I’ve had my 1964 OP Date (cal 1570) 36mm, for 40 years. And when I bought it in 1980 it wasn’t in very good condition. But it’s as good as new now, looks stunning, and keeps 1”/day. It never gets old.

Because of the virus I had nothing to do so I started buying watches online. Bought 5 silly watches. But that itch was still there. After buying the Rolex OP. I got satisfied. Sits so beautifully on the wrist. Pure perfection. Couldn't decide between black or white so I bought the black first. And hopefully next month I'll buy the white as well. And so agree with you! This is something you pass on to your kids. My advice to everyone. Save money and buy a Rolex. Never waste money on other brands.
@@sergezerkin I humbly say this Serge, I can afford any watch. But to my liking if given a choice between vacheron constantin, Royal Oak or any other expensive brand. I personally myself would still choose Rolex over any other brand. It is not a matter of expensive or cheap. Rolex makes nice watches. And they know how to market it properly and for that it deserves respect. Извините если я обидел.
Jay Ash I see what you mean, but some complications Rolex doesn’t offer - like the perpetual calendar or maybe somebody is looking for a decorated movement... or something on leather and thin ... and I love roles my self I have bought the hulk in 2018 and the date jsut 41 blue dial on jubilee smooth bezel in 2019 however when I was young I couldn’t afford such watches and I was so happy to have my magrette moana pacific .. it was a 400 dollar watch but it felt like the most expensive Panerai. I had so many fights with it ... it’s just a piece of memory now - with all the things that happened to me ... or the sarb 033 which I have ordered from japan when I was living in Russian making big cash with bitcoin...yeah Rolex will alwyss be the best watch but sometimes you wanna go the other route. Sometimes you can’t afford it and sometimes you wanna something more special like a Lange chronograph with a beautiful movement. It’s just life
@@sergezerkin I totally understand you. Everyone has a different taste. I don't like date complications and I hate the cyclops which is the trademark of Rolex which they are so proud of. To me it feels like the watch has a pimple that you can't pop!!! And in all honesty I don't even know what those three dials do in a chronograph. In my opinion, to see time... buying watches is the biggest waste of time and money :)))

And yeah I totally wish my date just 41 didn’t have a date. Not only it would look more symmetric it would look more dressy. But then for me j don’t like lume .. so I am also not very happy about the lume being applied to the hour and min hands and the hour marks .. but then it’s just me and I am sure other people are happy about it.. in life we will alwyss have to make some compromises
I have the black dial version and I wear it everyday, it suits every occasion - I actually chose it over the explorer 214270, it’s so unpretentious, the quintessential Rolex
I'm shocked they discontinued the 39. You've got yourself a gem there. I've got the black in 34 and it's been about a year and I'm still madly in love with it. I have a decent collection, Seikos new and old, a couple Hamiltons and a vintage Certina and some fun Casios. But the Rolex is really the watch in my collection that I feel is "my watch." There's something personal about it. It has sentimental and commemorative value and it's really the only watch I'd never rid myself of. Love the white dial too. Great choice and I know what you mean when you say there's something special about it. Your clasp looks just like mine.
I have your exact model. I bought it sight unseen from a dealer in an adjacent state and had it delivered. Was originally looking for a polar white shade and was disappointed at first. As time goes by, that grainy reflection really catches the eye. I do wished it had the extension link. Your watch looks well loved. Have you worn it about every day? Randy

@@fa3428 Hello. This was in June last year. They had it readily available then. Since then, the supply is not as readily available I believe the white OP39 is becoming very desirable.
I think you have a stunning watch right there. I'm waiting on mine to get delivered from my AD yet. I'd say you could get a 36mm DJ or another OP to compliment (black dial for example) and I think it would work great on your wrist.

The one Rolex I watch actually tried to buy. No luck at ADs and wasn't interested in paying gray market prices back on 2019. The price today has skyrocketed and some are selling for over $10k. No way. Gave up the hunt after 2 years.
I like rolex watches because of quality ,clean look and size and I have vintage watches between 34 to 36 and I like them all .They fit my small wrist perfectly.
If I were to buy a Rolex, this is probably the one I'd get, simple and classy. The only other one I'd consider would be a milgauss. Much more of an Omega guy personally. Rolex watches to me look a bit outdated and are super overpriced.
And I have a Rolex GMT Master II Black is my nine watch collection and it's not even my favorite. It's just one of my watches. If more people would calm down about Rolex being so special maybe more people could get more of their popular watches. I've had mine over a year and have gotten zero compliments yet several on my Breitlings and Omega. So buy what you like and not the hype.
Michael Choi i have 16cm too, and this one looked big on my wrist (specially the white dial wears bigger) I’m planning to go with the 36 black since the white in 36 doesn’t look as good as this one
faisal Ahmed I understand your dilemma since they made the white dial 35 with double battons, sucks but I would say try the 34 mil you might like it and not sure too between 34 or just the blue dial 36
