This worked perfectly for me! Got all 3 things 😃 I drained the pool first, then I targeted the left arm until it was destroyed and I could no longer target it, then I just attacked his right arm until he died (I didn't even get the right arm's health halfway down). Thank you for the tips!
Also should mention. Just destroy the sheild on the drone and severe nothing else. Including his right arm thats holding his weapon(left side from POV). Just go to town with it. I tried your method but served that arm (big mistake) and only got the Red Hot Poker.
I received the Ungula Universalis only when I didn't sever the legs around his body.When I severed all the legs, I didn't get the Ungula. In this video, I don't sever any of the legs. I don't know if you can sever some - but not all - of the legs and get the Ungula.
@Robert MacDougall I am confused about whether I have to cut off "both arms" before I kill him or "something else". I read online about cutting off his "legs" but I only see two arms! Since I basically have only one chance at this I wanted to ask you about this. (It is bad enough that I am scrambling and failing so far, lol!)
Cain has two arms and six legs. The right arm (on your left when facing him) holds the Poker. The left arm launches the parabolic drone. Both arms hang off his triangular torso/heard. If you target his core, you can rotate targeting to one of the 6 legs hanging off his middle (the ball he rolls around on). You can disable the drone by attacking his left arm. In my video, I completely disable his left arm after multiple attempts. On multiple tries I never succeeded in disabling or cutting off Cain's right arm. You can wear down his health bar attacking his right arm however, all the way to his death. The six legs are attached to the ball. You can sever them individually. They will then crawl after you and attack until destroyed. When I severed and destroyed all his legs, I did not receive the Ungula Universalis. When I did not sever any legs, I received the Ungula. You can also perform an execute on his ball once all the legs are severed. While cool, it didn't produce any new rewards that I recall. Hope that helps!

@@peterfox6159 Like all the bosses, he has patterns he follows based on certain conditions - like how close you are. Look for those patterns and respond with your own. I got pretty good at using my shock drone on Cain when he comes spinning at you and that knocks him down for a moment, for example.
At the 2:45 min mark, I destroy the left arm with the drone and I received the drone as a reward. I thought it was only necessary to break the armour / red shield but it may be necessary to destroy the arm.
It could be. Although, I seen some folks saying they got the Shield after Breaking the Left arm and then breaking off some of the legs before killing the boss. Also, I was playing the PS4 version at the time -- so it could have glitched out and only allowed me to collect two boss weapons at a time.

I did this boss a few times to see what would happen. All three weapons requires you break his left arm (the one with the drone on your right) and then don't sever his other arm, his ball or all of his legs. They may have patched him since I ran this in January.
You can get the Backyard Key from Norm in the "Breaking the Norm" side-quest. You need to get the Strange Memory Chip from the R&D room below CAIN's original location.
hardest part of this crap fight was not to damage the other parts (PC with a controller and im bad with a controller.. 4 times i broke the legs.. jsss)

I just beat the kraken dlc. On new game plus it was really fun and I like the ending

beating cain with maxed upgrade weapons suck. cause life meter drains real fast but the armor doesn't break...
You need high-impact weapons and armor arms that improve it (plus a helmet that helps aim and do more damage to armor)

For some reason I didn't get the drone even after I broke his shield/emp.
