Oaxacan coast is top of our list! We will visit a few of the other places mentioned, but I don't know if we'd live there. Got a lot to explore to figure that out though.
I just got my temp residency in Ensenada last week! They really do try to help you out but we had to hire someone to help us too and still ended up needing to redo paperwork multiple times. Glad it’s done though!

excellent news! since entire Baja peninsula is "border zone," where US registered vehicles didn't need to be imported, do you now need to do with your RV with your temporary status? or, can that now wait until you've got PR status in 2 years?
@@EatSeeRV It took me like 3 visits, but at that time there was no getting there at 3am needed. I would show up at 9am and I'd be done in under an hour. When I renewed my residency I hired a lawyer. Much easier.

I hope you can forgive a boring question, did check your resources page on your website first. What do you do for internet in Baja? Our universal experience in the US is that park wifi is next to useless. Verizon hotspot from phone or MIFI was pretty incredible for work from van for 1.5 months this winter even from small towns, Springdale, UT, Park City, UT, Sedona, AZ, Casa Grande AZ. But we were too busy having fun for a week in Baja to remember to test signal for work purposes.

But, if it’s available in your time to reply, for the temp residency and traveling by RV - did your temporary residency require you to claim and address of residence in Mexico? I know there isn’t an amount of time one has to be in MX to qualify, but it is expected to share with Mexico immigration dept when /if you change addresses. But as you both are traveling by RV and not at a set address, it made me wonder what to do in such case? Many thanks for the content and consideration of this question.

So with a temp resident card can you get a TIP for the van? we have a permanent Resident card and it is not allowed for us to get a TIP. We have to import our rig and register it in Mexico.
I managed to get my permanent residency. It was a struggle with the wait times for the consulate more than anything else. Easier being retired so I can appreciate the effort you put in getting your temporary residency. Congratulations!

That’s what I did and I got 4 years temp on my card since I took advantage of the regularización program! 🎊 🇲🇽 Another advantage is that you can enrolll into the national medical coverage system (IMSS): you can also get discounts at many national sites , museos, archeological ruins, etc... including free sundays 🤔🤗💰🇲🇽

Depends on what you're wanting to do. We love San Cristobal de Las Casas for it's colors, culture, affordability, and weather. We also love CDMX, Puebla, and some smaller towns throughout
I don't get it. For us new and ignorant subscribers (thats me and my personal admission) do you favor Mexico for the costs of living to save money as self-employed, remote workers? Look, I am intrigued and that is why I am a subscriber, but I have a ton of concerns, especially safety, and I am here to live vicariously through you to put some of that at ease. The freedom of living tiny I get where home is everywhere you park with new views all the time. You can have that in the USA as well so is the bigger draw being able to maintain this lifestyle on a lot less money? Thans for indulging me.
There's a lot of reasons! Cost of living is part of it, but it's also quality of life. People in Mexico value different things, many of which we agree with (family, time with loved ones, laughing/celebrating life, and being connected to the earth - farming, gardening, etc). Life moves slower here and there is so much diversity to enjoy (in food, culture, history, etc). We can attempt to live a life like this in the USA but the greater culture of our country doesn't necessarily align with that. We can also make our dollar go a lot further here as we do it, which is a major help.

Yikes, hope it all works out okay! It can be a confusing process but we like peace of mind knowing they can't kick us out of the country if things hit the fan haha.
excuse me? this is one of the smartest moves anyone could possibly make. this is only a temporary residence meaning they can live in either Mexico or the US as they wish for the next year. if they proceed with the next steps they can then be temp residents for 3 more years and then after that can convert their status to permanent residents. the US is on the verge of collapse with crime and prices spiralling out of control. only fools would stay there. and why people from central America continue to enter the US is a mystery to me. smart people are heading in the opposite direction.

PR status will change the TIP process for us. For now we're good to go with the normal TIP on mainland.

We stayed at Ramona. Its location was awesome. 15 minutes from the center of town. Next door to the brewery and a 2 minute drive from another.

Starlink is a lifesaver here since it's so remote. Even cell connection with Telcel (Mexico's largest provider) doesn't work most places.

We can attempt to live a life like this in the USA but the greater culture of our country doesn't necessarily align with that. We can also make our dollar go a lot further here as we do it, which is a major help.

excuse me? this is one of the smartest moves anyone could possibly make. this is only a temporary residence meaning they can live in either Mexico or the US as they wish for the next year. if they proceed with the next steps they can then be temp residents for 3 more years and then after that can convert their status to permanent residents. the US is on the verge of collapse with crime and prices spiralling out of control. only fools would stay there. and why people from central America continue to enter the US is a mystery to me. smart people are heading in the opposite direction.
