During the GPU crash I managed to buy one for $200 to hold me over and I was shocked how well it did. The vram and bus width really helps it with modern games and texture packs. Mine was also a overclocking beast. Once the GPU crash was over and 40 series was announced I found a 3090 strix oc for $700 in perfect condition so I use that now but put the Titan X into an overpowered windows Xp/ win 7 dual boot x79 HEDT build
I got a sli setup, with fx8350 does great.I cant get above 1080p on high setting, but always at 60fps and Elden ring and days gone do not utilize second card that much,But RDR2 and earlier games fully utilized.I bought a ryzen 7 mobo and 3060 to compare, and will throw my old hardrive windows 7 in the sli setup.Plays great in sli
THIS. Can't believe Proceu didn't mention this. This card is for natively driving CRTs and/or Windows XP machines and is the most powerful card you can possibly get for those two purposes. It will absolutely slay every other card competing in those two areas. Getting this card for anything other than that though is going to be disappointing. The Titan X is definitely best treated as a beast-mode legacy card that can also handle some modern duties.
I still got this card in my PC. An overclocked model. Cleaned it, replaced the thermal paste. Still going strong in 1440p. Absolutely loved it when I bought it, still do. The 12 GB VRAM buffer remained unchallenged for quite a while. And it seems strange that many cards still don't have it. I had the original GTX Titan before it, gave it to my brother. Kind of wish I waited for the Pascal version a bit at the time. Was impatient. But all 3 are great cards.
Maxwell was pretty special back then. (Had the GTX 970) I usually stayed away from the blower style cards because of that heat limiting performance factor. Thanks for the excellent review Proceu Tech. I really enjoyed the informative video. I now have a good idea how the Titan X was and is today. Son's of the Forest looks interesting. Peace!
Been running this card since I bought it in 2015, every year I say "I'm going to upgrade and build a new top-end PC" and every year I decide it's still keeping me going :) Gaming aside, if anything, it's the issues I'm getting with Photoshop not supporting such an old card that will finally push me to upgrade...
Bought a nother 1070 sc cheap now I have both titans and 1070s sli clock is faster on 1070 but Maxwell can handle way more textures when changing resolution scaling.
As a user of this card (a 1st party nvidia maxwell) I'm actually surprised you had to go to such extremes to get it to perform as it is. I use the blower and only ever top around 75-80c at 1403mhz core/7950mhz mem. You may have gotten a lower binned chip in yours with a lower ASIC% perhaps.
yeh I have them in sli and a pc with 1070s sli. The clock speed is 2025 on the 1070s but the memory is only 4400mhz 8g compared to the 7950mhz and 1500mhz clock on the titans. They preform the same untill you need the memory or vram.
People who say stuff like can't future proof are lying or ignorant, monsters like 1080-ti destroy 1080p 2080-2070/3070/3080/4060-4080 also destroys 1080 and runs 1440 great these cards were meant to last for years it's multiple vids showing they run games great using high settings which is the setting people should all be using since max has been dead for like 8 years it's multiple vids showing it's not a big difference from max I just upgraded to a Monster 3080 2 years ago from a GTX 1080 I had since the month it came out I was getting great fps using 1440 high in every game I only upgraded cause I needed the newer tech for upscaling
@@ProceuTech I mean my titan x runs 30% oc, when was the last time a gfx card or a CPU got anymore than 5% oc? My old e5 1680v2 was running around a 50% OC
bought this one recently for like 120e, stock cooling not so good (85´C), with a bit tweak on fan-curve temp are quite better (74´C) but hearing quite hissing of fan :))
Ive had this card since like 2015 and its still going strong, the watercooler died so i went back to air cooling and its back in action. I just now upgraded to a 4k TV so i may finally need to upgrade to be able to play at 4k, but it can handle 1080p no problem on new games.
You have to use cooler master cryo fuze purple box put a generous amount and the GPU will stay under thermal throttling temps I'm talking serious low temps at idle is high power CPU is at 20c -30c
two geforce gtx titan Z graphics cards connected with an SLI cable to one geforce gtx titan X maxwell200 windows 8.0 enterprise 64 bit monitor samsung 226BW
Thinking of getting this for my CRT setup. Would be nice to run this on the analog dvi-i without a converter but I don't know if it's worth the effort. I'd also likely want to switch out the cooler and maybe do some extra modding on it but I'd need an expert to help me out.
As a user of this card ( can play any games with decent quality, but when I buy Hogwarts Legacy I can’t even play it ! And the game turn off it self ) so I don’t know should I upgrade my gpu or keep it?
I had a Maxwell previously (GTX970) and i wouldn't keep them. One of the reasons is the Vulkan driver regression which affected i think Yuzu, Switch emulator. The regression affected Pascal and Maxwell and on Pascal it was fixed within a handful months, which is not great and is already a sign of neglect; but on Maxwell one and a half years later the regression is still there, emulator crashes. FSR2 upscaling is functional but degraded on Maxwell compared to newer GPUs, and there are performance bugs abound, especially in conjunction with DX12 Compute, as seen in performance of Cyberpunk. Maxwell is dying.
Dude why are you on 4800 on the CPU that's crazy high dude what heck you already at 59 60 c that high dude your bottle necking the true performance of the Titan benchmark this on a x79 platform with a 4930k youll see a big difference

It's also the latest and greatest card that will properly output to VGA like for CRT monitors. (and has windows xp drivers with a little tinkering)

Yes, it is the best GPU ever... and my main PC is still Windows XP based with dual monitor setup: one 15 CRT and Asus 16" OLED.
