The ultimate cosplayer fit works because literally every top tier cosplayer is so great at dressing up for costumes but when you see them in regular clothes it's like they don't know how to dress themselves at all

literally. us cosplayers spend all our money on cosplay and have barely anything left for pretty normal clothes
I think it's pretty cute, you know? Like I know she's plain and that's the bit, but she's got a bit of a mature vibe to her without feeling too serious. You've got the nice little coat, a sensibly long skirt, some cute glasses... like she's kind-of selling that 'responsible but a fuck-up' vibe, you know?
Actually Kirumi's outfit does have meaning. I think it's a reference to a story about someone who could have left hell on a single strand of a spider web, but they fucked something up and they fell back down. That's also her execution
It makes sense for the execution because of her backstory. But not for the fit, i think it's just meant to be there for the goth maid factor. The string theme of her excecution is representing the story AND her outfit.
It's definitely foreshadowing for execution. Could also be because she cleans cobwebs, but probably both.
Also the thing they fucked up in the story is that while the person was climbing out of hell, other people started to climb behind them on the same strand.
The person climbing out of hell, scared that the strand would snap due to the additional weight, started kicking and thrashing the other people off as well, causing the strand to snap because of their own actions.
Had they just kept climbing, they would've gotten out. However, they got scared and started to ruin other people's chances for their own sake, causing the string to snap because they didn't deserve to get out of hell.
@@sleepybeef2412 yeah that's what i meant, the whole cobweb thing was meant to just be her execution with her outfit just foreshadowing that, so i wouldnt exactly say the myth(epic? Legend? Whatever you call it) inspired the outfit.
Also, i think if they added all the people climbing up after kirumi then i think it wouldve been too much, there's already a lot happening in her excecution. And i think the representation of the myth is fine as is.

I second doing the anniversary fits. You could also do the fits for the anime exclusive character and the Ultra Despair Girl characters. And if you really want to push it you can look on the cover of the novel Zero and rank those two.

I would like to add more context for Tsumugi and her average outfit for a cosplayer. She doesn't cosplay a lot herself, she enjoys making cosplay outfits for others more, although when she does cosplay she absolutely commits to the role... anyway, she takes cosplaying a bit too seriously to go out wearing random extreme stuff when she isn't cosplaying, so she is designed to look more like a tailor, I guess? and story-wise, she's supposed to be a plain, kinda boring and forgettable character, as a viewer you're expected to not think about her too much, it serves the narrative
I feel like if they wanted her to look plain, she wouldn't have blue hair. I know it's anime, but still.
@PTp1ranha I think the blue hair works for her because the other characters' hair look more interesting compared to her. Dark blue hair still looks bland compared to the others, at least in my opinion; she doesn't even have hair accessories

I don’t think they’re tan because of genetics but environment (Akane lived poor and worked for her siblings) or talent (Sakura)

I knew Christian wouldn't like Kokichi's restraint jacket outfit, but I am surprised he didn't like Miu's. Happy, but surprised. Also, you guys COULD rate all of their swimsuits, I also cannot recall if you rated all their anniversary outfits or not yet, where they are all in dresses or tuxes, but if you haven't, then you could do that too.

I like how you guys noticed the little details and said "I don't get it, but it works." Lol. Guess that just proves how well designed V3's cast was. They probably had the best character designs out of all the games tbh.
12:19 okay! So huge thing is that all these characters are Japanese- and blackface literally doesn’t exist in Japan. ((Though there are crude and mean caricatures, this sprite is not black face)) this is actually a pretty common anime trope meant to obscure and hide the face to make them look more evil or sinister. It has nothing to due with the color of skin but more akin to darkness and shadows. This is supposed to show that he is radiating evil basically

I want to recommend Limbus Company for you guys to rate the character's fits,which would be really interesting considering there are alternative versions of them in the game so 1 character has like 6 or 7 different fits,plus the game is good.
all of their uniforms (of the main goobers) are different in some way whilst being "up to code", and they display their personalities well even through uniformed clothing

i think you guys are wrong about cosplay thing. you are on point about description but imo that is the whole point of cosplayer. when cosplayer is being themselves they are bland, boring, lack of presense etc... they are ultimate cosplayer cause their talent is becoming someone else, cosplaying someone cool and popular, they are not nessecarily cool and popular themselves and i think her outfit portrays that perfectly.

I REALLY want to see you guys rate fits from a game called the world ends with you. It might not be the most well known game but it is very fashion and trend-centric and the characters have very distinct looks. They even have their own brands in the game wich have very unique identities and one of the main characters makes and designs clothes. Please give it a quick google seach to see if you think the fits would be interesting to rate.

You know what? If they haven't done it yet, they should do one of these for Persona characters. Because I'm thinking back, and 3 is pretty straightforward (for the most part), but you get some interesting stuff thrown in. And then 4 and 5 just go wild with it! 4 has so many good alternate outfits that it's kind-of nutty, and everyone in 5 has a whole 'secret thief' thing going on that really makes things interesting.
