. The way I hooked the system up (made my own harness) all the lights work with ignition switch turned on without bike running because the power goes from the stator-coil-cdi-rectifier-battery. From there fuse box to lights. The rectifier charges the battery still and of course if I leave the headlight on for too long I lose juice in the battery and my system dies. However I can still kick it over.

I ran a push button to the steering wheel and then to the starter relay. So if the headlights are not turned on the kart won't start. Its to keep the kids from taking it with out permission. Little simple trick
They say your headlights only come on when the bike is running if its ac, my headlights come on when I turn the key. There dim and brighten up when I start the bike. I replaced my cdi with a ac cdi and haven't had any issues. Its identical to the stock.

He meant that it won't die if you disconnected the battery when running and you'll still be able to Kickstart if you have one. The headlight usually runs by default on these.. your light switch is probably for the high beam. What motor do you have?

I bought the yellow adjustable DC cdi for a 50cc atv but it won't start when it's plugged in. I tried messing with the timing but it still won't fire. Any ideas?
I recently bought the blue racing cdi but the 5 pin anyways my 110cc pit bike ran good for like five minutes and now wont start at all green light was on and attempts to light up when I kick it over I dont have electric start is this a problem or am I missing something?????
Generic on 2 Wheel's _ it should be a pink wire but I don't know about your scooter. I cut the pink wire on my scooter and it revs up in the 10,000 rpms but results may vary

oh the wires was touching so i cut them an capped them together now its working finecheck the wires inside the connectors my was fray an touching so i cut them an capped them together an it works fine
if you scooter runs on AC the best is the no rev CDI, the orange, But be careful on reving your scooter to high, it can burn the oil fast due to excess of heat.. the blue one has limitations on rev maps to not force your engine.
On your information on the DC CDI is not accurate the wire that is disconnect is your kill switch trx300ex has 2 CDI 1 that is ac one reverse that is DC one for forward
That blue CDI had made my 1st gear to feel like a 3rd gear. But I am of course; using a 3 electrode spark plug to a 93 octane gasoline. I weigh at 198 lbs on this 155 lbs 125cc bike. I believe that I was reaching 25 mph at a 1 second acceleration. ... Sigh, this strong @$$ CDI had destroyed my cheap ass plastic gas cap LOL;;; It was asking for too much air suction at a time.
Ok one question i have big box cdi and i think its dc but the lights come on even if the engine its stop but also if i dissconect the battery the engine its not stopping all little cdi i plug in distroy the fuse...what in the hell its my cdi? Hahaha
We need to see the difference of all tge boxes on a scooter dyno test and compare the graphs and readings. To. My knowlege all boxen are about the same. Difference is just some fancy design and a rev limmiter. No advance
Yep.. mostly just hype bs. I got an orange one to try on my taotao and noticed no difference from the stock black one. Also from my understanding, there is no CDI that truly offers advancement.. in reality, it might retard by 350 deg and call it a 10deg advance.
You can connect a bulb to the power supply while running, and put a strong magnet next to the bulb, if the filimen moves it's ac, if not it is DC😜 just in case you don't have any means to test for ac or DC,. If it moves back and forth, it's ac, it could be pulsed DC it would move only one way!
Of course, because the generator provides electricity. Or do you think, that you could run on battery power forever. You can not start the engine without battery.
scooters have rectifier maaaan,so curent from alternator goes trough rectifier,then from rectifier in to electric system vhich is DC in every scooter,so CDI Must be Dc in every scooter...

Have you ever seen a cdi cause excessive advance timing where it pings an engine when cranking?
Fast forward to 2020...They are all half that price. My scooter is brand new 2020 BMS Prestige 150 and it has a DC CDI.
all the 6 pin cdi on the table are all either AC and DC cdi, the power source makes them

I pulled a wire out on mine it still seams like it has a rev limiter but it goes a little faster especially down hill

CDI box has nothing to do with air suction through the motor you better go down and take a Small Engine class or something
