how about Bruce Lee's movie when Bruce Lee beat that old man to death in the big boss the 1971 movie and the Chinese connection when he kick the s*** out the Japanese guy of the school dojo that movie scene was insane 🐉👊☯️
Dragons Forever
battle royal feature Jackie, Yuen Biao, Benny Urquidez, Yuen Wah, Pauline Yeung the usual gang of Peking Opera stunt guys
The man from nowhere ending fight scene
Yeah, Bruce Lee's fight against Chuck Norris. It's absolutely legendary!
The Raid, Mad Dog still fighting when stabbed in the neck was pure savage. A true definition of "don't know when to quit"
Honestly, I thought this one would be their top pick.
Im so glad Jackie Chan was allowed to thrive in his unique style and wasn't forced to be a Bruce Lee replacement
He was initially. All that changed in 1978 w/ Snake in the Eagle's Shadow & Drunken Master.
I agree at the end of the day "Jackie is Jackie and Bruce is Bruce."
Indeed!
@@mobilerds490 how exactly is an one of those irl
Initially he was.
Jet Li vs. MMA Fighters in Cradle 2 the Grave could've made an honourable mention.
Nah, that scene is cringe, any of those mma fighers would tear Jet apart in seconds. Yes, Jet is good, but he's not figher, he's stuntman and martial artist, and kicking asses of the dozens of ufc fighters is just beyond cringe.
The choreography of that since was top notch. Couture and Liddell wasn’t part of the brawl, but Ortiz made up for it.
@@cheap_clips No they wouldn't. You underestimate Jet Li's fighting prowess. Would one of those MMA fighters be able to beat Jet Li? Sure! But with high difficulty. It's Jet Li, not Steven Seagal.
@@jonathanmartin8113 jet had zero fights during career, he's a good martial arts actor, yes, he's master of his craft, but having a real not cinema fight is another craft in which these guys are best
heck yes that was brilliant
The twins fight in Kiss of the Dragon was good, but the earlier fight against 30 police officers in the dojo was a better display of Jet Li's astounding speed.
Yeah that's incredible he's lightning ⚡ fast
I would agree, but this list is all about how violent the fight is. The police dojo was the best fight, this was the most savage and deadly.
Love that film. The way he goes beast mode on any who challenge him.
both are crazy amazing
Jet Li was my guy growing up. Use to rent all his movies at blockbuster Once Upon a Time in China was my favorite
I had few starts with Bruce Lee, then grew up with Jet Lee and Jackie Chanand then Donnie Yen showed up. I love all of their work, Donnie maybe being the favorite.
same he is incredible
Wheels on Meals was incredible! I'll never get over the kick that took out the candle fire.
such a great funny film and the the fights are just so good
RIP Bruce Lee (1940-1973) and son Brandon Lee (1965-1993)
Both died so young, one at 33, the other at 28.
Every day a Lee probably dies rip to all the lees
That’s not true Bruce Lee’s daughter Ms Shannon Lee is still alive to this day she’s currently 55 years old
Bruce Lee was overrated - wonder if its because he was an American why they hyped him up?
@@sebastianemond5313..Bruce died aged 32
This could be a full list of just "The Raid part 1&2 fights".
Rama: “What’s the craziest enemy you’ve ever fought?”
Ip Man: “An American soldier.”
Rama: “I fought an assassin who uses Karambit knives.”
Ip Man: “Oh my.”
Well, not to ruin your comment, but Ip Man fought off a rival dojo owner with a duster (while protecting his son)
I'd say his craziest enemy was fighting an invading enemy general who was subjugating and killing his fellow countrymen.
Jet Li Owns this list if we are being honest 🔥🔥🔥
IDK. Iko was seen quite a bit too.
100%
Between him and Donnie Yen, they practically were the list.
Because they released globally. A lot of the Indonesian films were local. @@feralart
Jet Li and Jackie
I know there are a few fights from The Raid movies already, but Rama vs Hammer Girl and Bat Boy was a standout in Raid 2. That last 360 camera pan when he kills Bat Boy *Chefs kiss*
Straight facts should of been top 5 on list
Agreed! That is the fight I remember most and bring up whenever the raid 2 is mentioned. Way more beastly and violent even with all the stabbings in the end fight.
