I made him did it 2 times He just reached over and grabbed it first time and I told him I didn’t have the camera on He will be feeling all that in about 40 yrs lol
Hello Wiley, awesome video. That truck started up quick. Looks like a major transmission problem, and still has an air leak. But great to see it run👍👍👍👍
I forgot to say I have so much respect for you and the content you bring to your channel and you have stayed true too what you do luv you Wiley keep doing what you do and you won't go wrong 👍👍👊
That is an exhaust brake / flap. It’s not like Jake brakes that hold the exhaust valve open. That brake has a flap that restricts the exhaust flow causing back pressure in the engine, slowing it down. Blue Ox may be the name brand of that exhaust flap.
Willey I have to say you have boy's to be proud of they are well brought up and you have done a great job as a dad to them and it's so good they are both involved in your channel and up most respect to you for all you do I hope you carry on for many years to come 👍
Wily, one thing about it you got a good strong man on your side lol. Jeb rolled that big tire like I would roll a 15 in wheel and tire lol. Great video. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
He's on a good start to becoming a driver. I was 19 when I got my CDL and I'm 30 now. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Too bad the rig was parked because of the tranny but that little 10 spd can be swapped and she'll roll again. I wish I lived closer to you guys because I'd love to join in on the adventures, especially with big rigs. Good luck to Jeb, and I love your videos. Keep on trucking 🤙
I love how Jed m has no clue, fresh for the new life of tons of truck trials and error,,, brand new not a clue, lol nice thanks now all Jen needs it a teacher that knows the trucking , like me , that will be the real accomplishment nowadays to find somebody that knows about trucking and trucks,,, 45 years in it here with me and my trucking life, BigAl California thanks
Mr wily you got great boys you raised um right and beautiful truck I got the same truck except with the Cummins red top 1.3 mil on the original engine it's nice your teaching your boys about engines don't let um drive there slowly trying to make trucks self driving and I don't like it so keep on fixing them
The. Old gal runs great Wiley e Coyote it fired right up my home town Alabama lowndes county my uncle's drove them big tractors in the heart of Dixie y'all take care and God bless you 🙏🙏
Thanks willy video. The trucks look like alaska west trucking haul fuel. The parts on exhaust is emergency shut-down need in oilfield.I work in oilfield in western canada 30 years if equipment don't have, the machine or trucks is off job on spot yup.You must test before job start or show up in plant. We have explosions on job site due no emergency shut-down honest. Now oil company and gov't enforce it.Thanks video again😊
Thank you for sharing this Lots of comments were brakes I never thought about it being for brakes and I sure wouldn’t have guessed emergency shut off Thanks Again
Man I could watch your videos all day long , so wish I lived over where you are I desperately want to own one of them amazing trucks here in the UK our trucks well they just don't have the same appeal . All the best
Check your springs, u bolts any thing hanging down, turbo clamps for leakage. Also for lose tank straps , hand holds, stickers. Basically the more the better for any teacher worth their salt.
Thanks for the video Wiley and Jeb. It was an interesting old truck. You got it running pretty easy Wiley. Not too bad of an old truck yet. Do some fixing on it and TLC and could use it for yard work or whatever. Too bad the transmission is bad in it. Would depend how much someone Wanted to invest back into it for the transmission. Thanks Wiley. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
We had trouble like that in dump trucks and most of the the time it was the bottom of shifting lever. The corners wore down and would slip out of the linkage. The other thing look like an exhaust break.
I've seen them on the air side especially for tractor pulling to cut air off to the motor but on the exhaust never saw one. Guessing for a engine brake of some kind
Hey Wily how you been man I've just been doing okay I've just hit a rough patch since I have lost my career it's just been harder to afford keeping food in here because of my health problems but other than that my family is doing well hopefully you are doing good with all your business ventures you and your son I seen another video pop up so I figured I'd tune in see what you guys are up to hopefully you're up to something good so I'm going to tune in and see what's up
@DontbeWily me too Wily I'm grateful though because my income came through so I was able to pay my bills it's going to help a little bit to where I can get some stuff in here until the next pay around so thank God thank God for that
That transmission is a good example of the expert , professional gear floaters , thats what you got after they destroy the shifting tower , forks and slide rings , because they are not smart enough to drive a truck the correct way using the clutch as eaton/fuller states to prolong the life of the transmission .
Great video Wily, just wondering about the John Deere 644 loader and the komatsu 470 loader are either one for sale. Keep the videos coming and stay safe.
@ thank you I would be interested in the Komatsu when you find out what the court is going to do. Great video and great channel keep the videos coming and keep up the hard work. Thank you
@@chrisbayly6612 I’m on the exhaust break band wagon also. Though it is mighty close to the front tire 🛞, limbs🌲sticking up and rocks 🪨 poking out. Could it be clocked wrong?
The M11 to me is one of the best engines Cummins ever made ! The M11 was fitted in a good number of trucks here in the UK most notably the ERF EC11 I know of at least 2 that are million milers in my home town that now have an easier life as show trucks and another 3 with another small firm still in front line service hauling bulk tipper trailers
My old 65 Ford F100 had a “Heat Riser”, valve that blocked one side of the exhaust on the V8. Which forced the some exhaust back through the intake manifold and out the other exhaust manifold. The process warmed up the intake, manifold in cold weather. The heat riser was spring activated and located just at the beginning of the pipe and end of the manifold.
Exhausts brake if they looked after it would lock up ya rear like you would not believe i had it on my twin steer ISUZU worked better than those europeeen engine brackes
Thanks for sharing. On their defense. It is hard to get drivers to drive older trucks when they can get a job driving a like new one. Good owner operator log truck though. 9 so.
I love how Jeb doesn’t even make a grunt flipping up that tire. You raised them right, Wiley.
I made him did it 2 times
He just reached over and grabbed it first time and I told him I didn’t have the camera on
He will be feeling all that in about 40 yrs lol

