Fun fact: January 1, 1970 (0000 UTC if you want to get serious about it) is the zero time for a lot of computer systems, so when that shows up it often means that somebody just got lazy and put in a zero into a date field.
5:00 - Looks like it was designed by DedSec from Watch Dogs. Also if this was posted on Reddit, they'd all take it seriously that Ben doesn't know what 80085 is.
So the 1st Jan 1970 thing is probably the result of a bug on the website. 1st of Jan 1970 is the epoch of Unix time. Unix time is used heavily in programming, but if your website / program doesn't handle it correctly, the default output for something using this is 1st Jan 1970. I suspect there was a missing date for the release date of the article and the website hasn't handled it gracefully so it has defaulted to this. The more you know (or wildly speculate). I am not fun at parties.
NGL your previous PMR is one of my fav eps of WGE I regularly quote "Pimp City, are you joking? Get a real job!" not that anybody understands but I love it
After watching the latest WGE epic, I decided to check out the Crappy Games Wiki. Without any plan in place, I just hit the random page - and came up with Pimp My Ride: Street Racing. I'm so scared.
It's funny that the reviewer said it reminds them of Midnight Club 3 because that game was out on the PS2 like 4 maybe 5 years before it and looked (and presumably) played a lot better. So if the reviewer had played both then I don't know how they can compare them... 🤨
Okay, I'm not gonna lie: I really, really miss ya'll's faces. These've still been enjoyable, of course, but there's no replacing having ya'll onscreen and the various physical comedy and face edits that resulted. I can't overstate how much I appreciate you guys still making these though, so thanks.
Right stick acceleration is actually pretty common among PS2 games and even late PS1 games. PS2 has analog face buttons, but the stick is usually still more precise. A lot of multiplat racing games on PS2 don't even support the analog face buttons anyway, so you have to use the stick if you want gas/brake to be more then just on/off.
I was feeling nostalgic for some reason so when Peter was saying "...it's not always the worst game ever, sometimes it's just..." bit, i thought "...shit game for w*nkers hastagshitgameforw*nkers"
Actually, as far as I know they didn't gave people good engines. They just added all that screens, ps2 and cool stuff but if the car needed a new motor or something like that they didn't gave them
The TV show "Pimp My Ride" was one of those genuine "guilty pleasures" of mine. Personally I always felt bad for the guy who got the task of doing the wheels. "I've put a bowling alley in the back!" "I've altered the air-flow system so that it now traps water vapour to provide safe drinking water to starving African children!" "I've painted the whole thing flame red with go-faster stripes!" "I've put... larger wheels... with, y'know, slightly more interesting-looking hubs. Yep." (Cue everyone trying to look impressed, and not quite succeeding.)
I loved the show too! Until I discovered that it was all pretty much fake (thanks to the last ep. they did on WGE), and that they took a lot of the shit they "gave" people back.
@@em_birch Hah yeah, someone I went to uni with claimed to have known someone who was on the UK version and he said that most of the screens and stuff were taken out, but the bodywork remained. And because the car now had non-manufacturer modifications he couldn't afford to insure it anyway and it ended up barely ever leaving his drive.
@@VillaFanDan92 That too! They took the stuff back AND they could no longer pilot the vehicles because they were either uninsurable or no longer street worthy. That blew my mind, but also taught me a lesson about "reality" television.
I met somone who worked on Pimp my Ride UK and basically the whole thing is fake when the crew turn up at the person house its all pre arranged and the house is rented by the show, and he said the British people are shit on camera and gave rubbish reaction so all the reactions are shot multiple times.
This gm def fits the show, nothing but shit. Even watching that show as a kid i always wondered how these cars were even street legal. And turns out none of them were. They all had to be unpimped after the show. There's an article i read about 6 months ago talking about how bad the "car owner" was treated during the filming and how they'd be without a car for over 3-5 months. Awful time constraints for the workers to get stuff done by both MTV and the owner of the shop they took it to.

I like how Peter went back, stopped to look at shops, reversed in another street for skrilla and still got 2nd place
yeah and then there is that sad review of the guy having his friend over to complete the race for him

Novitia holds the speedrun record with a time of 6h 47m 52s 072ms
If the bookshops get into legal trouble they can always change their name into Triple Books. Great video guys
Or Bookiots. Or What Bookture Gaming!
I really hope you give this everything you've got.
As luck would have it, the 800 85ers were on this game too!
I've actually played a pimp my ride game before. Sadly I'm not the one playing this so I can't give it my all
Oh yeah here we go, sports time

1/1/1970? Clearly that guy at Gamespot needs to replace their CMOS battery LOL.
When i was a kid I thought that was the shit looking at it back now
I’m really disappointed at myself
Ben obviously didn't own a calculator in the 90s (80085!)
My favourite moment was the doors on the 80085 mobile being used as indicators. 😂
The shop names remind me of when I went skiing in the French Alpes and there was a restaurant called Le Takeaway with le average food.
That boost sound is definitely the buzzer from Catchphrase.