Ip man vs 10 blackbelt❌
Kungfu hustle final fight✅
Me casually pulling out my pen to write them movies down for re-watch😎
Haha me too
😅
Same! 😂
@@rabiumusah3005yep I do this also so true 😂
I'm a little sad that Wesley Snipes didn't at LEAST get an honorable mention for the end fight in Blade.
Sure, it was a more "Americanized" fight scene with heavy hits and points for style more than technical prowess. BUT this list doesn't say "best choreographed fight scenes", it's when martial artists went "beast mode", and the end fight in Blade is nothing short beast mode. You got a jacked up Wesley Snipes as the titular Blade going on a vampire and familiar killing spree to get to the main bad guy combined with an energetic, EDM-style score. And of course Blade is doing things like.. ripping a one guys throat out to throw it at someone else, breaking bones, kicking people so hard they go flying, catching leg kicks and snapping legs in half, blocking and throwing flurries of brutal punches. And then when he gets his sword he happily utilizes that as well.
So yea.. it's not a super lengthy fight scene that compares to Jackie Chan or Jet Li movies, but this list is about BEAST MODE... And that's some beast mode shit right there.
Also.. the list didn't specify a scene had to be grounded in "reality", i.e. comic book movies like Blade aren't allowed because the protagonist has enhanced strength and power and what not. Just because Wesley Snipes was playing a vampire, I don't think that should disqualify him.
I agree, the fight scenes are brilliant
Thank you for this video, there is one major Martial Art movie wish you would have mentioned. A 2008 Thai movie called "Chocolate" starting actress JeeJa Yanin, its a story about an autistic girl who can mimic any martial artist by watching his moves. It was cool.
Glad you mentioned this classic movie
its kinda slow paced
Thank you for this recommendation. I'll have to find it.
You left out Jet Li's fight at the army camp at the end of Tai- Chi master.
Fantastic fight scene. To be honest, this whole list could have been Jet Li scenes and it still would have been correct. Heck, even just the weapons demos in Shao Lin Temple could have been on this list.
@@johnmccombe6342 It would just be biased. A list like this is incomplete w/o Drunken Master 2, Ip Man, The Raid 1&2, Police Story, etc...
They also left out Fist of Legend... That whole movie is filled with beast mode fight scenes. The fight in Akutagawa's dojo and the fight against General Fujita are masterpieces in the genre.
@@jonathanmartin8113 It's number 5 on this list.
@@jp3813 And so it is lol I must have missed it when they played it... my bad. Epic fight scene though 😁
The final fight of Drunken Master 2 (aka The Legend of Drunken Master) is still #1 for me. In the English version, Jackie's names for his moves are very random (ex: "monkey drinks master's wine", "eagle carries wine bottle", "uncle stirs the barrel", etc...). In the original version, however, he's actually naming the Eight Drunken Immortals from the first Drunken Master (1978):
Lu Dongbin = the drunkard w/ inner strength [Jackie also plays him in The Forbidden Kingdom under the character's birth name]
Zhang (Chan) Gualao = the drunkard w/ the swift double-kicks
Lan Caihe = the drunkard w/ the sudden deadly waist attack
He (Ho) Xiangu = the drunken woman flaunting her body
Li Tieguai = the drunken cripple w/ the powerful right leg
Han Xiangzi = the drunken flute player w/ the powerful wrists
Cao (Tso) Guojiu = the drunkard w/ the powerful throat lock
Zhongli (Jun) Quan = the drunkard holding a pot in his arms
He reintroduces these mythical beings during the market fight, and then leaves it up to the audience to visually identify each one during the climactic match against Ken Lo's insane taekwondo. Hence, not only is it engaging audiences beyond just watching two people battle, but Jackie is also playing different characters as if doing an interpretive demonstration of their attributes. A perfect example of multilayered choreography that sets it apart from being just another typical martial arts fight scene.
Jackie Got seriously Injured on set
@@jalenikezeue4114 Quite common in his Hong Kong movies during the 80s & 90s.
