Hello from Japan, I've just get DJI SPARK yesterday and fortunately find your video. I think this is the video that every SPARK owner should see first. Thanks millions.
I set one of the programmable keys to AE Lock.. I take the drone up face it away from the sun, point the camera down so that no sky is exposed and then press the key to lock the AE.. This will stop your video from getting too light or too dark within the same shoot, worse case is that you may blow out the sky on occasion, but that is ok because the ground will still be ok and not too dark..
Hello Billy, thanks a lot for sharing this. As you have both the Mavic and the Spark, if you had to carry out a drone with you, full time in a backpack for travelling (a loooong trip, like months, backpacking) , considering the weight and video quality, wich one would you take ?
Thanks for the video Billy, this is what I was trying to ask the whole time the other night. I couldnt get anyone to answer me back. So I finally figured it out and then found this for some of the settings. Seeya
Hey Billy great job.. question in the " REMOTE CONTROLLER SETTINGS " SCREEN.. Where it says MAX FLIGHT SPEED CONTROL SETTINGS....? Is that where you adjust how fast you want your spark to climb out? and descending speed? cause mine was set in the middle, and when it returned to home from about 150 feet up.... it took a long time to lose altitude. tks. in advance. Joey
You're wrong about the RTH at Current Altitude Setting! Here is what the user manual has to say about this: "a. The aircraft will ascend to the pre-set RTH attitude and then fly to the Home Point when the aircraft is further than 20 m from the home point. b. When the aircraft is between 3 m and 20 m from the Home Point, it will return to the Home Point at the current altitude with the RTH at Current Altitude option enabled (the default setting in DJI GO 4) if flying at or above 2.5 m. It will ascend to 2.5 m then return to home if flying lower than 2.5 m. Note: If RTH at Current Altitude is disabled in DJI GO 4, the aircraft will land automatically when the aircraft is between 3 m and 20 m from the Home Point. c. The aircraft will land automatically if RTH is triggered and the aircraft is less than 3 m from the home point. " To sum this up your Spark will only RTH at current altitude when it's within 20m distance. If RTH at current altitude is disabled it will land on the spot, which could be 19m away from you, with downward obstacle aviodace disabled, which could result in a crash... This is why I would recommend enabling RTH at Current Altitude, and of course always fly with care so that you can cancle the RTH when it is necessary ;)
Wait a minute, why dont enable max distance? I turn it on and set it to 5000. I assumed that without "max distance enabled" the spark would be actually limited.
Hey Billy, I’been flying my Spark on and off for a couple years mainly to take progress photos of various projects and always get nice photos on my IPad. Recently I fly and snap pictures, land, shut down the Spark, but the photos no longer appear up in my photo section. I discovered the only place I can see them is if I land, leave the bird turned on and connected to the remote. What have I changed to cause this?
Good vid, although the title is a bit misleading as unfortunately there aren't that many settings to tweak or choose from for the Spark. Maybe a "settings walkthrough" or a "settings guide" would have been more appropriate. Anyway, keep up the good work Billy :)
Hello Billy! Thanks for a review! I'd strongly appreciate if you'd giive advices bout video settings, besides sunny and cloudy mode. There're not many of em , and it's sucks that there's no fps options. But anyway - shutter speed , using filters, white balance , ISO settings for noobs is something cool to see about :) And what name of the song at the end (Sounds like Ghost town)
Thank you for this video...my Spark is driving me nuts. It just seems to have so many issues right now. The video streaming is so inconsistent for me but hopefully its just me and not the spark lol. Thanks again!
Hey Billy, no I live in Lebanon and all my friends are the same situation, no 5.8gh in RC, I have tried the dji go4 app hacked and I have turning the Rc to FCC mode but not a very good result, and I have uninstalling it to return legal and factory reset the aircraft and RC. Anyway thanks for your reply and have a great day.
mario ah hi. I am using NLD on my spark. Using .0600 firmware. Full fcc mode 1.5watts on 5.8g. I could only select 5.8g with nld app 4.1.3. The later version would only select 2.4. I use 2.4 to connect my phone to controller and 5.8 aircraft to controller. Getting less lag than otg. Range wise i hit 5km before i ran out of battery so had come home. If you need help message me and i will walk you through.
I have an important question, when I use my active track mode & highlight myself & then it keeps saying aircraft too low... that could mean anything, too low to the ground? low battery? wifi? whats going on? I even raise the drone higher up over 10 feet above me & it still says aircraft too low
The problem is, I do not get any settings under the video settings tab. I only see a rectangular blue box. The photo camera settings are OK. It is just under the video settings that I have this problem. I cannot transfer, or edit video from the card in the Spark. It starts downloading, but I get an error message. Can you please help ? All the upgrades are done, firmware is up to date.
Reformat your SD card (will lose all data), or, get a new card and make certain that it's brand-name and the right specs. Check DJI for recommendations.
Maxwell Grundy, in my experience I first connect the RC to my iPhone via wifi. Then connect the Drone. Once everything is working fine, I plug the OTG cable. You should get a device not supported message. I click ok then I put my phone in airplane mode. This works most of the time. On a few occasions, I have to disconnect the OTG and reconnect. Hope this helps.
Yash Agarwal so what’s an otg adapter for? I juts saw some video that someone was having trouble with there live feed glitching.. so they brought a cord and plugged the phone into the remote and it seemed to fix it, so not sure if I need to buy the otg adapter or not?
Lol 150m altitude might do the trick! But your breaking the law and safety I would not recommend going past 120m I have mine set to 110m which is more then enough, apart from that bad advice on the altitude, good video👍

Im so amazed how you edit your video together. What application did you used?