Thanks Ken

I never thought about it might have something to do with braking

Anouther decent old bus that with a bit of love and care would still do a days work the engine sounded sweet as s nut 😮😮
I think so too. Thanks for sharing
We had trouble like that in dump trucks and most of the the time it was the bottom of shifting lever. The corners wore down and would slip out of the linkage. The other thing look like an exhaust break.
That’s what another man told me to look for
Thanks for sharing

lol
Good job should see more Have a good day
Thanks. You have a good day as well
Looking at that on the exhaust I would think it would be temperature controlled to help the motor warm up faster
Tell gear jammin' Jeb to climb aboard that ol FLD & get the job done !!
lol. He is itching to go
I've seen them on the air side especially for tractor pulling to cut air off to the motor but on the exhaust never saw one. Guessing for a engine brake of some kind

He is keeping the JD.
Waiting on court to respond on Komatsu
@ thank you I would be interested in the Komatsu when you find out what the court is going to do. Great video and great channel keep the videos coming and keep up the hard work. Thank you
That unit behind the turbo would be an exhaust brake by the look of it. (With the air connection missing)
Thank you for sharing that
Exhaust brake? 🤔 Enjoyed the video Wily 🔧
Thank you I never crossed my mind that it may be brakes
that engine sounds healthy . shame to let it sit . would be worth fixing , overhaul trans and new clutch with clutch brake
Lindas maquinas
Exhausts brake of some kind Wily
That might very well be I was thinking 🤔 heat riser.
That was my guess too.
Never thought about it being that.
Thanks for sharing

Wiley I new it would run

It's got a Williams exhaust brake
Decent rig if someone would take the time to service and clean it up !
I agree. Thanks for watching and sharing
@DontbeWily Yes sir ! 😁
air operated engine brake closes off the exhaust
Thanks.
I never thought about it having anything to do with brakes
It's if it tries to run away that closes the exhaust off
Cummins ❤
I like them too
Some kind of exhaust break
Thanks for sharing that
Grate truck
Thanks
Of course it was gonna fire up,it's a cummins lol
lol. They are tough
I'm pretty sure it's some form of exhaust brake.
Thanks for sharing
You never check the power steering fluid
Did he get a job?
Thats an actual exhaust brake.Restricts the exhaust.I guess it doesnt have a traditional engine brake.
My old 65 Ford F100 had a “Heat Riser”, valve that blocked one side of the exhaust on the V8. Which forced the some exhaust back through the intake manifold and out the other exhaust manifold.