@@jp3813 But this One was different Jackie Almost Got Third degree Burns
@@jalenikezeue4114 He was almost paralyzed in Police Story and almost died in Armour of God. So yeah, no surprise there.
I think the stairway scene in The Protector is better than the final fight. Its just so iconic to do it all in one shot, and sending the people falling down the center on a far drop is amazing. Tony Jaa will always be one of my favorites. Great list! I haven't seen a bunch of these, so thank yiou for making me aware of them.
Drunken Master 2 also has a great scene where he fights an entire school and basically destroys a building while the people are in it by breaking the supports of the building and having it collapse. Thats another one which stands out in my mind, just for the sheer amount of extras that he fights, it seems like over a hundred!
The last fight in Tony Jaa's "The Protector". It was at least worthy of an honorable mention.
The fight scene in the protector where he is fighting in the burning church where he fights the 4 fighters, one of them being a capoeria fighter is one of my favorite fight scenes in any movie.
I mean yeah Ip Man vs 10 Men at number 1 wasn’t surprising. Every now and then i come back to watch just this scene. Its amazing
That was really good, but. I was shocked 'Old boy', didn't get a mention.
Because neither the actor nor the character portrayed by him were trained in martial arts
All of the martial arts movie fight scenes are my all-time favorites
Same here
I'm so glad you mentioned Flash Point! I was waiting for it lol. And Unleashed too. Mojo getting them deep cuts.
I remember watching Flash Point many times years after it released just because of its fight scenes!
The fight scenes were so good in that movie they just tore chunks out of each other
Drunken Master is an absolute must watch
Alley fight in "Old Boy", the club fight in "Kill Bill"
The entire final fight in the monastery from Armour of God is one of my favourite Jackie Chan 1-vs-many fight scenes.
In regards to this list, I wouldn't have included The One. As unique as it was, I don't think it quite deserves to be there, but happy to see other Jet Li scenes make the list.
The end fight scenes in The Man From Nowhere. That was amazing!
Mad dog moment
The bathroom fight in Unleashed was awesome. Seeing the normally composed Jet Li fighting in such brutal close quarters was a treat. Also just about every fight in Atomic Blond or Fury Road are definitely worth revisiting again and again. Monkey Man was a pleasant surprise in this respect too with brutal and realistic fights.
Unleashed was my absolute favorite jet li movie.
Also for kungfu cinema lovers, the game Sifu has challenge stages set to several different famous fight scenes you get to play out.
From parts like the pit scene from Unleashed, to Neo vs an army of agent smiths.
Got to appreciate the skill in these masters.
Now if only they had a movie that uses The Drunken Fist... Now that would make for an interesting movie
Is that a book?
@@shikiriki_the_death_tree Drunken boxing also known as Drunken Fist, is a general name for various styles of Chinese martial arts that imitate the movements of a drunk person.
I can't tell if you're just joking since Drunken Master 2 is on the list.
Let's not count out the music by Mystikal during the 'Kiss of The Dragon' fight scene. The song is what made up half of why the scene was so good.
I agree. That whole movie is straight up legendary.
heck yes, melds so well with the fighting
Im so glad wheels on meals jackie and benny fight made this list. I still think its one of the best choroeographed fights in a movie.
I would have liked to see the factory fight in Dragons Forever too
The internet says that they were actually hitting and kicking each others for real.
It sure looks like it in real time. Its my favorite fight scene in a movie!
Bennie is so frequently overlooked, his speed and brutal combos always impressed.
I agree 100%, he is so overlooked. Being a world champ kickboxer im sure helps make his fight scenes a ton more realistic. Benny needs more recognition!
The choreography on all of these is absolutely jaw dropping! It is a miracle that no one was killed for real.
Benny the Jet extinguishing the candles is a highlight!
#18: This was my favorite martial arts battle ever. 🎉
Great list, couldn´t have picked better scenes. Bravo WatchMojo!
I enjoyed Jet Li’s Romeo Must Die fight with Russel Wong at the end. This list is pretty good too.
How's is fearless not here with the battle in the restaurant. There is nothing more brutal than that fight, and technicality is through the roof.
I am happy to see Legend of the Wolf making the list, so many good fights.

