    I'm telling you a strategy to beat this. Every time you attack the gates of hell, he attacks first. So if you attack it the first time. It attacks your unit and they lose half of their health.
    On your second turn, if you choose to heal and attack, the gate of hell will attack first, since your unit that was attack before with only 50% health, they will die before they heal themselves.
    So the best thing to do is to heal your unit without attack. When you do that, Gate of hell will not attack your healing unit, instead it will attack the cyclop.
    Another thing, gates of hell should deadlock cyclops first so your units will not be attack if they do not attack the gate of hell.
    In short. Let the gate of hell deadlock cyclops and choose heal without attack when your unit has half of their hp.

    the battle theme used for this boss battle was so epic

      Indeed! You know a boss is serious business when it has a different music from the regular ones!

    I was hesitant going into this boss battle tonight remembering how infuriatingly hard it was all those years ago .. playing again on android and beat him on my first attempt at BR 38 with ease... either they lowered the difficulty or my team are overpowered at the moment ! ..
    Such an awesome game and brings back so much memories !

      This game has a very steep learning curve, the difference between playing blind and knowing exactly how to build your characters is staggering and it leads to stuff like that, fights that were insanely hard before but are actually very simple once you know how to approach them!

    Got 1000/1000 in this games achievements on 360. When the remaster came out I did everything and played for 100 hours, got to the absolute conqueror and… never beat him lol still have the save file but I never beat him on remastered. Game is super hard.

      Haha, yeah, I did about the same thing. The Remaster's balance is definitely different and poses a new challenge from the original version on 360, still a ton of fun though!

    In short. Let the gate of hell deadlock the cyclops so the gate of hell will not attack your none attacking units.
    Choose heal without attack if you want to heal your units so the gate of hell will not attack your units.
    Attack gates of hell when your unit has full hp. So your unit will survive its attack. After the attack and when you units has 50% hp left, choose heal without attacking so you can heal without being attack first by GOH

    Playing through this on the switch and struggling with this battle constantly.

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's certainly one of the most challenging fights in the game, the key is really to try and keep a union attacking its flank for damage and morale boosts while others are on standby to help with healing.

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well done! The following fight is also pretty challenging in a different way, yeah, if you have spells that can hit multiple unions like Caustic Blast, it helps a lot.

      @@MrLemmy82 Good to know because I thought the game gets even harder later on. I was wondering if I should continue if I struggle so much with this boss already. Took me an entire Sunday to finally beat it. All but one union survived and I literally killed it on the last attack.

      @@MrLemmy82 The following fight is so idiotic. There's like a 20% chance of summoning cyclops upon entering the battle and the difference is night and day. I basically reload until I get to summon it.

    Yoo how is it you kill the minions soo quickly and they do so little damage to you, like they do sooo much damage to me and its take a bit longer for me to kill the minions, and how do you get those weapons. The fire ones?

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One thing that really helps is keeping your BR low by kinda "optimizing" your stat gains, which you do by fighting stronger opponents than yourself in general. One thing that really helps too is having Mystic Arts that can hit multiple enemy Unions at once, like Caustic Blast is a mid-level Invocation that does that. Some Evocations, like Eclipse or Silencer, are also good for Unions with several enemies, and all Hexes hit multiple enemies as well. Considering the focus on groups in this game, those are very useful to have.
      As for weapons, allies will regularly ask for materials, if you can provide them, they'll upgrade their weapons on their own depending on their focus (Physical, Magical, Mixed).

      @neonhaze3725 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrLemmy82 my BR rank is 23 right now so i don't know if thats exactly a bad thing for where im at in the game currently lol which is the gates of hell, but i take it that just different characters will have those arts? Cuz i have one character who duel weild axes who can use it but i haven't seen any of those other arts

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neonhaze3725 23 is very good at that point! I was at 31, myself, so you can even take some time to boost your stats further. Each character has their own sets of arts they can learn, and will sometimes ask you if they should learn a new type of art when you go on the world map depending on your BR. For example, David will ask to learn Remedies (Healing arts) at BR 34.
      David initially knows Invocations (With Spark being the first), and making him use those will let him learn new ones and eventually Caustic Blast. Loki (Recruitable at Athlum's guild) also knows Invocations and learns Hexes at BR 24. Caedmon (Recruitable at Balterossa's guild) knows Evocations and Herbs by default, and can learn Remedies at BR 27. Those are all very solid characters to have in your team for these.

      @@MrLemmy82 do you have any ideal spots for good stat farming?

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neonhaze3725 Well, if you have side quests you can still do, they're a good way to do that, try to avoid the small fry and go only for rare monsters in the process, that way you'll get stats and rewards for the quests.
      Outside of quests, I find that rare monsters give you the best boosts in general, or large groups of enemies.

    Is there a best strategy for this? i been leveling for days and cant beat this thing

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd recommend having three unions, let the Cyclops engage the Gates of Hell first and then send your three unions, this'll make one of them get a Flank Attack and allow them to deal more damage, raise your morale and not suffer retaliation. After that you can disengage with your first two unions to heal while the Cyclops keeps tanking and the flanking union should have a "Strike from the sides!" order that'll let them keep attacking from the Flank. If you have any order to "Attack from afar!" with the disengaged unions, take it.

    This soooooooo harddd

    • @MrLemmy82
      @MrLemmy82  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is definitely one of the biggest difficulty spikes in the game. You definitely want three unions so you can use Flank Attacks to deal damage safely and regain morale while others stay on standby to heal as much as possible. Once you get the perfect setup with the Cyclops tanking and a union flanking, you're pretty much good to go for the rest of the fight.

    Oh mann, i hate this boss, im in BR 52 because I do a lot of side quests, and i stuck with this for 6 hours!

      This boss is definitely a big roadblock for a lot of players.
      The key is to know when to attack and when to hang back, having the ability to resurrect fallen unions is also practically mandatory, especially to counter its Pandemonium.
      Good luck!
