I enjoy your videos. You have a beautiful homestead. I've done many of the things you do over the years here in eastern Tennessee. I'm 71 now and I just maintain our 28 acres now mainly with my old 1986 Ford tractor. Maybe in a couple years I'll get a modern tractor with a hydro tranny. Keep up the good work and enjoy.

I know this is an older video but I’m going to comment anyway. When it’s hot outside I do my mowing at night when it’s cooler. I find it relaxing and soothing to mow under the stars. The secret is good LED lights placed strategically on the mower that not only lights up in front of you but the sides as well. I also have lights aimed so I can see the sides of my mower deck when mowing around obstacles. I like you have a sizable yard at 3 1/2 acres so mowing takes a couple hours of my time. I’ve never commented on any of your videos before but I enjoy your content, hope y’all are doing great keep up the great work.

First thing I noticed being "obsessive/compulsive" about firewood myself, I thought Wow, this person has incredible neat, perfectly stacked wood piles, hahahahaha, I loved the video, great looking yard, that's me to a tee, used to be. I call it "Passionate" about firewood, in mass quantity's. I,m a "Sicko/ Wacko comes to fire wood. hahahahaha and well i,m in agriculture too, Wagon loads of grain being off loaded filling trailer loads full. I spend enormous amount of time figuring, calculating, Plotting my fields to grow, yield more than last year, its fun and rewarding. god bless Warren

I was really admiring how well your wood was stacked, because mine falls over lol. Then I seen your mess and I could have cried for ya cause I can tell by the way yours looks you spend a lot of time making every stick perfect.

Dang: That is one impressive firewood stack. OCD is a heck of a thing. I have been cutting our firewood for decades but can't bring myself to do a nice stacking job like that. Most of my firewood logs are mishap end and when split don't stack well to begin with. Keep up the good work.

New sub - your videos are awesome brother. We've got our butts parked just southwest of St. Louis Missouri. Funny about the heat - I was born in South Dakota and lived a number of years in Calgary Alberta and Winnipeg Manitoba - when the family moved here, I thought we'd moved to hell, lol, but.... you acclimate. But, if it's unusual to see 90 degrees you'll just have to grin and bare it - just like most things in life - play the hand God dealt ya.

I was from South Carolina and grew up in the 100F to 115F weather with no A/C when I was a kid. It kind of wears out.
Now I live in Chile! It is winter here now with the highs in 40F lows 32F. Summers are 85 in the day and 50F on the same days evening.
Man you stack like a Chilean! Chileans do all their stacking to the "'T''. Everything here is split by hand for the most part. i think that i am the exception with my custom wood splitter. Very nice work.
We have professional wood cutters here for fire wood and they use Oxen and carts. Also you see almost NO lawn mowers here. Even the highways are cut with weed eaters.
They just do it different. Stihl is pretty much king here. You see almost No husk varna here at all. I did not want to bang my head against a wall so I went with the Stihl as well and I had them in the USA before I left as well.
    Thanks. Jim

Was up roofing a freshly rebuilt shed yesterday @ 92°. Quit that, maybe this evening I'll get back to it is 95° now. We live on 2.3 acres about 45ish miles NE of the edge of Denver. Been here about two years. Will be starting a 35' X 70' steel frame shop this summer, for 'cottage industry'. I retired in Jan, 30 yrs at a local Sheriff's Office as an 'Electronics Geek'. I was born & raised on a farm/ranch in South Dakota. Still have a major interest in that place, I like the weather, availability of markets and the politics much better here.

Here in Georgia the trick is to pace yourself, stay hydrated and thank God for every breath of breeze. If you don't have to pee you're probably not drinking enough water. It's kinda like a southerner experiencing a northern winter. There are different challenges, but one gets acclimatized in an amazingly short time if the will is there.

How do Southerner's deal with the heat? Wear shorts, drink a ton of water, get a frog tog chilly pad etc.
And get a different hat. One with a brim that is also vented for your noggin.

Lol, I chuckled at the scorching 85 degrees...you get used it I guess. Georgia born and raised and it's just another day but come winter when it's 0 degrees up there, I'll be the one saying "I don't know how you do it"! Good vid man, I'll have to double check the model of Husky weed eater I have but it's been a dang good one too. I bet it's the one like yours because it's a straight shaft and I've had it for about 10 years also and never had hint of problems yet (knock on wood). I don't know how you guys pull off the fireworks show, we usually do a big 4th cookout and I had to cancel this year as it was just becoming too much work and I found myself dreading the holiday instead of enjoying it.

      @OutdoorsWithTheMorgans  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Funny you say that. Every year about this time we are like "never again! this is the last year" but we end up doing it again the next year. We do have people help with many things but some stuff you just have to do yourself.

Yes I’m OCD about the tidiness of the wood pile. I will not let my husband pile. It drives me crazy how he does it. I have to admit I did have part of a pile fall this year. First time ever. I piled that pile when I was very upset and went nonstop until the two cord was done. I’m over 50 and got tired and sloppy . I won’t do that again. Oh my pride lol!