Wow, you actually took the time to type all of that. You think he actually read it? Probably not. Just saying...
copy & paste ;) and you read it, soooo...

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I like your suggestions for the custom buttons.

Can you tell me how you do with the operation
on the handydisplay in the video without
filming your fingers??, please.
Thank you, I changed a few of my settings to match yours, great video.
What editing software do you use or recommended for PC users?
Great video helped me out a lot =)

Anyway, keep up the good work Billy :)

Hi! How can I ajust the rotation settings for the dji spark? I don’t like the tripod mode, and I can’t find the exp settings. I don’t understand:(
Hey Billy where can I adjust the record resolution?
Thank you for this video...my Spark is driving me nuts. It just seems to have so many issues right now. The video streaming is so inconsistent for me but hopefully its just me and not the spark lol. Thanks again!
You can try changing channels in the 2.4ghz
Or, try switching to 5.8 if your phone/tablet supports 5.8
When the OTG cable is connected does the DJI APP automatically appear on the phone when everything is turned on?

Your phone/tablet must support 5.8
Not all do.

Thanks learned a few things G!!!
Thanks Billy! Great video! Just ordered mine and can't wait to get it! I'll refer to this video once I do!

Plz give your dji spark drone to me
I don't see the circle in the bottom left that shows direction also I don't see a map?
That was sooo good!
Please show stick sensitivity adjustment using android phone.
I have an important question, when I use my active track mode & highlight myself & then it keeps saying aircraft too low... that could mean anything, too low to the ground? low battery? wifi? whats going on? I even raise the drone higher up over 10 feet above me & it still says aircraft too low
Too low to the ground as I found this out
On the Geo zone, Can you fly if your area is cover with green or yellow?
@@Ninjandre4
Huh, good to know.
Excellent video and just what I was looking for to setup the app, Thanks! Now make your bed.🤣🤣🤣
Great Video! I was watching it when FedEx delivered mine ;o) Thumbs Up and Subed...
Does the Spark need to powered up and connected to the phone before you change camera settings?
Yea
The problem is, I do not get any settings under the video settings tab. I only see a rectangular blue box.
The photo camera settings are OK. It is just under the video settings that I have this problem.
I cannot transfer, or edit video from the card in the Spark.

Can the Spark be controlled with DJI GO 4 on the Phantom 4 Pro controller?
Russell Schundler no my friend you need the DJI spark controller
If i use cord on my spark control do I need wfi

Hi Billy. Why I don't have a 5.8gh in my spark? Only I have 2.4gh. Mabe I am in area who the law forbidden the 5.8gh
?
Your phone/tablet may not support 5.8 ghz wi-fi.
I dont have the Wifi settings, I have HD settings instead.. Whats the difference??
Thanks :)
Obstacle avoidance speed is 8mph. Turn it off, 20mph +
what app should i download?
DJI Go 4
Thanks
Im looking for a way to adjust the screen brigthness in DJI Go for the spark....is there?
You’ll have to do that through your system settings.
You mean thru my mobile?
Yes
Is the live streaming only available in iPhone/Pad?
No, it also works on Android.
Matt Rollins use a wired connection with the remote for live streaming.
Yash Agarwal with the cord connection. Does the cord come with the remote or do you have to buy a cord separate?
Holdsworth Productions it comes with a micro USB cable. You can buy an otg adapter for like 2 bucks.
Yash Agarwal so what’s an otg adapter for? I juts saw some video that someone was having trouble with there live feed glitching.. so they brought a cord and plugged the phone into the remote and it seemed to fix it, so not sure if I need to buy the otg adapter or not?
Everyone jumps to the app without any information about downloading the app.
Nice
why is it necessary to see your face when you speak (without pauses) Who is the protagonist? you or the application?
Who cares????
Lol 150m altitude might do the trick! But your breaking the law and safety I would not recommend going past 120m I have mine set to 110m which is more then enough, apart from that bad advice on the altitude, good video👍
There are no "BEST" settings.
They are what I consider the best as they are settings I use, and have been using, on all of my drones since I started flying.
And in post production : )
Billy Kyle hi, I can't find the gimbal sensibility in my Android app. Is it iOS only or got it taken off the app for the spark?
They are the "best" for him and general usage.
OPPS !!