unleashed to me is one of li's best roles.its a bit off character for him but my god it is so well done
Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris. Roddy Piper vs. Keith David.
1000% agree… Scott Adkins is underrated. And so is MJW. Both need more recognition.
The Protector's last scene is still one of my absolute favorites..but let me take a second to show respect for the absolute legends for doing their own crazy stunts Tony Jaa and Jackie Chan. And mad respect to Donnie Yen and Jet Lee!!!
you've done this list like 5 times but every time I still watch :D
I'm the movie The Perfect Weapon, there's a fight where the hero takes on three Martial artists in a gym all at once. He goes off (on one of them in particular) using his Kenpo Karate. Awesome scene.
Agreed. Jeff Speakman is the one that got me into Kenpo. Well, him and "Master Ken"/Matthew Page.
Good list. I would've put in
1. Any fight scene from iron monkey
2. Kiss of the dragon karate room scene
3. Final fight in madam with cynthia rothrock amd michelle yeoh.
nice list!
Idk I think Yu law fighting the entire prison at the end was and always will be a legendary moment. I just wish we had a whole movie about it 🤌🏽🙌🏼
the fight club scene was an absolute land slide for ja's character, absolutely incredible
Jet Li is always the smallest guy in a fight, but that's why it's so satisfying to see him go into beast mode, and his hands are so quick
Several scenes from A Company Man and Man From Nowhere come to mind. PS one of your best, Mojo. Quality work.
Jet li "fist of legend" classroom fight. The efficiency and style of the way he took those guys out is remarkable!! One of my favorite opening scenes to set the tone!
Jean Claude Van Damme in the film Cyborg. He kicks so much but in this old and perhaps underrated Van Damme-movie.
Kurt McKinney and Kim Tai Chong in the film No retreat no surrender. When Kim Tai Chong playing Bruce Lee returning from the grave and teaching Kurt McKinney´s character Jason to fight he also comes with some awesome comments. For example: " - When you learn to make use of what is up here (pointing to his brain) and by utilizing Chi the result is POWER!"
I like martial art movie!! Watch while eat popcorn!! Achooo Wataaow 😎👊🏻
Great list!
The fight scene with Gordon Liu tying up all the goons with his rooftop kung fu style in "Return to the 36th Chamber" is my all-time favorite.
Also, I like the last fight scene in "Once Upon a Time in China 2" with Jet Li and Donnie Yen, and the fight scene under the train and dock with Jackie Chan and Lau Kar-Leung in "Drunken Master 2."
PART 2 PART 2 WE NEED A PART 2! This is one of your best lists of all time.
I came here for Jet Li Jackie Chan Donnie Yen
Thank God you got Unleashed in there. Couldn’t believe the brutality of the fights all the way through this. Bloody Awesome film 🤟🏻
Awesome List
I miss the A to Z videos. Why’d you stop making them?
In my time as a subscriber, I’ve never seen an A-to-Z video from them.
delusional
🏆🥇
They have to be time consuming and hard to make
What A-Z would you want them cover? I'd say alien species in media
There are some coming to mind…especially wo jing in „fatal contact“…the 3 vs. 3 fight in the belly of a ship when he activates complete beast mode at the end against the professional fighter and throws a storm of elbows.😍
That was my favorite part! His other teammates failed to take out the other teams first guy so it was all up to him to beat the other team by himself! It was fun to see how the other teams members all had a unique fighting style too!
Danny the dog doing Doggy style Kungfu.
Super valid list. Thought i might have seen ninja assassin on here too. But more hand to hand combat list which i respect
Donnie Yen and Jet Li makes the best fighting scene because they always try to kill each other for real
Maybe not "Beast" but the typical Jackie Chan fight, but I'm missing the final fight of the Movie "Gorgeous" here. Jackie Chan VS the late Bradley James Allen.
This is a good list. Any complaints i have are basically nit-picks. They have basically all of scenes that come to mind
No one fights ten black belts like Ip Man.
I don't know dude, the scene where Jet Li fights the Karate practitioners in Fist of Legend before fighting Kutagawa I think might have been a little better.