Great videos sir, I'm always busy cutting, splitting, stacking wood, trimming, mowing, planting, weeding, picking up bark and sticks etc etc. It keeps you fit thats for sure! LoL. I just had a thought watching this video, if you had a ready source of pallets, why not put some forks on your tractor and neatly stack your spit wood straight on a pallet next the the splitter, pick up the completed stack pallet and all and place it along your wood pile line. That saves the extra step of of filling the bucket on the tractor and then stacking again on those wood rails. It would also be more stab,e and not fall over due to the wider footprint on the pallet. 🍻👍🏽

In central Alabama the sun drills into you. At some age I got smart and got a hat made for it. Best I ever had was an open weave pith style(Brookstone), the air seemed to dance all over your head as you walked. Second best is my Columbia vented booney. Getting one of those cooling(?) neck gaiters. If it doesn't cool at least it'll keep the sun and string trimmer bits off my neck. Pop it over my nose when I get into dust. People drink iced tea here. Had a friend from France that had been all over the world was disgusted with it. Said all the world drinks hot tea. Africa? Yep. Well I don't get it, you can toss the ice but why hot in heat? Nothing like a cold glass of fresh tea.

I was expecting a snake was the "trouble at the woodpile", and come to find out that it was just poor wood ranking. LOL. Keep the videos coming, I'm looking forward to your 4th of July video. I hope you'll set enough fireworks off, that we'll be able to see them over here in central PA

I still can't get used to snakes, not a fan at all. I mean if you see one 30 feet away no big deal but every time I see one it's right at your feet when I see it. Not good lol

    Another good video Mike.
    Question,
Could you have safely used your Kubota and Brush Hog to cut the grass on the bank next to your wood pile?
    BTW,
Nice looking Shepherd. Reminds me of my last working K9.

Definitely not sideways, I could probably back up there no problem but not enough room on the low side to get lined up with the slope. If that makes sense. That Shepard is a friends we were watching. He's a good dog and gets along great with our Goldens, Our cat is a different story lol

I am loving your videos. I live in North Pole Alaska and it gets that hot here in the summer. Wait until winter and you can watch my channel for the cold videos.

Hello from Louisiana. I understand about the hot thing, it's just the way it is down here. I enjoy watching the videos. I live here in southern Louisiana and it seems like we do very similar things with our spare time. I am in the process of splitting firewood now for myself and am thinking about doing a few extra chords to sell while I am at it. What kind of work do? I also do a lot of hunting here. I am not as fortunate to have hunting property attached to the property I live on but I hunt not very far away. Keep up the good work. Look forward to future videos.

The weirdo shades are kinda ok, I suppose. But it's the limitless wood piles, in the end, that'll lead the guys in white coats to take a professional interest in this dude. We've all been there

Well Mike, I'm not rural, I'm actually kinda lazy, I live in a near west suburb of Chicago (Stickney- I55 & north on Harlem Ave a few blocks and east a few blocks), but I have ALWAYS wanted to live your life, so your channel is therapeutic to me, in that I get to live my life vicariously through you & your family, since my ex-wife was barren. Our first child was stillborn with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck 2X. Then we were having trouble conceiving after that, and found out when we went to a fertility clinic, that she had P.C.O.S, (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and Fallopian tubes was blocked 90% on one side, and 70% on the other. They tested me and I had 5X the minimum "🚀" required to get my wife pregnant? We then attempted I.V.F., went through the process 2X with both failing for pregnancy. They told us to go back on the Lupron injections which suppresses the woman's reproductive system. We complied. In the meantime, unbeknownst to us, OR the fertility clinic, we got pregnant on our own. We kept going back to the clinic, they checked her hormones and said they were "elevated" the first week, so they told us to go back home and continue the Lupron injections. We complied. The 2nd week at the clinic, they said her hormone level was "through the roof" and instructed us to go back home and DOUBLE the Lupron injections. FOOLISHLY, we complied. When we went back the 3rd week they said her hormone levels had "SKYROCKETED". They decided to check her abdomen with a stethoscope, then the nurse had at first a very surprised smile on her face, which QUICKLY turned to a VERY disturbed look. We asked, what the issue was. She said somewhat sheepishly, "Good news, you have twins, there are two heartbeats in there. When they did the ultrasound they found that there was only ONE sack, which meant we had IDENTICAL TWINS. The nurses attending us, rushed out, consulted the sheister doctor Gleicher, about what to do. They came back and told us to DISCONTINUE the Lupron injections immediately. TOO LATE! When we went back the next week and they checked her with the stethoscope and ultrasound, there were no more heartbeats. This clinic KILLED OUR TWINS. I am now a childless divorcee living all alone, sooooo, you have NO IDEA HOW MUCH YOUR CHANNEL MEANS TO ME. IT HAS LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE!
