A coward punch or sucker punch is a punch made without warning while the target is distracted and/or not expecting it.
Infornt/behind is irrelevant. Hall surprised his opponent with a spinning left hook while he was watching the ball, coward punch KO and honestly surprised they let him play ever again.

Wasn’t necessarily honourable but a good sportsmanship moment.
Michael Hurley’s last game. He’d been out so long due to a severe hip infection which lead to hip replacement surgery. But had worked his ass off and managed to get back for 1 last game against Richmond at the end of 2022.
Despite the bombers being completely beaten and unable to send him off with a win. They did manage to get him a shot at goal in the last 2 minutes where he’d kick his last AFL goal.
And once all the Bombers boys had finished getting around him and celebrating.
The Richmond players also went over and congratulated him, seeing the Richmond lads go and get around him like that was just a great moment.

Chris Judd made sure Fevola had loads to drink. There is plenty of footage at nine showing Judd encouraging Fevola to keep drinking.