@@johnmccombe6342yes, Jet li scene was way better and a lot more realistic than the yip man scene, where only one at a time cames to attack him, and even worse...the next opponent only starts attacking when yip man has already finished the previous opponent...this fight was a joke, all the other fights in that yip man movie were really good and realist, and intelligently done, but that fight was a disgrace.
@sergiobatista2272 yes sir!! You nailed it!
The final fight in Dragonfist is astonishing. The way the crutch jackie Chan ueses gradually wears away stunned me as a kid.
Flashpoint with Donnie Yen has been my #1 for a long while. Amazing fight scenes/movie
Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan have to be in this video.
They took out more than 10 minions in many of their movies.
The raid kitchen fight , when i watched it for the first time i was in complete awe ... 😢
Great list! Shaolin vs Llama end fight was missed here though. Really most shaw brothers movies would have made this list
No. 13 "Kiss of the Dragon", I think the police training room scene; just before that scene, is the best of that movie.
The night comes for us is wildly crazy and brutal. Love that flick
Tony jaa in ong bak 2 was beastly aswell, drunkin master take, was awesome to watch
Gotta love how the list is basically just Donnie Yen,Jet Li and Jackie Chan
Even though it’s only TV Johnny Lawrence went beast mode when he’s drunk
Jet Li in Kiss of the Dragon versus all the cops training Karate.
Iron Monkey never gets any love.
This time I have to say maybe not as there is only maybe 1 fight there that is truly beastly and brutal. Though it has some of the hands down best fights of all time.
Jet Li’s Fist of Legend was my Grandpa’s first Kung Fu movie, he wasn’t normally one for violent movies like that but he enjoyed that final fight!
Hearing there is an Ip Man 5 coming is surprising because not only did I not know, but I remember Donnie Yen kept saying he wants to leave the role, but then he always come back to it.
Also, I remember when I first saw Ip Man. It was wild. I dont doubt there have been Ip Man movies before that 1st one with Donnie Yen, but it feels like ever since that movie they havent been able to stop making movies about him lol. Not just the Ip Man franchise, but theres Grandmaster, The Legend is Born, a Chinese tv series, Ip Man and the 4 Kings, Kung Fu Master, and more.
Bro teasing us with that mad dog fight
Number 1 for me is Mad Dog VS the brothers in the final fight (The Raid Redemption)
These are all good but I think we've forgotten how hard the Turtles went against the Shredder during the roof top fight
Fist of Legend was goated. Too many beast mode Jet Li moments in that film. Especially at the classroom and dojo fight
There are some many to choose from Chocolate, The Man From Nowhere, Ong Bak, Triple Threat, Ninja Assassin, 5 Deadly Venoms Black Mask, Once Upon A Time In China, 14 Blades, Legend Of The Fist Chen Zhen......
I dont know if it counts as 'Beast Mode' but the Liu Kang vs Reptile fight (Robin Shou) in Mortal Kombat (1995) is quite intense, and probably the best fight in that movie.
How you could leave out Jackie Chan vs Jet Li fight from The Forbidden Kingdom is beyond me!
Have to say that Transporter fight is a personal favourite 🤟🏻
That No. 3 is by far the most epic fight Jackie Chan ever partook in in his movies. It's not the same rigid dance like coreography like what we had in the first movie, but nice freestyling, and still pulling off the most insane moves. Every hit landed feels as real and as painful as it comes. Awesome stuff from Jackie.
Donnie Yen's SPL alley fight an "Honorable Mention"...I'm mad at yall lol
Jet Li is my favourite.
The scene in the training room at the end of 'Kiss of the Dragon' is just top notch.
The camera couldn't keep up with his hands. 🔥
Great list, if that #1 was something different I wouldn’t rioted somewhere
17:02 this my number 1 , watched this fight a dozen times, iko uwais will always be my favorite 💯 but this video is valid
The One has implemented one of the first multiverse concepts in cinema, and one of (if not the only) time where Jason Statham has hair.
This is why I love martial arts action!
Me too 😎
the forbidden kingdom has some amazing fights.
the drunken immortal vs the silent monk has to be my fav though
Scott Adkins sadly didn't get the amount of fame and recognition he deserves. The most amazing thing about him his even though he is a martial art powerhouse, he behavior in rel life is as timid as a gentle rabbit.