Just realized I never comment on these because I’m so involved in watching them! Love you guys congrats on 100k you deserve more

I kinda wish you guys could have figured out some home green screen-thing in the meantime. These videos are still awesome, we just miss your faces :(
Surely corona must be under control in the UK at this point. I'm not understanding why they're still puppets. Get your asses back to the office! :c
@@MasterCrumble It just spiked badly, so its not.
at least you still get to see there faces on the vods. Also plenty of older Vidiots and triple jump videos to rewatch.
I'm here to agree with what everyone's saying. We miss you guys.
I would drive that poorly textured truck from the thumbnail for the rest of my life. A+
26:26 It took me this long to realise the wheels don’t slow down during the cool scrilla jumps.
The Gamebyro engine seems like the weirdest engine to make this game in
If the police from London Racer show up out of nowhere to chase you would probably improve the game.
We're in sequel territory, boys! Will this be better than London Racer 2?
These videos are the only fortnightly thing I care about.
Glad to see the return of 1Jif
I think its hilarious how sharp Peter's eyes are, when he frequently wears glasses!
"That's a full scrill, there."

80085 is the number of angels that serve the LORD
I swear the Posh Area level is a carbon copy of a Need 4 Speed level.
That boost sound effect sounds like a ps4 booting up, thought I turned it on accidentally while watching lol
I was feeling nostalgic for some reason so when Peter was saying "...it's not always the worst game ever, sometimes it's just..." bit, i thought "...shit game for w*nkers hastagshitgameforw*nkers"
"it's been pmiPed" I'm dying
Y'all need to play state of emergency...it's truly uh....**mesmerizing**
Right analog stick is an alt mode of accelerating and braking in a lot of PS2 racing games.
The blood placement is impeccable.
The DS version of this game is surprisingly impressive

I'm guessing the game wasn't as fun though. Tell me you could at least mod a truck so you could put a retro arcade in the back of it?

I actually have a legit copy of this game for ps2
7:37 isn't that the buzzer sound from Catchphrase? Say what you see!
Omg I thought exactly the same thing! 😂
This game looks like if you rendered Midnight Club 3 on a TI-84 graphing calculator.
I don't know what's worse. The fact that there was more than one game "based on" that show. Or that the boys put themselves through them.
I remember wasting a ton of time on a pimp my ride flash game
You were 100% pressing handbrake instead of the brake every time you were spinning!
thats what i thought and maybe L1 was brake and reverse
I still miss the facecam. Seeing their utter bewilderment to some of the garbage on this show was part of the fun.
Face cams can't happen due to Ben and Peter working at home due to covid restrictions :)
yes
That boost noise sounded like Sonic
30:22 Buffalo horns? That's a bit weird I don't think that's right.
Posh Area looks a lot like Pimp City from the first Pimp My Ride video.
I want to put buffalo horns on everything I own, now.
I met somone who worked on Pimp my Ride UK and basically the whole thing is fake when the crew turn up at the person house its all pre arranged and the house is rented by the show, and he said the British people are shit on camera and gave rubbish reaction so all the reactions are shot multiple times.
Ben: Oh! You got to get that scrilla.
Peter: Yea I'm going back for the scrills.
Ifeel ya guys. Scrilla 4 life!!
BARGAINS, BARGAINS, BARGAINS AT DIDLEDIDEE
This game came out on the same engine as Oblivion three years after Oblivion. Allow that wash basin into the building.
The boost noise is exactly the same as the game show Catchphrase when they buzz in
Did they rip the sound effect that plays when you pick up a boost from Sonic or am I going mad?
It does sound incredibly similiar
I was gonna say that too! Nice 👍
Sounds like it's a higher pitched Catchphrase rip off
The boost sound reminds me of that sound from catchphrase 🤔
This game is my childhood😢
This the Pimp My Ride series’ second warning. One more and they’re finished.
OUTRAGEOUS customisation
...bullhorns
I'm certain the bullhorns were the wrong way round.
Another great video!
That Tim Westwood reference aged well…

That pimp my ho game was a bit naff too, in all fairness...
I love this channel
that boost sound, sounds exactly like sonic.
Wicka-wicka-wild-wild-westwood
If this was the real Pimp my ride the only vinyl they should have is flames
I mean a analog stick gotta be better for driving than a fullspeed or nothing button.
Depending on the arcadiness of the driving physics of course.
ps2 actually has pressure sensitive buttons
More scrilla = More hot dog
I played this game a lot when I was kid, I really like it.
I've seen some of these worst game ever review videos and I gotta say that this one is hilarious
I think I'd play London Racer any day over this, also, why the hell did they not get Ben and Peter to present the new Top Gear?
and Mikey Johnson we need 3 hosts
@@speedwaynutt those 3 would be class on that show
used to love this show when xhibit presented it, the uk version with tim westwood was shite, he was annoying as fook
I mean for a game that came out in 1970 it ain't that bad
this game was HORRIBLE but damm i played this my entire childhood lol
Gran Tursimo 4 is the same way when moving
Should've made the license plate 69ers
midnight club 3 was the shit.
Well done, sir Bennifer.
Didn't they already do this one? I remember that little shoulder dance Ben did. lol
Different PMR game
This game has fuck all to do with the show. It's like doing a Real World game where they join a fighting tournament 😂
I LOVED this game as a kid on the psp!
Xzibit was in the first game this was an even shitier sequel made by an even worse company lool
We are Heading to 100 thousand Subscribers woooooooo
Hype traaaaaaiiiin! Choo choo!
Book shop.
2:19 Virtual?
I used to love pimp My Ride on PSP
The scrilla in manilla
you are using the handbrake not the brakes lol
Pimp my ride street racing was awesome
How you guys are still under 100k subs is beyond me 🤯
They're growing pretty quick though! It's exciting!
More like pimp my day
Piiimp My RIIIIiiiIIIIDe
