I recently found this band, and i absolutely love, love, love them. I wish i heard them before; there absolutely amazing. Just puts you in a state of clearing your mind.
For me this song speaks volumes and I get the feeling that the message speaks to itself like looking in a mirror. If you cannot love yourself then how can anyone love you! This was the first time that I have heard anything from Of Monsters and Men...I Love their sound and the raw music added to the raw voice sounds fantastic, makes for easy listening and I love Of Monsters and Men already!
''And these fingertips, will never run through your skin And those bright blue eyes can only meet mine across a room Filled with people that are less important than you.''
Both versions of this song are so beautiful. The album version feels like a heartache poured into a confessional, the slow nature of the album version is so powerful for this narative. Gives the listener the impression that the love is hopeless to attain almost. In comparison this version seems happier? almost. Still pretty emotional, but the gutair in this feels optomistic! Regardless would love a small official release with both versions available. Its been years since I've discovered this wonderful band, and i still always find myself coming to this video for this version after listening to My Head is Animal in full.
This was the soundtrack of my first love, so deep, but external reasons forced us to end it. "Before we dwell on it." I cried so hard to this a few times, now it's an old ache.
I really love this song, to me the best part is the chorus because; she starts out with telling that she can't love and even then he continues to love - but then she tells that she can't love him and he still loves her. To me that is just amazing, I don't know why, but it just is. (Sorry for my english, it's not my native language)
So today I went on a quest to find new music, new bands, a new sound. The kind of music you don't typically hear on the radio. I discovered Of Monsters and Men, The Paper Kites, A Fine Frenzy, The Shins, and more. I don't think I'll ever be able to appreciate anyone like Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, etc.; ever again. I now know what true music is
I saw them in Sweden about a year and change ago, but couldn't find any of their stuff out here. I think it's great that Little Talks made it big the way it did so Of Monsters and Men have a chance to share their incredible sound and messege with those of us here in the U.S. that still understand what real music is. Indie rocks my face off.
THIS version of the song... is so amazing. Far superior to the studio-cut. Just lay down some pretty vocals, and let the raw excellence of acoustic guitar do the rest. I wish this was the version on their CD. :(
Es realmente maravilloso el trabajo que hace esta gente para deleitarnos con su música, y, como no esa voz tan dulce que escuchamos.Un saludo a tod@s.Fito.
Im so sad that you cant love love love me. Though I do love love love your music. Please keep doing what you're doing. You make me feel love, love, loved. 8)
It makes me cry that I have to decide between waiting for their music to become available in the UK or have to get it for free :,( RELEASE IN THE UK NOW!
Just sharing my opinion but I think that it's a beautiful thing to see a lot of people swaying to the same music. It's like.. you may not speak the same language, come from the same background or even have the same reason for liking it, but the song still brings us together all the same But my point is, that it would be rather lonely to be the only one who knew about this song. You wouldnt be able to relate much & you wouldnt be able to see it in so many ways. I see where you're coming from too
I remember finding this on youtube years ago (this exact video), looking for this on itunes and not finding it, and its so funny to cme back now! (although, i must say, now i hear this is a different version, this ones even more beatiful)!
Of Monsters & Men strikes you to the core when you compare the words and meanings of their songs to your own life. So remember always listen to their songs more than 20 times =)
This version makes me so much happier than the version on the album.
Baatile Mamabolo listened to this version first! I agree it's best.
Me too
Listened to this version first. Will always love it

Better than what actually ended up coming out, more sincere.
def agree
''And these fingertips, will never run through your skin

i want to cry so much.
This song will always touch my soul ❤
You are a saint. Its so nice to see not everyone is corrupt and thinks only their style of music is the right one. Much respect to you my friend!

They are soooo great. Makes me proud to be a fellow Icelander :) And Nanna is so beautiful, well the rest of the group also!
I love all the versions of this song. The older ones are very interesting.
And those bright blue eyes
Can only meet mine
Across a room filled with people who are less important than you.
this version is beautiful!
I have not appreciated generic chart music ever since I started listening to music and straight away knew what good and brilliant music is :)
of monsters and men, the lumineers, and the mumford and sons have helped me through so much!
How could I not like this song? I think I was too much obsessed with Little talks... but now I have realised this song is really great :)
One of the best songs I've heard in a long while
Absolutely! Hopefully if each of us contributes a little piece each day, our loved ones and ourselves may each enjoy a bit happier of an ending.
THIS version of the song... is so amazing. Far superior to the studio-cut. Just lay down some pretty vocals, and let the raw excellence of acoustic guitar do the rest. I wish this was the version on their CD. :(
This song lifts me up in the air and has me soaring over the mountains!
Barefoot brought me here. Such a beautiful movie.
Oh, holy God. The "Of Mice & Men" reference made this irresistable to click, and just wow. So great. SO SO SO great.
They are probably one of the fastest growing bands in the world right now.
I am so glad I have discovered Of Monsters and Men today :)
I love this song and it's even more beautiful live. I saw them last year here in Iceland - I'm so happy their getting the attention they deserve :)
